Atta Restaurant

One of the best Indian restaurants in Melbourne.
Their dine in experience is stellar - the manager of the restaurant will personally greet all his customers and make an effort to cater to all dietary requirements and concerns.
The food itself is quality, precise and delicious!
Take away from Atta is good, but if you want the real deal take the time to book a table and get a full course meal, the presentation of the food is an art form!

I made a booking for 2 people for 9pm on 19th May 2021. I got a confirmation email from atta as attached showing that the table has been booked for 4 hours from 9pm to 1am. We reached Atta at 9: 15 pm and are told that the kitchen is closed and they cannot take any orders now. I told them that I had a booking at 9pm and I gto a confirmation email also. After confirming with the kitchen we were simply told that they cannot take our orders. We came all the way from Doncaster after a 45 min long drive for food and we were sent back by the staff without any hesitation.
The food might be good (We didn't get a chance to taste it), but the customer service, hospitality and accountabilty of the restaurant was zero. The restaurant didn't make any efforts to rectify what actually was their mistake of accepting the reservation and sending us email for 4h slot being booked. We had to pay the price of losing our 90 min on travel without any assurance or efforts from their side.
Atta definitely needs to step up its game and make sure they don't take reservation when they can not serve and waste other people's time.

An authentic Indian Fine Dine Restaurant with beautiful ambience, soul soothing and brain freezing cocktails and lip-smacking cuisines with unique preparations, this place is a must visit if you are an epicure. The entrees were really amazing especially the salmon, so well cooked and perfectly presented with a mustard chutney. The cocktails were a delight! The staff was courteous and very amiable. This has to be one of the best Indian restaurant in Melbourne.

Have been dining at Atta since their inception, over the years I have loved their food, every single time. I have hosted several functions and enjoyed some amazing meals with many of my close friends and family. We love the service provided by Brij and his team in front of the house while Harry & his team is cooking some of the best Indian food in their open kitchen. Highly recommend, if you are after quality service, great vibe, paired with amazing food & wine! Keep up the great work Team Atta.

Went to Atta restaurant last night with my friends after reading the great reviews and were very excited! I'm Indian so I know you can't get the traditional Indian food in Melbourne but was looking forward to it. The setting was great but the service not so much. We had to ask for menus and to be seated as well. The wine list was great but the waiter just left it to us to pour.not a great start. The entre came out warm-ish/cold and was not overwhelmingly great to be honest - at $30 an entre! I asked the waiter to please have the mains served at hot temperature. Sad to say, my Oz friends did not enjoy the food that much either. For $500 dinner (4 people), we expected great service and good. Wouldn't recommend it and don't see us revisiting in the future.

Loved the chicken Chettinad and biryani. I have given one star less as service was slow as they were very busy but that can be solved I think.

Amazing! Not only is the food spectacular the service is impecable. My boyfriend left his hat there and they held it for us and I took my mother there for mothers day to show her my favourite restaurant and she had never had better indian food in such a unique way! 10/10

Amazing taste and amazing customer service. We had an official dinner today and our guests were more than happy with the hospitality.

Visited this restaurant last Saturday and the food was really delicious. The Bryani was so fluffy and aromatic with the chicken seasoned spectacularly. Lamb Korma was full of flavor, tender and cooked perfectly. The butter chicken was much better than the average ones you get around town. Give this place a go of you are in the area.

Do ask for your curries to be prepared spicy. The Korma could still be spicier for my South East Asian taste buds.

Nice atmosphere, friendly and attentive staff, and a high level of attention to detail was evident in each of the dishes. Great flavour.

Amazing experience in past 2 visits. But today pretty turnoff.

I was trying to book the table for 8 adults and 4 kids and they said you have to go for a set menu.which is bit odd. Forget about 8, I will not even there by myself. Manager (I know the name, but.) was also bit rude as well.

I think i have had better indian food in Melbourne, in terms of the vegetarian options that we tried out, the Veg Dum Biryani with raita and Nagreshi Kofta with naan. The food was alright and spicy as requested. However it was quite heavy. In saying that the ambiance was perfect! The service was fantastic, the staff were able to recommend dishes and give advice on the ordered items and if that would be too much or appropriate.
I would suggest to make a booking before you head down. Might come back to try out the deserts and maybe the other veggie options on the menu.

Extremely good Indian food in Melbourne. Great value in terms of size and quality. Impeccable service. Great wine and drinks list also at great prices. Amazing space and atmosphere. Cannot fault this place.

The food is amazing! My partner and I have been looking for an authentic Indian with a modern influence and this is it in a nutshell. The staff are lovely the atmosphere is so inviting and most importantly the food and drinks were outstanding! I cannot wait to go back.

2 stars! High-end restaurant with low-end service.
The service is a classic blow to the ambience of the restaurant. The wait staff is not attentive at all, even after asking for ordering the main dish 4 times. It makes it difficult to pay that much of a price for the food and service for the kind of which is been offered there. As much as I would have liked to visit the restaurant again on first thought I would NOT and wouldn’t recommend as well.

We didn’t have a reservation and they were fully booked but they made room for us. Best Indian food I’ve had in Melbourne! The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the staff were really friendly and attentive. Will definitely go back again soon.

Although the food service was slow, loved the taste and quality of food. Ambience, customer service, food plate up was top notch!
