Bellbird Cobbler reviews
27He lost a pair of my shoes - and when i went in there to pick them up he didnt even know what l was talking about.
Highly recommended. After being told my shoe was irreparable, was delighted to discover that shoe could be easily fixed with simple stitch. Fast friendly service. Thank you.
Work quality comparable to Manfreds and Cobblers Last, but not as costly (location, location, location). Always delivers on time (and frequently earlier). Highly competent with Goodyear Welt shoes.
Very happy with the service I received here. The gentleman working here is lovely and provided great service and information. $62 got my Docs back to perfect. Resoled and heeled, repaired the ripped tongue on one boot and completely cleaned (they were covered in thick mud and paint). Wish I could post a before and after because the transformation is incredible.
We're (very) regulars. Friendly fellow, exceptional value. Comfortable doing tricky jobs. Does not disappoint.
I had an expensive pair of USA-made workboots with worn soles which I wanted replaced. I agreed on a high price ($90) to get Vibram soles put on them as that's what they came with ("Oh, those are expensive and I have to order them"). I tried to get the owner to take my phone number when leaving the boots in case of any problems ("Oh no, don't worry, you won't leave THESE behind, just come back on Friday week [10 days]")
Go back in 10 days time, find that he hasn't used the materials we agreed on ("Oh, I couldn't get them"), and of course couldn't call me to check whether I wanted to proceed, so just put some other type of generic soles on my boots. Still charged me the full $90 despite not using the Vibram soles and put one of the soles on off-centre on the boot.
I could have got the same job done at Mr Minit for $56 (quoted) in one day, but thought I would try to deal with a proper cobbler instead - hoping for some old-school skill and professionalism.
No facility to pay by card, didn't offer a tax invoice (but hand-wrote one when I asked for it).
Would not return or recommend to others.
