Barwon Heads Resort at 13th Beach reviews
30Clean, modern serviced apartments located on picture perfect golf course in a gated community.
When staying at the resort we experienced amazing room service and cleaning the pool was clean and fresh, and the basketball court and free equipment including cricket gear and other sports stuff was out to use. The rooms were massive and super clean and it felt like home. Not only did we have a kitchen we had all the cooking equipment needed to have a home cooked meal everything was super clean and the beds were just like home i would strongly recommend this place and you would be crazy not to stay here.
Excellent customer service welcoming and polite and extremely happy with service provided considering we checked out late
Don’t stay here unless you plan to play golf early in the morning. Outdated daggy apartments with no air con in the bedrooms!
Was woken at 5: 45 both mornings by golf shoes and chatting in the hallway. Won’t stay here again
We wrapped up on Friday a fantastic 3 day conference at Barwon Heads Resort! From the moment we connected with them in planning this very important conference, they were accomodating, welcoming and eager to build the experience we wanted. Between Sue and Ebony, response time in communication and working with us was professional and a great experience.
The exclusivity for our team during the conference with the room, break out areas and the variety in meals was sensational.
Sarah our daily host new exactly how to ensure we were supported with food and beverages, Michael was a wonderful host ensuring the food was fantastic and tailored breakfast to everyone's needs!
The rooms were well appointed, clean, comfortable and quiet. Situated on 13th Beach Golf Course it was perfect setting.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our experience as Ball & Doggett and what a way to start our year off with the team.
We have found our conference and event partner for the future and looking forward to building a strong relationship. We highly recommend this venue and the team who made sure our every moment was a great experience! With Gratitude.
Friendly staff who were happy to allow an early check in & lovely facilities. Will be back.
Clean and relaxed environment, rooms and bathroom are modern and nice. There is no AC/heat in the bedrooms, but the one in main room does pretty good job spreading around the air.
Fabulous place but a little bit out of the way of everything for me. I love to walk when I travel and this resort was too far from the cafes and the main beach to walk.
Loved the facilities though.
Calm, clean, peace and quiet, beautiful place, Golf ground view and close to beach. Within 2 minutes drive to the town and 10 minutes drive to Coles.
I got a very delicious breakfast at nearby golf club restaurant and you can have a small gathering and BBQ at public area close to swimming pool which we enjoyed swimming in.
I could get unlimited number of towels anytime and there's a laundry.
Just area and appliance is a little bit old
Quiet and clean resort. Good to rest after golf. Relatively cheap and good resort. Golf course is also good. This resort is in the golf club and next to the golf avademy.
Be aware before booking. Overpriced and disappointing experience:
- furniture and amenities are run down
- housekeeping is not included in the price (we stayed in the king bedroom apartment)
- manager Sue is confrontational, rude and unprofessional
- room was not clean (found hair in the bathroom, dirt in window seals, windows with no or broken fly screens, patio had bird poo everywhere on the floor)
- not good for sleep (noisy and bright)
- definitely not a 4 star resort. More like a motel
- tried to cancel after one night but request was rejected by management
- location is great minus the massive walk to the beach and lack of indicative signage
Stayed in alot nicer places for less than half the price every thing is cheap in the room and WiFi is terrible for the price you pay I thought it would have been upmarket
Excellent servings of meal. (Large portions) Two 18 hole golf courses of different set up. Plenty of accommodation available at the resort or nearby. Currently building some cabins which will be open soon.
Weather OK today, snacks were good, creek golf course today 7/10 as lots of rain filled many of the bunkers
Thanks for a great stay. Even on a cold winter day. Delicious cooked breakfast and so caring and helpful when arranging bedding for my 3 year old son
Nice enough place. But extremely overpriced for the services provided. Also the only way to lock your room door is with an old fashioned key. If there was a fire in the room and you couldn’t find your key you would be stuck! Needs to be updated ASAP. Plus our balcony door wouldn’t operate properly. Needs some work for the price they charge.
Our 30th wedding anniversary was celebrated with a stay-over at 13th Beach Resort. The room was sparkling clean and very comfortable. Staff were kind and communicated well, considerate with room allocation, and added a special touch with a complimentary chilled bottle of Australian sparkling wine. Recommended to other guests.
I recently got married at the golf course next door. I had over 15 rooms booked over the weekend and my accommodation was approx $360 per night. I stayed in the room on the Friday night with my bridesmaids and my newlywed husband and I came back to an unmade bed and no clean towels for us to use in the morning. For the price and considering the amount of money not only I spent but my family spent that weekend at the resort (and they knew I was getting married) I was very disappointed. A cleaning service (made bed and fresh towels) is a minimum requirement for any resort and I’ve never stayed anywhere that has not provided this. Will not recommend staying to anyone. I wish the golf course had their own accommodation because they were brilliant & the accommodation was the only let down in my whole weekend. Then once I had put this review up, I got a very rude and aggressive phone call from the owner sue who called me (3 days after checking out but conveniently only 3 hours after putting up this review) to tell me she is charging me an extra $50 for a cleaning fee and accused me of having people stay in my apartment on the couch on my wedding night! Absolutely disgusting customer service
Another amazing weekend away with our family. Such lovely staff, and very accommodating to our every need. Looking forward to our next holiday away. Thanks Mick and Sue for your hospitality.
Was recently married at 13th beach golf club and couldn’t fault that venue. However the resort we stayed in was the only disappointment! The rooms were quite nice but the service lacked detail and the personal touch a venue priced at that point should have. My opinion is further confirmed after my wife placed a review on the page and three hours later we received an aggressive and rude phone call from ‘Sue’. Three days after we checked out she decided that the towels needed to be thrown out due to having spew on them, graffiti on a table, as well as accusations about extra people staying on the couch. These accusations came with a $50 extra cleaning charge. Crazy to believe three days after we checked out and after my wife’s review was posted there was an issue!? !? Overall, the experience wasn’t the worst and we wanted to give some concrete feedback and opportunity for the owners to take that on. The response we received after the review was disgusting and highly unprofessional.
