Axil Coffee Roasters reviews
67Great coffee, unfortunately Axil still refuses to use keepcups when every other cafe in Melbourne is. The girl behind the counter said that “if it makes us feel better” they could make our coffees in disposable cups and pour them into the keepcups. We’ve just moved into the area and could have been regular customers, however we took our business elsewhere
In general Fritters and brunch were good. Coffee average. There was a such a weird situation though when ordering pancakes: We read that pancakes came with black sesame ice cream. However, we wanted just the ice cream, then we ordered only the ice cream and willing to pay for its price, the waiter said that it was not possible, but we could order smaller size of the pancakes just for the ice cream, then we did it only for the ice cream. Then the pancakes were served with vanilla ice cream. We claimed our black sesame ice cream which ended up coming itself and ended up paying for the whole thing️️
Had a hot chocolate and the egg bake, both were fantastic. Staff very friendly and service was speedy, highly recommended!
Wonderful coffee (you'd hope so, given they are a roaster too) and tasty lunch. Next time warm the avocado so it doesn't cool down the toast too quickly
Arguably the best coffee in Melbourne. Great variety of beans for any palate, beautifully made hot coffees and some really outstanding cold varieties. The staff are always friendly and professional and you can see them take care in everything they do.
You will never have a bad coffee here. You will always have a great coffee here.
Best coffee in the area at least. Hard to say if it beats Seven Seeds or St Ali, they’re all so good I can’t rate one better than the other.
Best coffee in Melbourne since I’ve tried many and I’m very fussy about my coffee. Need to be extra hot on top of pleasant aroma. Lucky I live close to this cafe, and it’s my go-to cafe every morning.
I’ve tried their shops on Glenferrie road and in Chadstone shopping centre. The quality of coffee there is far not good and stable as this one. Highly recommend.
It’s a shame that customers cannot eat in these days due to the Covid-19 lockdown. It’s sad to see the empty seats. Even the big plant at the front looks depressed. Staffs are still in good spirits and always friendly. Hopefully, this restriction will be relaxed soon.
I almost didn't walk in as it had a very "Real Housewives" vibe going on, but glad I got over myself and walked in. Friendly staff, online visual menu accessed by QR code which lets you SEE the food on the menu. The Guatemalan coffee was fantastic, so I had two. Highly recommend the Croque Madame. Great flavour throughout. The apple and fennel gave it some much appreciated freshness. Would highly recommend coming here and will be back once lockdown part 2 is over
We ordered red velvet pancake, & fritters. & hot chocolate & flat white. The taste of food is not matched with what we paid. It's under normal & overpriced. I think they just heated in microwave. The milk that was used in the making coffee & hot chocolate is really bad quality. Also, the vibes was awful, I feel like we were put in a storage, no colors & no windows, so there is no fresh air. This review is written based on our experience with a lot of restaurants in Melbourne, which offer delicious & healthy food at a reasonable price. Overall, we don't think that we will back again.
I came here and ordered the zucchini corn fritters with haloumi and fries, the fries took a while to be made and in turn my meal was cold and it was missing any resemblance of haloumi which for me is half the dish. Very disappointed as I was excited to try this place.
Nice to get a local roster that experiments with different flavours with coffee. It's something visitors have to try when you visit Melbourne.
The best quality coffee and food. Very friendly and professional staff. If you like to make your own coffee at home, this the right place to shop for the coffee beans or even coffee machine accessories.
I really love Axil coffee roasters it has such a groovy vibe and good coffee! However they need more of a range of dairy free selections. I could only choose out of the porridge and the salad off the menu for this season, so ended up creating my own eggs with toast. Apart from that I love the place but only wish they had more selections for dairy intolerances. Will probably skip going for this season until the menu changes again!
The food here is absolutely terrible, the crispy chicken with health bs is absolutely awful. It wasn't even crispy and the bean sauce had a terrible flavor and texture and the kale pesto makes the chicken so gross I almost had to spit it out. The spicy omlette is overfilled and has a terrible salad to accompany it. The coffee we had was burnt and the iced mocha also tasted really bad with the dark chocolate they put in it. Please save your time and money and don't come here, it's just bland overpriced pretentious health food. Go to the pub next door if you want edible food.
I can think of billions of ways i'd rather spend $80
Impressive. Good coffee. Noisy but at a level that allows conversation without strain. Doubles as white noise in effect!
Average brunch, average coffee, its ok for what it is, but nothing special. Gets super packed and noisy, so not good for any meaningful conversations, if thats what youre into.
A great fancy restaurant or cafe place. They have great customer service there & know how to look after you & your group. The meals were great too!
Wonderful modern cafe in the heart of Hawthorn. Large, airy and modern interior. Outdoor seating just off the street, perfect for watching busy people go by.
Excellent coffee, and the food was delicious too.
Arrived ona Saturday morning and it was quite busy. The coffee was good and the service was terrible. It took over 20 minutes for the staff to take our order Andretti waving them down.
Staff fab, biggest avocado smash ever, first time trying chai latte it's unbelievably delicious recommended by a lovely waitress move over flat white
