Unsigned electric fences electrocuted my son who was holding the metal feed tin handed out on entry. We were feeding the pony’s who have a dedicated bin of hay for the children to feed them.
While the girl at the front did give me my requested money back, there was no apology from the owner who was told over the phone of the situation. No one asked if he was ok. There was no explanation about why the fence was on during this time.

Having running electric fences at at Childrens farm is not only extremely dangerous, but ridiculous as the animals are encouraged to come up to children who are encouraged to put their hands through the fence. It’s an accident waiting to happen and unfortunately, my little one was the one who it happened to.

It should be part of their daily procedure that fences are turned off before their opening time.

Without word from the owner, I am extremely concerned this will happen again.

Not sure why there wasn’t signs warning of live fences, as we saw them on other fences when leaving the farm… for paddocks that children don’t even approach? !

My son is now traumatised and I am worried he will be scared of farms and farm animals from now on.

We have visited this farm many times pre covid and loved it.
Since covid, things have changed, obviously…. But their system is now a self guided tour, which at a working farm, is obviously open to unmanaged hazards.
Not good enough.

Wonderful is in one world. A great place for kids and adults alike. Good for a day trip or few days day as well. You can see touch snd feed a variety of animals in the farm. Situated just 30mins away from the Melbourne CDB and rear Sunbury. The farm is situated in a huge land. You get opportunity to feed the farm animals like sheep, alpacas, ducks and chickens. Don’t miss out the lone deer they have. All these animals are very friendly. If you choose to stay at the farm, you get opportunity to pick fresh eggs in the mornings. Also to milk cows. The accomodation very comfy and spacious with all amenities. Don’t forget to bring some marshmallows to barbecue at the fire pit. They have spacious play room with barbecue and other cooking facilities. Kids will have a nice time there.

Coming back to the farm, they have various other animals like various breeds of cows, pigs, horses, birds etc.

You get to pet rabbits and Guinea pigs as well.

There cafe serves freshly made food and hot beverages.

Very disappointed. There were hardly few animals. 1 deer. 2 sheep's. Maybe 1 horse n 1 pony to see. Animals poo on every walking path. No tractor ride. 1 minut pony ride only. Kids have done in 30mnts. Not attractive at all. N expensive too. Not recomended

Took my 2 year old son and had a blast. Was a great muddy day and made the farm experience more realistic. All the animals was super friendly and approached us as we got closer to their sections. Will definitely be coming back!

Very average and over priced for what it is.i would not recommend. Bundoora or Eltham are much better value for money

Pretty nice for a day out. This seems like family run, hence can't expect hosts to be more customer focused, but they are friendly. Main host (assumed) stayed back to assist my kids to play giant Chinese checkers.

Very friendly staff, gorgeous little nursery where you get to hold baby bunnies, chicks & guinea pigs. Nice wide space to walk around to see and feed the larger animals. Pretty good cafe too - done on the bbq! Small play areas dotted around too. We'll be back!

Really awesome experience for families with kids. You can ride the ponies (any age), feed and touch cows, horses, and sheep. We also did the farm stay where you sleep there and absolutely loved it. The rooms are well renovated and very lovely inside like 5 star accommodation. Just a suggestion though, add a high chair to the room for the babies to eat. We met the owner Jo who was very nice. Defintly coming back here with the rest of my family.

The idea behind the animal farm is beautiful unfortunately, my heart is broken after being told the pony's don't get a break all day! Over all the animals seemed so hungry and were fighting over the food! Seemed like they only get fed by the visitors! Looking back at the pictures we took the pony just seemed so sad! Her eyes said it all! Piece of advice FEED THE ANIMALS AND GIVE THEM A BREAK PLEASE!

Excellent little day trip, very relaxed. Lots to do with kids and very friendly staff. A surprising amount of tables and seating for lunch.

I was amazed how much fun we had. My kids said it’s better than going to the zoo. We payed 50$ for a family of 4. I think one its of the best farm. Kids fed almost all the Animals. Had a quick pony ride of 1 minutes, you can pat and take pictures as much as you want. My kids favourite part was riding and feeding the cows and the horse. Don’t forget to wear a rain boot.

The animals are well looked after and handle children well. Entry includes a pony ride, petting zoo, a tour and animal feed for the ducks, chickens, goats, cows and sheep. The place is large enough to enjoy a long time wander around and explore, with a café, two play areas and a combination of farm equipment, animals, experiences and vegetable garden. Lovely staff and clean toilets.

I wasn't expecting much but wow we we're amazed! There's so much to do here, animals, a Cafe (shed) to sit down. Petting nursery with baby chickens, rabbits & Guinea pigs. Free pony rides with the entry fee and even pencils & paper for drawing!

Best parts were 2 play grounds which the kids spent ages at, pony ride, feeding the horses and calf's. Highly recommend. Much better than Collingwood farm!

Dislikes - few (a lot) spider webs in the male toilet but didn't bother me but I know my daughter would have freaked out if she saw it though.

We travelled 1 hr to get there and they told us it was fully booked I could understand that, but one of the staff there were disgustingly rude and she yelled out Making a scene that she doesn’t care where we came from, I will not be returning there!

The perfect farm animal experience. Staff were great and helped with my booking. Hand on and was able to bring a pram. Easy access and parking.

Had my son's 2nd birthday here after visiting previously and enjoying our day, thinking it was great for children. I made several phone calls the week prior to confirm information as I kept receiving conflicting information each time I called.
As I had a self catered party, I was encouraged to bring all my own supplies, food, drinks and even a BBQ. Luckily I decided to have all the food precooked because if I arrived needing to use a powerpoint I was then told I couldn't due to OH&S requirements, hence my guests could not have tea and coffee supplied by me. I don't know anyone who walks around with a kettle, but I would imagine a child running into someone with a hot bought coffee would suffer the same as someone with a hot made coffee (unless the bought coffee is cold?).
I had a large self catered party which was referred to as "not the real party" when I arrived. I was given all the tags I had paid for and told they would usher my guests to the barn. I was interrupted during eating with my guests for a "head count" as staff had not kept count of how many guests had arrived - I find it hard to believe my own guests did not know the name of the host they were attending the party for?
Receiving a bucket of feed for the animals is half the fun for the guests. I was told by the front desk that the 'girl in the barn' will sort out feed for my guests when she was advised which party they were attending for. The 'girl in the barn' had no idea what this meant, and when I suggested she make a pallet of 32 buckets of feed (as this was how many people I had paid for) and she give out these buckets as asked, this seemed too hard. As my guests arrived and requested their bucket we were then told not everyone could have a bucket to feed the animals. No where is this stipulated on the website, during my many phone calls, when booking the party or even when I arrived given staff knew there were several parties booked and the number of people attending the farm that day. This is extremely disappointing given this is half the appeal of coming to such a place.
What really sent me over the edge was finding out how rudely staff had spoken about my guest who asked if we could have some hot water for tea and coffee as we were not told beforehand we could not use a powerpoint for the urn. This guest was nothing but polite, and once walking away unbeknown to staff that the next person in line was also one of my guests, began to speak in such rude and derrogatory means my guest did not even tell me about it until after we had left so as not to ruin the day. It is completely unacceptable to speak this way about any customer ESPECIALLY in front of other customers.
I had contacted the farm prior to leaving this review to discuss all these issues, and was told they would speak with staff and get back to me, this was over two weeks ago, and hence here is my review.
Whilst a great place for children to experience animals, be sure to book and pay for a catered party and pay for all your tea and coffee and food or you will otherwise be looked upon as not deserving to be there. Best to also go on a day that might not be so busy so everyone can get to feed the animals.
Would have otherwise been a pleasant experience if it wasnt for rude and unorganised staff. I hope you treat others that choose the self catered party option as advertised by you better.

Had my child's birthday here today.
Staff were quite rude and very unorganised.
Asked my guests to pay after we had already paid for them, even after we worked out that she would send them to the shed and do a head count later.

We weren't allowed to use the bbq because it spreads corona.

We could bring our own food and drinks but found out on the day that we Weren't allowed to use any PowerPoints.

We couldn't use the kettle we brought and they didn't have any to use for tea and coffee.

At one point I went and ordered a coffee only to listen to a group of staff in the office make fun of my guests and complain that we wanted hot water while shaking their heads in disgust.

Wasn't allowed to get feed for the animals for all my guests because apparently the animals were fed too much earlier.

Have your birthday elsewhere.
None of my guests will be returning.

Update: Reduced to 1 star due to owner not taking accountability or responsibilty. There were no buckets left, no warnings, tables weren't enough for 32 people, etc.

Took my 2 year old to the farm and she enjoyed it so much, it was supposed to be an outing for her, instead I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE, so much laughter, the scenery, the music, the animals, sausages on the barbie, listening to waltzing Matilda, oh it was such a vibe.
I did not want to go home at all. My partner had to dragged me into the car, will be back again.without the partner this time.
