Bakemono Bakers reviews
44 I think Bakemono is a very good patisserie. I've enjoyed their blueberry Danish for years, and it's probably the best one in Melbourne. Their strawberry Danish, plain croissants, and almond croissants are always good, too.
I recently had the Christmas special, the pastry was excellent. The passionfruit was a bit much for me, but if you love extra curd, you'll love it.
It's a nice bakery, with a great look and generally there's always queues outside. They were extra busy over Christmas, which was nice to see. I'm pretty sure I've had the Korean style garlic cheese bun from here in the past.
I don't usually drink coffee when I'm out and about at bakeries, but they use core.
You can find more of my posts on Instagram and YouTube. Thanks for reading.
The best parties I have EVER tasted! Super flakey pastry without being overpoweringly sweet. Would come back to Melbourne just for these pastries! Absolutely divine and the customer service was incredible. Get in there early because they sell out. Would recommend the honey and sesame twist or the passion fruit ribbon
Both the pastries and the shop are amazing to look at! The almond yuzu croissant, matcha cookie, and danishes tasted very good as well. Staff was very friendly and the place had lots of cute Christmas decor.
If I lived in Melbourne, I'd come here everyday. The croissant and the sesame twist are bangers.
A cute little bakery discovered on instagram. I enjoyed their blue berry danish and the plain croissant!
My fave croissant shop in Melbourne so far. It’s cute little shop with soulful range of croissants!
It’s been over a month since I came here, and I’m still thinking about the honey sesame sea salt pastry. It’s so good.
Update - came back for another visit to get the honey sesame pastry and also tried the blueberry pastry. Still amazing! Now thinking about two pastries.
The pastries here are GLORIOUS!
We got the Almond & Yuzu, Blueberry & Custard, Chocolate, and Plain croissants. They all tasted so amazing that it's difficult to pick a favourite! The croissants had a beautiful flaky crust and were slightly chewy in the middle.
I was recommended to try this place by a friend and also read a few recommendations online. I arrived at 12: 30 pm and was able to join a short queue, and was served quite promptly. However, I found that most of their options were already sold out. I ended up ordering a few plain croissants, which had good buttery flavors and were nice and crunchy. I didn't notice much oil on the paper bag either. While I would come back, in my opinion, it still doesn't beat my favourite store.
Gorgeous little place, make the pastries right in front of you! Hidden down a little alleyway. Super quick service too. No seating but was lucky enough to grab a seat on the little bench outside!
Croissants and pan au chocolat are excellent, the atmosphere is real nice and the staff are friendly.
Besides not really having anywhere to sit, the pastries and coffee are great. Plus, there is a little bit of an atmosphere out front to enjoy your coffee on the street
We finally tried Bakemono Bakers in the CBD and can see why there are often LINES here!
On our first visit we ordered:
Yuzu Almond Croissant
Strawberry & Nutella custard danish
(And the blueberry danish was unfortunately sold out)
We came back a week later and were luckily able to get the blueberry danish and it was so worth the trip!
The yuzu almond croissant was flaky on the outside and the yuzu and almond flavours went so well together. The yuzu was subtle yet noticeable, which was delicious! 9/10
The strawberry and Nutella custard danish was beautifully crafted with generous amount of custard filling and topped with fresh strawberries. The strawberries were on the sour side, the Nutella custard was a bit runny and the flavours weren’t there for us, so we didn’t enjoy this one as much. 6/10
But the star of the show and 5 star rating goes to the blueberry danish. It was perfectly flaky and the custard and blueberry was an incredible combo, along with the generous topping of fresh blueberries and crumble on top. I would come back for this! 10/10
Lovely pastry. The place is decent. Loved the cold drip i had with my delicious strawberry Danish pastry.
A cute little bakery tucked in one of Melbourne’s many alleyways.
We got the Almond and Yuzu, and Ham and Cheese croissants with some coffees to go.
Both croissants and coffees were delicious, and the other pastries on display looked delectable so I doubt you can go wrong here!
Almond croissant is very nice. Not too much sweet, not too much buttery. Just GOODGOOD! And also long black is perfect. No seat there, but I would like to visit again. Be worth going to! I just only expected about croissant, but I think their really good at coffee as well as bakes. Awesome
My favourite bakery in Melbourne city. Pastries are made with skill, love and great attention to detail
Friendly service, delicious pastries. I ordered the strawberry and Nutella danish. The pastry was crunchy and airy without being crumbly so no mess. The Nutella was like a chocolate custard, there was also strawberry jam and a beautiful layer of glazed strawberry slices on top. Definitely will try again.
The pastries from this place are my absolute favourite. I highly recommend the blueberry custard danish. The melon pan would come as a close second. I ordered online and picked up the next day. If you want to stand a chance and even buying pastries after 11 I would say order the day before, so you can pick up
A solid contender amongst croissant aficionados such as Lune and Agathe, Bakemono is slowly cementing its position as one of the best bakers in the Melbourne CBD. Be sure not to miss out on their yuzu, blueberry and sesame croissants! No dining in, coffee’s worth a try.
