Beckett Park reviews
41I often come for a walk, the terrain is relatively high, the scenery is very good, and it is closely connected with Maranoa Botanic Gardens. There are sufficient facilities, a flat lawn, and a playground for children. The only regret is that the mobile phone signal is not good in some areas.
A wonderful find for my three year old
To explore. However, it concerns me greatly that dog owners think it is ok
To let their dogs (large ones) rush the little people in the playground area and think it is ok because ‘oh he is friendly’. It is not ok to allow your dogs to bowl over children in the playground, try to eat their food or make them scream in fear.
Happened twice on Saturday 1/7/23.
Otherwise, if the dogs are kept away, then it is brilliant!
One of my new favourite local parks. Has a great playground and a tower that you can climb up plus a sandpit. Lots of dogwalkers also bring their dogs for walks here. Highly recommend
Great for families and children. Huge park with a botanical garden. Lots of play equipment, clean toilets, benches for resting, picnic tables and water fountains. Climb the unique tower. Fun, fun, fun.
There's a great playground for kids here that's well maintained. It can cater for lots of children as it has lots of equipment and play area's for exploration. It could do with some additional seating for parents and there is a lack of lawn area surrounding the pay ground
Fantastic place to go with family or partner to spend some time. Great kids swings and great if you want to relax with friends for a picnic or a grt together.
Fantastic place to go with family or partner to spend some time. Great kids swings and great if you want to relax with friends for a picnic or a grt together. So many people there as was a beautiful daybf9r a family outing. Kids were having a ball as kids equipment were kid safe and so many to select from. Great to go up a historic tower and take in the 360 degree views from different angles with great views of the whole park. Great riding trails if you enjoy a bike ride as well
Nicely laid out park, great views, WW1 memorial cairn, Vic Centenary Tower 1934, pity that the Tower closes at 5pm in summer
It is quite a spacious park to have a picnic. Apart from the usual play facilities, it has a big sandpit with diggers. And a small maze for kids to play. Easily spend an hour with two here. There is also a tower there. You can climb up and have a good view around the park.
Nice park with few small walking tracks, nice to have a dog to go with. Lots of flowers and trees with the Botanic Gardens next door.
This park is awesome! They have cool features like a round bowl you can sit in, and another person can spin you around! But, the bad thing about this park is at sunset, the MOSQUITOES? Come out!
Beautiful place for all ages. Whether you want to walk around or bring your children to play and there are enough benches and water fountain.
Large playground with lots of different activity areas, including a large sandpit, small maze, multiple slides.
Fairly small but interesting park for a walk or a casual day out. There is a tower to climb for some great views (spiral staircase and ladder), as well as a playground, parking and toilets. Joined to the Maranoa Gardens. Great local visit.
Delightful park for a picnic or a coffee while admiring the view towards Mount Macedon and surrounding areas. The park is lovely to stroll around and includes a native flora reserve.
There is also a playground suitable for children of all ages. Add to this the delightful art Deco war monument, water fountain and climbing tower and you'll find there is much to enjoy at Beckett Park.
Awesome park which is co- joined with Maranoa Gardens. This park allows dogs. Beautiful views as it is on a hill.
There's a native reserve along Yarrbat Ave side where surprisingly dogs are allowed to run off leash. Large playground & equally large sandpit play area with park tables & benches. No bbq.
There's a Cenotaph war memorial cairn at main carpark. Another tall viewing Tower near play area - not sure if viewing platform was open today. This is not an enclosed park - pedestrians can walk in from side streets at any time. However- main entry via Parrin Rd for vehicles - check if gates will close. Toilets at carpark area.
Marana gardens needs a much higher standard of plant maintenance. Too many plants are in decline and many parts of the garden lack the interest that Maranoa was known for.
Good Park and very native trees and flowers, culture to know and walk around as much you around good for kids to have, can bring your own food can eat in there under the nice tree.
So lovely here, very like being in the bush. A suburban oasis of scrub and trees attracting the beautiful fauna and insects and melded with some great walking tracks with effective exercise, including rolling hills. I really like wattles of all kinds, and there are some great specimens here. The view to the north is amazing.
Great playground for kids, beautiful gardens, toilets on site.and wonderful spot for the two war memorials
