Bamboe Indonesian restaurant

Good food. Such authentic experience eating on banana leaf and they provided us with gloves to eat with hand. The serving is generous that our whole group packed and ate dinner together on the same day. The sambal and sauce are great.

We moved to Melbourne about 3 months ago and this is our 5th time at this restaurant now because it’s that good! We love the beef rengdan but everything else we’ve gotten is so good as well.
Great prices, friendly staff, delicious food, and cozy space.

Delicious food as always… their ayam penyet kremes (crispy chicken) was fabulous with rice and sambal and all the sides they add! Amazing service and great prices. I’d recommend this place for anyone looking for a really authentic Indonesian meal!

Definitely one of the best Indonesian restaurants in Melbourne. Foods are really good and the service is friendly.

The nasi babi guling has sweet pork satay, crispy pork, crispy crackling, and sambal embe. The portion is quite big. I really enjoy every bite of it.

Ayam geprek Padang is very tasty too. It doesn't feel spicy at the beginning but the spice builds up.

Lucky we have es teler, the ice desserts, to cool down. It's refreshing and satisfying.

The food is amazing. By far the tastiest beef rendang I have ever eaten. Flavor is delicious and meat so tender. And really affordable too. Highly recommend!

This is by far our favorit Indonesian Restaurant in Melbourne. We have frequent this restaurants since maybe 15 years ago and still keep coming back. The food is authentic and super delicious. The service is quick and the staff very friendly and attending. Will keep coming back.

I love this restaurant. It's very small but the owner cooks from his heart. I haven't found any other indonesian restaurant making its kind of food. Each dish is like a work of art, for me. I know sometimes, it seems just a little expensive, but i don't mind because I can't eat much so I can pack back for more meals later. Their green chili sambal is super dangerous - if you are not a seasoned chili eater from asia, just beware, it may upset your stomach. I normally eat a smidgen of it, but the taste is amazing, so it is hard to resist! I remember another indonesian restaurant with this level of chili power, but they shut down in Melbourne and are only in Sydney now. Of course, if you go to indonesia, that level of chili power is well understood by everyone.yummy!

I really missed authentic Indonesian food, so I tried to come here to have lunch.
We are very lucky because they just started to accept dine in customer. With a very strict guidelines of course. The food are really beyond our expectations as they are very delicious and the presentation are also attractive. The service were also fantastic.

One of the best Indonesian restaurants in Melbourne. The food taste fabulous, very authentic, portion and price is just right. Certainly one of my favourite Indonesian restaurant, had to try other menu. The chef is very innovative and try to add new menu and improve his recipes. Die die must try. Once you try then for sure you will regret, regret that you didn't try Bamboe' food earlier

Last week we tried Bamboe' latest special menu NAPAKTILAS (Nasi Padang komplit pasti lo puas), generous portion and my family loved the fried squids roe, kikil and ayam pop. The chilli is so nice and I hardly able to resist the temptation to order more from Bamboe. Looking forward for the new special take away menu.

I ordered from Bamboe Indonesian Restaurant for the first time because of their fantastic “NAPAK TILAS” Nasi Padang Komplit Pasti Lo Puas deal and the portions are simply huge! Ordered Napak Tilas this week for my family of 5. The food was absolutely amazing and delicious! I have been ordering from Bamboe every week during Covid19 and have not been let down! They continue to consistently deliver great food with fresh ingredients and at a good price. Bamboe, is Melbourne's preeminent Indonesian gastronomic experience.
Take it from me, as a half Indonesian guy who utilizes holidays in Indonesia to eat so much that I can't fit into my pants when i arrive home. This place is fantastic, the nasi bakar is delicious, the iga bakar is perfect and cooked for just the right amount of time resulting in delicious textures and flavours that hit your palate with each glorious bite.
The service is sublime, i was both greeted and kindly bid a good evening upon leaving.
It is smiles all around, come rain hail or shine.or covid, and this always leaves the customer feeling happy and with a healthy appetite.
I am just hoping oneday I will be lucky enough to try their Gudeg (as I've seen someone post a photo of it) which I am sure will remind me of my favourite times eating Gudeg on Jalan Malioboro in Yogyakarta.

Bamboe in the Collins Indonesian - English Dictionary means "Bamboo". But in my dictionary Bamboe means "Best Indonesian place in Melbourne's East"

To be honest my initial perception when BAMBOE launched NYPD last week was a mixed feeling.
*Paket-Nasi-dengan-Ayam-Kremes*. Aha, you must be joking *Chef Ali*! It must be so boring selling this kind of product as this is a kind of dish that becomes too mainstream in Melbourne.
All vendors offering the same thing in their menu! What can you expect?

However I must admit that I was wrong. *Your NYPD is TRULY AMAZING! *

The *Ayam Penyet* is so yummy, tasty and tender. The *Kremesan* is so flavourful. The texture is great!
The *Iga Bakar* is marinated and cooked to perfection. Charred so well and the umami flavour burst in your mouth.
The *King Prawn with Rempah* with *Sambal Tempe Penyet* did the job very well. For me this is the STAR!
They are extremely tasty and scrumptious! The *King Prawn* is so tender even you can eat the prawn head, even it's been deep fried it!
Sweet, a bit spicy but sooooo tasty.hungry for more.
The *Telor Kecap* is also great with a perfect dark colour on the outside.
The *Sambal Terasi* is freshly cooked and kicking as usual!
Last but not least.your *Sayur Asem* is the best and never fails!
The balance flavour of sweet, salty, sour, spicy and umami of all fresh vegies in your soup is awesome.
All of the great things with gigantic size just for $35.

The NYPD seriously *defined* a new STANDARD of how *Paket-Nasi-dengan-Ayam-Kremes* should be!

Appreciate you go the extra mile by adding some more values to your dish and this is great for Indonesian food quality.

It's crafted and cooked so well from the scratch and bring to your table while it's still hot. It's not a mass product!

Please bring it back *more often* for your Weekly BTS (Bamboe Takeaway Specials) NcD series so everyone can TASTE and have a chance to LOVE it.
