Very good Italian restaurant in the city. Yes there are many to choose from from Becco is sure to please. Just in laneway of Crossley Street neat Paris end of Burke Street. Enjoyed a nice evening with fiends and had very good service as well. Everything was great. I highly recommended this place.

Still a Melbourne icon and still serving wonderful food. Seafood, pasta, mains - everything is a delight. And ample social distancing inside and out. I'm so thankful after Lockdown I still have Becco. I won't take it for granted

Excellent Food and Good Service. With the return to dining we booked a lunch at Becco, the place was quiet given the capacity restrictions at the moment. They get you to check in via a QR code and access their menu on their website via your phone (it would be good to have another QR code for the menu to save a little time).

On to the food. We had a calamari entree and the crumbed veal for a main.both were excellent, the calamari was tender and perfectly seasoned. And the crumbed veal was perfectly cooked and love the buttery taste and the coleslaw that came with it was extremely tasty as well.

The service was friendly and the timings between meals left no complaints. If i was to nitpick my experience I would have loved the table water to be chilled, but could be down to personal preference.

Overall when factoring in the price I was expecting amazing food and Becco delivered.

One of the best (if not the best) restaurant experiences in town. Staff are very friendly and accommodating, food and drinks are top notch. Couldn't ask for more!

After an attempt at dining Mexican at La Cabra and experiencing an appalling welcome we found this restaurant a few doors down. It was a delight. Excellent service a warm welcome in a cold wet night and a delicious meal. Well done.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff, nice food although servings are on the small side for what you pay.

The food should have been better than it was.
Pasta was cold & as a main it was a small serve, flounder was small, over cooked & over salted,
Roasted potatoes with garlic were great.
Last time I was at Becco was many years ago & I enjoyed my meal then but not up to scratch this time at all. I resent paying for sub standard food.
It was so noisy in the restaurant we didn’t order dessert, we all wanted to leave.

It had been years since I’d regularly gone to Becco’s, but wanting to take my daughter somewhere nice to celebrate her milk How Now, winning gold at RMShow, I decided on Becco! From walking in the front door, to leaving, there wasn’t a flaw we could find. Friendly greetings, faultless service, from our wait team of Jasmine, & Chris. The food is perfection on a plate. Nothing that shouldn’t be there, to nothing needing to be there. The Italian coleslaw was a lesson In mastery of getting each flavour exactly right. Finishing off with a fantastic wine list, with help from their very knowledgeable sommelier, we chose a lovely Italian Chianti. This is the place to go to when you just want perfection at all levels.

We can add Becco to our list of over-hyped and over-rated restaurants after our eagerly anticipated meal on Thursday night.
We booked well ahead of coming to Melbourne from Perth based on the numerous positive reviews about the food, the ambience and the service online.
Well, after paying $39 for “the best fish and chips in Melbourne” and receiving two small portions of fish and a tiny serve of fries which could easily have come from McDonalds, we were extremely disappointed.
The waitpersons never asked how our meals were, perhaps they also believe they are fantastic, so we never got to tell them in person.
We didn’t dare to try dessert, instead heading elsewhere to one of the many excellent alternatives in the city.
Won’t be going back or recommending.

We went her after Oaks Day. Food was good, service was excellent and the atmosphere was nice on a cold Melbourne day.

Nice enough, drinks service was prompt and the wait staff friendly. The acoustics need some work, table conversation was difficult at best.

Food service was very slow leaving a lot to be desired. The food itself was ok, however the chefs definitely err towards undercooking meat. Our medium steak was cooked rare and our medium rare was on the blue side of rare.

Great coffee post dinner.

Would I book there again? No.

Would I attend an event if someone else had booked at Becco? Yes

I'm well into my 30s and have been coming here with my family since I was a teenager. It's classy without being pretentious, the food is always good, and the service spot on. You really can't go wrong.

After many years, this fabulous Italian restaurant is still one of my all-time favourites. Always guaranteed a great meal and a selection of superb wines. Service is always is good. Just love the clam pasta and a glass of wine with the fresh made bread. Coffee is always good.

The quality of the produce and respectful preparation by the chef comes through loud and clear in every course. The beef carpaccio, hangar steak, and parfait were prepared to perfection. We were located in the private dining room in the old store, surrounded by a magnificent wine collection, which complemented a fantastic evening; rounded out by great service. Great atmosphere, outstanding service, and a food triumph.

Marchettis Latin used to be our finest Italian. Now its Becco. Not to be missed. Ever. Sell your husband. Sell the car. Just dont miss their cooking.
