Australian National Aviation Museum reviews
57Awesome collection or planes and helicopters which have great fact cards and have been meticulously restored. Loved sitting in cockpits of multiple helicopters and planes. Great place for families with kids. Has disability access too
Nice place, they have a couple of aircrafts you can sit in. My 5 year old daughter loved it. It wasn't too busy either.
Grand kids, love seeing and sitting in them, pretending to fly them, everyone had a great time
Didn't go into the museum but hi has a look on the outside very nice I was more interested looking at the plane taking off at Moorabbin Airport there is a small area where you can go and watch the planes take off
Absolutely fantastic museum with a great variety of big, small, military and non military aircraft. The only air museum I've been to where you can interact with the aircraft, climb in the cockpit etc. Much better than just looking at a static display.
My kids haven't stopped talking about this place. They loved being able to climb into various planes and especially the police helicopter. Great place to visit, but not very big, so you'll get to re-do all the planes/helicopters another time or few. Lots of information for the adults to read and learn also.
Had a great kids party here in the hangar. Staff were friendly, such a great place for kids to explore planes, helicopters and some aviation history.
Absolutely amazing place. Staff wonderful. Receptionist today and Ron the guide. So helpfiul. My husband enjoyed his private visit with Ron with DC2. Thanks for a great day out. Annette and Ray Palmer from England.
A well spent Sunday here at Moorabin Air Museum, loads to see and touch, great place for both kids and adults. Entry tickets were reasonable priced.
The planes are amazing and the commentary offered by the staff on various aspects of some exhibits was really enlightening.
Went on Friday just before lunch time with my four year old and we were there for close to three hours, he thought it was amazing. Great place I'm sure he will want to go back again
Great Museum - great way to spend a few hours. Love that you can go into the planes to view what they look like inside. Pretending that your a pilot is heaps fun!
Got to say, one of the best museum experiences out there. At least 80% of the aircraft you can sit in and get into the cockpit with sturdy safe platforms to get up in there. The shop is great and we sat outside with an ice cream wondering why the Australian War Memorial doesn't do this. The kids loved it. Great to do every holidays.
I love the TAA viscount. The museum was closed when I was there, so I took photos through the fence. Congratulations on the Moorabbin Air Museum for acquiring a Vickers Viscount. It’s a magnificent aircraft! It was a most magical experience to fly in one back in 1967. Unfortunately the plane is deteriorating. For some reason they have not put the elevators or vertical stabiliser back on. Why is this? I hope there are some people with lots of money who can help them out and get the Viscount back up to its shining beauty. I wish it could be expanded and a fee more passenger aircraft added. DC3? DC4? DC6? Electra? Constellation? But I LOVE the Viscount.
It's good place to spend time with kids. Liked simulation airplane which has 3d effect. Price is very low with adults 10 dollar and family of 2 +2 is 20 dlR
Certainly good to visit once but most of the planes are outdated, might be the time to add more newer models and expand the museum for a comprehensive experience.
This has been my favorite place to go with my family for years. There are so many planes that are awesome to looks at, and even more that are amazing to get in. The staff are always lovely. No matter how many times you come here there is always more to do and explore in this amazing place.
Amazing and wow experience. I recently visited this museum and was quite impressed with aircraft’s and planes they have there. Most of them are open to public to climb and have feel of sitting in the cockpit of a fighter plane. Flight simulator was the best. It had a lot kids birthday parties as well the day we visited,
definitely a great place for kids and Adults as well.
Must visited place!
Fabulous. The grandkids (and their grandad!) thoroughly immersed in the 'hands on' experience rather than roped off static displays of many other museums. Eagerly awaiting the proposed site extensions.
