Amigos Hardware Lane reviews
71 Great service, we were greeted with a big smile and all interactions with staff were very welcoming.
Had the paella and it’s very tasty. Generous portion that can serve 3 if ordered with a small entree. Churros were made to perfection. Highly recommend!
A nice Mexican restaurant with good food. The staff are friendly. Is a bit pricey but overall a good experience!
The sign says 'inspired Mexican'. It was the antonyn of 'inspred' unless they meant "kind of-based loosely on" Mexican. We had enchiladas, the vegetarian was filled with refried beans and had some chopped salsa on the side, and the pulled beef was just that. Unfortunately both dishes were just bland. Spicy but bland. The rice that came with it was full of chilli even after asking for no chilli. We know mexican can be spicy but this was over the top. Wont be back.
Stopped before 4p and was told that they werent seating until 5p and happy hour was 5-7p. Made it back at 6p and was told happy hour was 4-6p and missed it. Ordered a drink and appetizer while trying to decide on dinner.
Got drink and appetizer dropped at table and server ran off before I could ask a question on the menu. Table next to me got their food and I tried to stop the server and they walked on by. Finished drink and appetizer and never saw anyone else so I went in and paid tab. Went to another restaurant for entrée and another drink.
Appetizer and drink were good. Service not so much!
Not Mexican at all. Just the deco, names and some drinks were truly Mexican. The food was totally disappointing for someone that loves real Mexican gastronomy.
Best Mexican restaurant in Melbourne, highly recommend their food it’s is delicious, the chicken crispy tacos are amazing and definitely my go to! I love all the staff they’re amazing and have such good customer service, the restaurant is cute and has a great atmosphere and very good for a date idea.or a night out with friends and family.
The food is very affordable and made quickly the chefs are also fantastic highly highly recommend they offer takeaway, dine in and delivery (Uber eats)
Staff is kind, cocktails are good, but I am very disappointed because they don't know anything about Mexican food, the menu has vegan options but waiters don't really know what vegan means. Also, the food is Indian, not Mexican at all. Too many condiments and curry, very strong, I wasn't able to eat.
Food and drink awesome. Very friendly staff but please put some padded seats somewhere in Melbourne for people who has bad hips and back. My only quibble for a fantastic restaurant.
A must visit. The paella is to die for.
Great food and service, would definitely recommend eating here, sat outside beautiful atmosphere with live music
Stopped here for lunch. Meals were delicious with lots of flavour and generous servings. Bit more on the pricy side for Mexican but a nice place to sit and people watch in the lane with friendly servers.
I ordered Nachos with beef to take away, and look what they gave me.
I don't think it was a mistake because I was the only costumer there.
I suggest you to be honest with the costumer and just say that you don't have what I asked for.
So disappointed.
Chicken honey mustard fajita was really great! Had a nice Valentine day dinner! The table was quite small tho for everything that we ordered (Fajitas, chimi changa, a bottle of water, and a jug of sangria, so there are 4 glasses as well). Aside from the table size, everything was great, service was quick, meals served in appropriate amount of time considering it was a really busy Valentine.
My partner is from Texas and picky when it comes to Mexican restaurants, but Amigo’s is his favourite in town!
Food was just okay. Staff are nice. Atmosphere inside is a bit poky and run down, too rainy to sit outside which would have been better. They wouldn’t allow us to play on two credit cards, insisted on one, which is just absolute nonsense in this day and age.
Was a bit wary due to the mixed reviews but wanted to give this place a chance anyway! We came for an early dinner and they were already out of stock for a few things we were really looking forward to trying such as the fish dishes and the churros! A bit disappointing so really wanted the rest of the food to be good - it was decent food at decent prices. Tasty - Wasn’t bad but wasn’t outstanding.
Awesome food & service. Wait staff was really accommodating everyone with courtesy and respect
In the heart of the CBD hardware lane just turns it on every night, cosy inside but on a summer evening outside is where it is at, waiting staff at you beck and call. Food on point, drinks as traditional as it gets, must try.
Amazing food, fast service even with a busy restaurant. Happy hour drinks
The Asian lady who was our waiter is fantastic at her job. Give her a raise.
We each ordered 3 tacos, each was pilled high with a clumsy mess of salad that didn’t need to be there and the chilli tacos were vile. Most annoyingly when we asked for the chilli tacos to be taken off the manager go very sarcastic with about the bill asking “did we understand it, it’s very simple” rude and discourteous behaviour when a simple apology would have fixed the evening - Don’t ask “How was your meal” if you don’t want to hear criticism
We booked a Hens night and went here for dinner. It was excellent. The margaritas are amazing! All the girls loved it
