Arid Garden, Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne reviews
96What a amazing garden, just walking around is good for your mental health. Such diversity. Cafe and gift shop are worth a visit as well. Staff are extremely friendly and informative. It is worth a visit.
Great day out, lots of walking, fun things for kids. There is a bus for anyone who can't walk around it all.
We popped in by accident really and we are soo glad we came. Firstly it is FREE and it’s huge! You can walk around here for an hour or 2. My favourite part was the red desert section which is amazing. You can also see the red desert from the visitor centre that has decent toilets and a cafe
A gem for those that appreciate Australian native plants. One of my regular visiting places. The Friends of Royal Botanical Gardens Cranbourne have a growing and propagation centre for members. They also have a public sale weekend each season.
My visit this time was to collect a range of Neutrog garden products ordered through The Friends.
Entry to the gardens is free.
There is an onsite cafe / restaurant and a coffee kiosk.
Rode bicycle to Cranbourne railway station and then rode to and from the park. A very enjoyable visit which in included seeimg a pair of tawng frog mouth owls.
Beautiful, peaceful, well laid out, huge carpark, good Cafe, wheelchairs and motorised chairs available to hire.
Only sounds that of birds and happy children.
Didn’t know quite what to expect there but it was well worth a drive and a wander around. The gardens aren’t lush and what you’d normally in a city centre botanical gardens, but they cover different landscapes with some modern, brutalist features. Well worth a visit.
The cranbourne botanical Gardens is a must see place for everyone and I love that it is only 5 mins away. They have a water play area. Great spots for you to sit and have a picnic and a play for the kids. There is a shop if you need to buy some drinks and food at a very affordable price. There is a gift shop and information centre. Sue who does the tours on the bus is incredible very friendly and knowledgeable. It is a place for all ages and time restraints you could spend all day or a few hours and not be bored. Make sure your camera is charged to get those beautiful pictures. There are plenty of toilets on your Journey through the garden. Some shaded areas. Be sure to take a hat and sunscreen though
What an amazing place. My kids ️ 'd it. We spent 4 hours in the Gardens and could have stayed for longer.
Great place to visit to really appreciate all the different plants, trees and gifts of nature. Plenty to see and lots of variety.
Stopped here on the way to Phillip Island, and we’re glad we found this place. It’s a really pleasant place to hang around, everywhere is photo worthy and it’s very clean. Seems like a nice place to have picnics in if you want to spend the day here!
One of the best gardens I've ever been to. Lots of wildlife and so many native plate gardes of so many themes, bioms and colours
The water feature is an excellent place for the kids to have fun. Lots of plants and trees and flowers.
They have added some umbrellas, but too few, it can get very hot on some days. More umbrelas would help.
The toilets and the Cafe and the seating are all very well maintained and good.
Great place to go for a relaxing walk no matter what age. Nice picnic areas and lots of native plants. Plus it's all free.
Great place to visit. Very different from the botanical garden in the city. Shows a large variety of native Aussie vegetation.
Lovely gardens with Australian native flora. Very original set up with winding path and frequent resting spots in cool shaded areas or under the sun. There is also an instalation win steps and runing water for the kids to enjoy. The park is very large with a nice picnic area and playground. Native animals can be seen along the walks.
Beautiful ambiance, quite a long walk for the older generation (like me) so take the little bus and support the volunteers. Then have a coffee and cake after. Their are picnic areas and large expanses of water, overall a great piece of architecture that captures the Australian "feel".
Fantastic by chance we found this place the gardens were terrific and wildlife Great. Very helpful staff, loads of places to have a lunch and a food store located near the lake. We also went into
The woodlands park located on the right of the car park at the end which had kangaroos bbqs and a play area well
Worth the walk.
Wow,
The detail that has gone into creating and now maintaining this eco system is astounding.
.
What a beautiful experience with nature mixed in with intelligent human design.
Thank you️, this is why we must all pay our council rates for the construction and maintenance of beautiful places like this.
