I have got spawn from a few suppliers and have got contamination and since I have got spawn from Aussie mushrooms I have not got one single bit of contamination at all all of my shiitake blocks are all white no problems at all my white oysters have no problem at all my blue oysters have no contamination at all I would highly recommend Aussie mushrooms

Purchased several items, and a few were left out. Upon contacting Aussie Mushroom Supplies about the issue they were quite uncommunicative and short. They ended up refunding me for the missing items, as per request, minus a 10% transaction fee. They then said this was in line with their refund policy, despite this refund occurring due to their error. They did not communicate that a fee would be withheld, nor offer me other remedy options.

The grow kit arrived dripping wet, and they were again not very helpful when I had questions. The kit only provided one flush, despite me following the instructions carefully. The grain spawn bags also appeared damaged. I wiped them down with isopropyl and used micropore tape to cover the problem areas and thus far haven't seen contamination, but they simply stopped emailing me when I brought this to their attention.

All in all, really disappointed. I've moved on to Root Lab, who have been wonderful. Would have loved to buy a laminar flow hood from Aussie, as nowhere else really seems to sell similar ones, but I have zero trust in the company now.

If all goes well you can get decent things for decent prices, but if something goes wrong you're on your own. Pretty terrible customer service.

[Edit] To contextualise Russell's response, he did not send an email explaining why bags were cut, and responded to an email in which I said, "Both mushroom kits were very wet and leaking, " with "from the photos they all look nominal for those species". To say that I did not tell him the bags were leaking is false, misleading, and quite frankly strange. It's the kind of behaviour that's indicative of why I now feel uneasy about Aussie Mushroom Supplies, along with his trash talking competing small businesses.

Furthermore, it's quite unimaginable that a company would charge a customer for their own mistake. I was not told that new bag were being sent out, I was told "iv sent a note to my staff re the 2 missing bags". This could mean anything, and I was not informed that they would withhold the PayPal fee if I chose a refund, nor that I had the option for a replacement. Communication was poor across the board.

Terrible to say the least at staying in contact with customers ive called more then 10 times emailed about 6 left messages and have had one reply will be looking for another supplier in the future

Great quality products at great prices. Can't ask for more! I've ordered from Aussie Mushroom supplies multiple times now and I haven't had any issues regarding product quality, service, shipping/handling. Will be ordering more from them in the future.

I've ordered a couple of kits from these guys. They're really fast with dispatching. I've been able to get multiple flushes, and the trip from Victoria to Brisbane didn't seem to impact the kit at all. I have had kits from other companies that never fruited. Very disappointing and expensive.
The boxes the single kits come in would make great gifts, they're really well presented. I totally recommend the Lions Mane mushroom kit - it's a really cool looking mushroom and tastes great fried with a little olive oil, and very filling. I'm looking forward to buying more kits in the future.

I would give it 5 stars but for the poorly implemented website, great products and the pre made agar works great. The ordering and cart system is a little whack and needs to be fixed. I accidentally ordered 40 agar plates instead of 20 but in the cart it said the price was just over $100 but when the order went through it was $130ish mark. It needs to be more streamlined, one thing that would make it easier is to change the amount within the cart itself.maybe it can be done but I could not find it.

I highly recommend the grow kits: especially during lockdowns! The online instructions were very helpful, which meant I could order the plain bags and avoid excess packaging. I live in Melbourne and the shops within 5ks of home usually only have sad, old, soggy mushrooms (if any). I ordered last week and the kits arrived very promptly. Soaked the shiitakes on day 1 of lockdown #6 (Friday) and they are doing so well after only five days, even though I don’t really know what I am doing! Going to put them gills up in the sun when I harvest them to amp up the vitamin D. Thanks for the easy to navigate website, online information, quick delivery and fantastic products! Only problem is my family and friends are getting sick of mushroom updates:)

I love almost everything about this amazing business, simple as that, I have ordered from them many times over.if you’re a self hobbyist and curious mycologist, the support to create a mycology hobby is incredible, the products are great except some things i can say is unfairly priced include products like their Isopropyl alcohol 1L now; I have a Chemical solvent business that sells me 5 litres for $30.00! I enjoy the quick shipping and support from these guys though and will continue with ordering. 5/5!

Russell has the best range/prices in Australia hands down. While at times slow on the email (cause he works 100h weeks) he will look after you if there are any issues. They are very busy for good reason. Looking to setup my own supplies store from home and maybe my own farm one day.

Awful customer service, received 75% of the items damaged in the mail, but seller refusing to issue a partial refund for shipping, frustrating!
