Don’t bother buying a dress from here unless you want to put yourself through a lot of distress and anger.

As any new bride is, I was super excited to find “the dress”. All was well when picking the dress. The ladies were actually very lovely and made me feel super comfortable when finding it.
However, it went south once I handed my money over.

I purchased my dress, November 2022 and was told it would arrive in June 2023. In March 2023 I followed up to confirm the arrival as I was heading to Europe in August, and ATV confirmed that it was due for June arrival.

June came. I had emailed multiple times, called, left voicemails, went to the store during opening hours (no one was there) and messaged them on Instagram and Facebook. No response. I was starting to worry as I thought they were going under as many bridal boutiques were at the time.
Took it to the next best thing, made a “style appointment” and paid money so I could walk in and confirm where my dress was.

The ladies kill you with kindness when you have an issue. They told me it should arrive in July, prior to my trip in August.

July came. Still nothing. I then received an email saying it was ready to dispatch and to finalise the final payment. Once finalised it would be 10 days until my dress would be in my hands. Meaning I could try it on before leaving, woohoo!

That did not happen. End of July came. I followed up, again and again. I was then told it would arrive 7th of August.

At this point I was very frustrated and worried these people were taking me for a run for my money.

As I was now overseas, my mum had to take over. She went into the store on the 9th of aAugust and was advised the dress was in transit but they couldn’t find it and had to lodge an investigation.
GREAT! More issues that continued to happen.

My mum even emailed the designer directly to see what was going on. Even they said it was with ATV and worried why I hadn’t heard back!

I followed up via email a few times after that and received the best response of all…
“We have no news and it is not feasible to respond to all your emails”. IM SORRY, WHAT? !
Not feasible to put a brides mind at ease when THE DRESS IS LOST? !?
A simple response of “we’re waiting for a response, not a worry” etc would suffice.
Something is better than nothing.

Please lovely ladies (new brides) do not bother. Save yourself the stress and angst and go somewhere else.

It’s not worth it.

I came back in April looking for the perfect wedding gown and after trying so many dresses on from different places also at and the veil, and after telling the ladies what i wanted they hand picked a dress out for me. At first i thought it wasnt for me but once trying it on i said yes to the dress! The ladies were both so lovely and were great with their communcation throughout the process leading up to the day of picking up the dress!
Couldnt express enough how grateful i am for their help!

Such a lovely array of dresses at reasonable prices and to the lady who helped us, thankyou! After a few unpleasant experiences you could not have made me feel more comfortable and confident in myself. Your willingness to work with my wants to make my dress my own and what I wanted was just overwhelming.

I loved my experience with the ladies at And the veil compared to the other bridal stores near by. They were wonderfully accomodating for love to try heaps on. I managed to go with the first dress i tried on there in the end. I would recommend and the veil to anyone looking for a wedding dress

What a lovley family business! We had no appointment however they let us in due to a cancellation. I am not one for dress shopping so had no idea what I wanted. I felt like they just let me be me and not rush my decision. I got a beautiful dress and was more than happy with the price.
Definitely would recommend

Terrible communication - will hold your dress until weeks before your wedding (despite it being full paid for). Steer clear of this awful store!

RUN AWAY!

If I could leave ZERO stars I would. Absolutely disgusting treatment and management in this establishment. Absolutely zero communication once you purchase until you physically arrive in store and then they scream at you and call the police.

My fiancé purchased a dress on 22/06/22 last year with a 50% deposit. We paid the final 50% on 26/10/22 and the dress was meant to be shipped within 30 days. We enquired after Christmas as to the location of the wedding dress and was told it was in Perth and that once there was room in store they would contact us.

We then enquired near the end of January as we had not heard anything and our calls and e-mails went unanswered. My sister emailed to “book” an appointment and enquire about my dress and she was replied too instantly, they also breached privacy and advised my sister there were shipping delays with my dress and that it would be here by middle/end of March.

We sent a follow up email asking if there was enough time for alterations (Given my wedding is the 5/5/23) and this was ignored. I sent further emails asking for an update and as of today 29/03/23 I had not been replied too in relation to those emails.

Being less than 5 weeks out from the wedding I contacted consumer affairs and was told to email the store requesting a refund as they had breached the Australian consumer law by not fulfilling the delivery timeframes (30 days - then an extra 60 for COVID). Currently it’s been 123 days since the 30 day period had lapsed and 153 days total since we paid in full.

We emailed them on Monday and received a response to this email that was rude advising that the gown is with the courier and that there is ample time for alterations and they reject our application for a refund.

My fiancé and mother then went into store and the second they said their names the owner and assistant started yelling and screaming. They immediately called the police and asked then to leave the store. Not even a hint of trying to assist then or to show proof that the dress had been shipped.

The owner walked out and stayed outside to wait for the police and left her poor employee in there to deal with us. The employee was more reasonable and advised that the dress was shipped from the US with the courier on the 24/03/23. When we asked for the expected arrival date they said this week.

We requested a refund in person and was told this had to be done in writing. We advised that it had already been done and they said they are not going to refunding and offered to let my fiancé look at the other dresses in store as a compromise.

We advised that due to our experiences with them we are not accepted that as a remedy and requested a refund. They again refused and the police arrived.

I will repeat it again. RUN DONT WALK AWAY to save yourself the stress and hassle. We saw the previous reviews all saying the same thing about dresses not arriving on time and ignored it. FOR YOUR SANITY. Don’t ignore this and run to a better boutique.

Too long didn’t read version: Business doesn’t communicate, is reactive not proactive, doesn’t update on dress delivery date, lies about where dress is located (shipped to Perth then back to US), has taken over 153 days since final payment to deliver (had 60) and has not delivered still 5 weeks out from wedding. Refusing refund or to give date of delivery.

RUN AWAY AND DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS BUSINESS

All of the above was written on 29/03/22 and since Management replied as per below saying it's been in store since the start of the month (ABSOLUTE LIES!). They are ABSOLUTE liars and they used the police to hide their shoddy business practices. Do not trust a word out of their lying mouths. We will see them in VCAT in 6 weeks and update as to outcome.

In response to their reply below, you emailed us on 6/4 at 5: 30PM (after store closure) advising dress was available but we cannot pick up until 12/4/23. SO IT WAS NOT IN AT THE START OF THE MONTH. ABSOLUTE LIARS. A dress ordered over 10 months ago ready for pickup 23 DAYS PRIOR TO THE WEDDING! DISGRACEFUL.

I had a great experience yesterday at And the Veil Bridal for my first time shopping for my wedding dress. I can’t remember the name of the woman who helped me but she was friendly, patient and helpful! I had a great time trying on a range of beautiful gowns and the assistants suggestions were great! I’m not sure yet if I’ll get my dress from And the Veil as I’m still early in my process, but one of my favourites so far is from here and I would be more than happy to - they gave me lots of information about the process from ordering also, and they were not pushy at all! Thank you for a great first experience!

I cam here specifically to try on Rachel Rose gowns as I saw them online and they are just stunning. I had an absolutely amazing experience and found Rebbeca to be very helpful answering additional questions I had after leaving, even getting a quote for a custom dress for me. I did not end up ordering due to falling in love with a different dress elsewhere but I was actually disappointed not to be able to order my dress with And the Veil because it was honestly the best bridal experience I had

Really lovely team! I came in not really knowing what I was after and they were so accommodating and helpful. Letting me and my party pick some dresses and they grabbed some others that they thought I would like. Such friendly, lovely ladies!

When coming to store to hopefully find my wedding dress the ladies were so lovely and welcoming and very helpful and very encouraging with trying to find the perfect dress. I quickly found my dress and was so happy to have said yes to the dress in this store!
I recently got married and the dress was absolutely perfect. Can’t Thankyou guys enough for helping me find the perfect dress and make it such a great experience! ️

I attended And the Veil for my first experience of trying on wedding dresses and had a wonderful experience where the assistant was encouraging, helpful and really listened to what I wanted and felt. It was also a very private environment. You made the experience fantastic and I know I will be back to confirm my “yes” dress soon!

Bronwyn and Rebecca were absolutely wonderful. As a plus sized bride I was, of course, self conscious, anxious and worried nothing would fit. I was dreading trying on dresses. They made it so incredibly easy and were so lovely in the process. They have so many size inclusive dresses to make you feel like a princess. I loved my dress from the minute I tried it and still absolutely adore it. Thank you ladies for your wonderful assistance and kindness. It is so much appreciated!

After a long day of dress shopping encountering a lot of judgemental sale assistance, the ladies here at and the Veil were amazing. Instantly felt comfortable, great range and collection of dresses. I said yes to the dress:)

Beyond disappointed with my experience at And the Veil, I would give 0 stars if I could. My dress was ordered August 5th 2020 and was to arrive November 2020 but didn't arrive until May 2021. Even then when it arrived the staff did not check the dress as it had actually been made incorrectly. The correct dress then did not arrive until late September 2021 and this was only after I said I would be requesting a refund as they were in breach of their own contract. Staff were incredibly rude when trying to get updates from them, kept blaming Covid which is only an excuse to a certain extent. Spending over $3,000 on a dress I would have expected some communication but no, never received ANY unless I was chasing them up via phone or email. Will never recommend this bridal shop to anyone unless they are looking to add additional stress to their wedding planning.

It was a pleasure purchasing my wedding dress from And The Veil.
My experience was incredible and I would recommend booking an appointment at this boutique initially, as you wont need to go anywhere else, I promise. A ethically manufactured and locally designed gown was important to me, and the ladies were able to guide me effortlessly, they know their dresses like the back of their hand. I said yes to a beautiful Rachel Rose gown, an Australian designer. I could not be happier. Thank you ladies.
