Apollo Café

The male staff here was really friendly. The coffee was delicious and the store was spacious and comfortable. It's a great cafe that I want to go to again.

What a shame at what's become of this place.

I used to frequent the Apollo many times back when Russ and Mel ran the coffee and kitchen. How far the apple has fallen from the tree it seems since. The new owners clearly have very little hospitality/cafe experience, and the menu is very greasy and underwhelming. The coffee is also now very inconsistent, as they seem to churn through staff at a rate of knots. Micromanaging your team, installing quirky furniture, and not knowing how to actually run this kind of business reflects on your team, on your venue, and your lack of attention. Focus on people, focus on building a great team, actually train them, build a following, and you'll find an audience. A real shame as it's such a stunning space and so much opportunity here.

Lots of great cafes now in West Melbourne to opt for instead I'm afraid. Anyone who reads this: Moon Mart / Lumen / Hunters / Hot Poppy / Udom House / Roasting Warehouse etc.

Super chill place but don't go if you're in a hurry! I waited a long time for my take away order, but it's a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The food was delicious and the coffee, albeit a very small "large", was good. I can imagine it would be a great place to have a working lunch from.

Great fit out, comfortable seating. Very tasty food, coffee exceptional. Keep up the great service.

From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the friendly and welcoming service of the staff. They were attentive, helpful, and made sure I felt right at home.

The coffee was definitely a standout for me. The baristas clearly know their craft and take pride in brewing a high-quality cup. I opted for a latte, which was perfectly balanced and had just the right amount of foam.

I also tried the scrambled eggs, which were cooked to perfection. They were light and fluffy, with just the right amount of seasoning. It was clear that the kitchen puts a lot of care and attention into their dishes, as everything I tried was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared.

But what really set this cafe apart was the live music on Sunday. It was a real treat to enjoy some great tunes while sipping my coffee and digging into my breakfast. The musicians were talented and engaging, and it really added to the relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere of the cafe.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this cafe to anyone looking for a great cup of coffee, delicious breakfast options, and a fun and lively vibe. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the live music was the cherry on top. I'll definitely be coming back!

From New York to Melbourne. We could never find a good coffee in New York but we have found it a Apollo.

Great food and service to match. New menu and the Indonesian corn fritters are on another level. Mouth left tingling with the chilli, lime and coriander. Well done chef?

Russ and the team are always so happy to see you and treat you like a friend.

Great coffee (super sweet coffee art) and really tasty food - the chilli scrambled eggs were up there with some of the best I've had. Lovely staff, welcoming and hospitable

Delicious food. Fresh and flavourful juices. Great coffee. Cheerful efficient service. All equals a lovely breakfast.

Amazing coffee and tasty toasted sandwiches. Highly recommended for any coffee lover. Not our local but one of our favourites and we come past whenever we can.

the people down at Apollo Café know what there doing, the baristas are friendly and happy to have a chat the chefs definitely know there way around a kitchen and the wait staff are some of the most nicest people I've had the pleasure of meeting.

One of my favourite cafes in Melbourne. The Apollo is on the site of old Apollo Gym. It features a quaint vibe and brekkie, brunch and lunch menu.

The coffee is above most and the staff is friendly, always greeting patrons with a smile.

Recently moved into the area and was told to give this place a try. Certainly wasn't disappointed with the food/coffee or the service.

Everything was fantastic and they were dog friendly.

Will be back again on a regular basis.

Rushed in for takeaway and they served me quick and with good advice on which food item to pick to get out quickly. Had enough time to eat it before work started too!

Spacious and lovely staff. Interesting flavours combination which worked really well. It wasn't crowded either although we went there at around 9am. The fried chicken in waffle I got was nice, it had bacon in it, however it was a little dry, could do with more sauce on it.

Great scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and mushrooms. Also very nice cappuccino. Friendly staff and clean toilets.
