Bayswater Hotel

I went there with my Dad for Lunch this afternoon and I had a serve of Calamari and a bowl of Chips with a Raspberry Lemonade. My Dad had a skinny cappuccino. It was extremely nice of them to give it all to me for $7 as a once off only since I couldn't go to Nikos Greek Tavern since they were closed over the New Year.

Great venue! The staffs are amazing, friendly and attentive. The food is good too.

We returned here after having a good experience in the past and we were so so disappointed.
They have gotten rid of all their deals eg. "Parma night" and "Steak night", got rid of heaps of stuff of their menu and the bread rolls. When we ordered our Parma which was delicious last time we came and this time it was TOTALY different. We noticed it was pretty much a chicken schnitzel you would buy from Coles and did not taste like real chicken at all and the side salad was so disappointing (just a few pieces of iceberg lettuce with a chunk of tomato) Big drop in quality - really disappointing.

Consistently very good meals. Large servings always hot & fresh. The place is huge so tables always well spaced, also not noisy meaning easy conversations - so a great catchup place. (I would’ve rated 5 stars but the menu hasn’t yet returned to its previous broad variety nor the serve-yourself bread rolls:)

We booked a table for Christmas day for the very first time not eating at home. We paid $100 a head and $35 for the kids. On arrival there was alot of confusion as our table was already occupied. We were then seated at an unmade table while they tried to figure out what was going on. We were then finally taken to our table.which was rather a disappointment.a measly Christmas cracker on the table for each person and a tiny glittery Christmas tree hidden by the salt and pepper. Entree was served which was a prawn cocktail served in a glass you would normally get a coke in at the bar.nothing fancy, the kids got fairy bread (I mean really?). Mains finally came around and the meat was overcooked on 2 of the meals.and mine which was supposed to be Turkey and ham had Turkey and rolled up pieces of deli sandwich ham! Kids had a choice of a small roast or nuggets! Dessert was ok at least however kids got frog in the pond or icecream with no topping or anything! The atmosphere was dull.not a single Christmas carol was played! To say I am extremely disappointed is an understatement. We should have saved the $470.and stayed at home or gone to the kilsyth club. I hear they really put in the effort. Just a massive shame really!

Customer comes to you and says they'd like the bill for drinks. They also mention that they have not been served for 35 minutes.

A) Take their order and apologise?
B) Not give a stuff and print the receipt for the drinks?

If you work at Bayswater Hotel, it's a combination of B & C. I get it, hospitality is a tough gig. But to let paying customers walk out the door, who will probably leave a bad review on social media isn't the best option.

Considering that 3 staff members had seen us and completely ignored us, leaving a bad review was justified.

I'm not normally a person who complains via social media. But ya kinda gave me no choice.

Ok pub, but if you want people here in the summer it needs to be cooler inside than outside. Fix the aircon. Now no beers on tap. Seriously manger get something looked at or forfeit your job. Too many disgruntled patrons at the moment thinking this place is a joke!
And put some specials on your menu similar to the Sandown.

Typical bistro fare but well cooked and excellent staff that went out of their way to help out a member of our party with severe allergies.

The staff at the pokies are so rude at first I thought it was just me but the speak to every one poorly

Very popular venue. Restaurant prices are reasonable. This visit I found the ladies toilet to be a mess although I was there playing the pokies for quite a few hours there was no attempt to clear away the mess. I do believe that this area is under staffed.

My wife ordered the roast of the day which was supposed to be turkey and got pork instead, no apology was made, they just changed it and said nothing. Also it was a 40 degree day and thhe inside temerature was in the thirtys, staff said its like this all summer. The airconditioner is not working at all. No wonder the place was empty.

Friendly staff. Good sized tables and seating.

You do get a full plate serving which is great. The food was okay, wouldn't rush back to eat here.

Sunday night- without doubt the worst steak I've ever had. How do you charge $34 for a Scotch Fillet.nothing of it! Served with a few select "cold" vegies.
Never again set foot inside this establishment.

The Baysy, down to earth decor and good basic bar menu never disappoints, gigantic video wall that no one watches.

It's OK, the food was nice and the kids play ground is OK but dirty. The outside drinking area is nice and worth a visit.
The service we received was average but fine. It's worth going but just no it's not anything special but good enough.

For value for money, great service and friendliness, this Hotel has it all. It has improved a thousandfold from when we used to go there many, many years ago and would return in an instant whilst visiting Bathwater in future.
