Was introduced by a friend to go for Nasi Keroyokan at this Indonesian restaurant at camberwell, direct translated as “mobbing the rice” or “rice mob” and traditionally eaten by hands instead of utensils. Believe or not, eating by hands add flavor to the food. Anyway it was a lot of food, chicken, pork, tofu, prawn, Tempe. Quite delicious, but u really need a hungry mob to attack. Will be more prepared next time.excluding kids. Definitely good for team building, event and family gathering, good for bonding. Indonesia is well known for its “familiness”.

One of the best go to places for authentic Indonesian food, run by Chef/owner Ali. Generous portions.

Bamboe is one of the best Indonesian Restaurant in Melbourne. Owner is super friendly and food is so authentic. We ordered the special Nasi Campur Dahsyat (NcD). The grilled ribs, fried chicken and prawn were cooked with passion and perfection. Our expectations continued to be exceeded.

The side dish of coconut vege salad and tempe/peanut/anchovy worked together beautifully. The overall dish combination and the sambal were packed with flavors. By the end of the meal we were planning our next visit.

Once you've had a taste of Bamboe's NcD - Nasi Campur Dahsyat - you wouldn't want to eat anywhere or anything else! NcD is a smorgasbord of mouth-watering, authentic Indonesian food. The fried chicken was crispy and tasty, the king prawns were beautifully cooked to perfection, and the grilled pork belly was one of the best that we've ever had! Everything was just melt-in-your-mouth-heavenly goodness. Thanks, Bamboe, and we'll definitely be back! #NcDBamboeCamberwellMelbourne

Bamboe is one of my favorite places to visit when I missed my home country foods. I order ed NcD, Nasi Campur Dahsyat. Oh my! It was delicious and tasty. Grilled pork was tender, grilled king prawn was not overcooked so every bite was firm, bouncy and crunchy.

What’s in it:

* Nasi Putih (Rice)
* Daging Babi Bakar (Grilled Belly Pork)
* Ayam Kremes (Fried Chicken)
* Sambal Goreng King Prawn Petai (Fried King Prawn)
* Sambal (Traditional Chilled)
* Orek Tempe dan Urap (Indo’s Salad)

Arguably one of the best Indonesian restaurants in Melbourne metro.

This mixed rice called NcD for Nasi campur Dahsyat is not on a daily menu basis.

Made by special order of minimum 15 which is great for gathering, meeting, etc.

The portion is generous for 2-3 people, and consists of steam rice, grilled pork belly, fried beef, fried chicken, fried king prawn, tempeh and Indonesian style chili and salad.

The taste is absolutely amazing. Tender and juicy grilled pork belly and fried beef, crispy fried chicken and prawn, delicious tempeh, chili and salad.

Everything cooked correctly, not over or under.

Highly recommended if need the food for gathering, meeting, etc.as this is once again not available on a daily menu basis but made by special order of minimum 15.

Am intrigued with the food, would come back

Stumbled upon bamboe after a Camberwell work meeting. This place is located right opposite Woolies and is at the heart of the Sunday flea market street. The store greatly resembled a warung or local restaurant in Indonesia.

Ordered a quick nasi goreng lunch ($13.9). Food came pretty quickly. At first glance, the fried rice may have looked a little bland due to the lack of colour (instead of carrots, there’s plenty of cabbage slices). What really made the dish stand out was the potent sambal. I was crying for my mother - the sambal is so tantalisingly spicy and I was happy. Portions were huge and service was quite friendly

Noticed they sold more creative and interesting authentic Indonesian dishes and I’ll definitely be back to try those.

Ordered takeaway through Menulog. Inedible, went in the bin. It was cold, the chicken was dry, no lemongrass flavour on the lemongrass chicken. Very disappointed.

Green sambal, bang it wakes up your mouth.
The food here is amazing, real authentic and the portions are a good size. Taste, spice, it has got it all with incredibly friendly service, can see why this place is packed.

I've been missing them since the one in Chadstone closed down. So glad they're back and the Nasi Bakar Komplit is as good as ever!

I had bebek kremes and was surprised how delicious it was. The bebek was big, succulent but crispy outside. I'm very pleased and definitely be going back there again.

Bamboe’s food is amazing! I went there with some friends and everything we ordered was full of flavour in well served portions. The service is great, the staff is friendly. It was my first visit there and we shared our meals, I tried four different plates and everything was delicious!

I’ll definitely come back to try different things, their menu is big!

Nice authentic Indonesian fare.if you're game for spicy and hot chili dish, you can sensationalized your tongue with some "gun-powder" infused food here.you can also savour your food on a banana leaf instead of a plate or board.

Had a scrumptious and fun Indonesian feast at Bamboe Indonesian Restaurant in Camberwell for dinner tonight.

Called to book for Nasi Keroyokan (they’re not on the menu btw!), rocked up (we were reminded to be on time) and ta da.dinner is served

1. Sambal Prawn with petai (type of green bean) - love it! I even ate the shell of the prawn - crunchy, tasty
2. BBQ pork belly
3. Fried fish - crunchy, fragrant
4. Sambal tofu - one of the crowd winner
5. Fried chicken - delish esp with the sambal belacan. The breast part tend to be a bit dry. Apart from that, yummy!
Other condiments include Sambal Belacan, Kerabu, paru crackers, tempeh with caramelised ikan bilis and peanuts with rice spread over banana leaves!

This was for 6 and only $25 per head! Thx Ali for your hospitality and great food. We’ll be back ️

Finally an authentic Indonesian Restaurant so close to us that we can recommend to our friends.
Food is tasty and reminds me of home. And it's presented very nicely
I gave 4 stars because: the Jus Alpukat (Avocado Juice) was watery and you couldn't taste the avocado.different to the traditional Indo ones, and the sambal on the Pepes Ikan was super spicy. It would've been nice to get a warning on the spicy levels or had it put on the side instead of having a mountain of it on top of my fish.
In saying that, definitely a pleasant find and we'll be back:)

This is the best Indonesian food restaurant in town with the taste of Eastern Java. Tempe mendoan, tongseng kambing, udang petai, and ayam geprek are all awesomely delicious. Came out with a generous portion, especially with the tasty chili, the price is considered decent.

This restaurant is suitable for family with young kids since parking area also available and easy to find. Some of the food are spicy but some of them are based on the request. Order and pay the food at the cashier and the food will be delivered to our table.

Besides the individual and sharing food, they also have some Indonesian sweet and snacks such as lemper, lemet, and klepon which are really similar to the one in Indonesia. So glad to have this restaurant in town.

Must try their porterhouse steak with Indonesian twist! Goes very well with their really tasty chili relish. Another must try is their grilled beef ribs with Padang sauce. YUM!

A very nice restaurant, excellent service, high quality food. A warm welcoming, followed by an excellent service, with a lot of attention to details on order to please my husband and I.
Ordered pork shoulder chop that to die for. Husband very happy with his duck crispy. Highly recommended
