Alternate Worlds Comics and Collectables reviews
59This place is amazing. I can't believe I didn't know it was there before today. Comics, time playing, pops, collectables, graphic novels and so on. Before you go anywhere else go here.
Absolutely amazing, they have everything you could possibly want comic related. Highly recommend visiting.
Too many options to know what to choose sometimes. Which is a good thing. Great range of items, comics and collectibles. Could do with a dusting on some of the comics on shelves.
Chilled back environment with reliable staff and products. Place can sometimes be easy to miss with no major signage. Space is a bit of a maze but constantly filled with heaps of products for the card gamers and comic book lovers.
The staff here are amazing and knowledgeable. Very helpful and are happy to try and source what you are looking for if they don't have any in store.
One of the worst places to order from online, it's almost been two weeks now and i still haven't received my comics I ordered, I've had stuff arrive from different countries quicker! Not only that but once they finally marked as "completed" they finally responded to my emails saying they didn't have certain comics. So they don't actually stock what they say they do. Poor customer service! I don't recommend this place at all.
Disgustingly overpriced comics.
Hiking up prices to extortion levels might pass in a shop paying a CBD lease but
1. Melbourne CBD comic stores are cheaper.
2. This place operates out of an industrial back lot.
I’d rather drive 40mins out of my way on principle rather than pay outrageous mark ups.
Last time I was at this shop their current issue covers were curling from moisture absorption. That’s what you pay premium for. A cold, damp, inadequate comic shop.
Cute place were you can find all your comic book needs, for awhile my husband was into comic books and I would buy him gift cards for the store. Helpful staff. Small and intimate shop!
Enjoyed the experience amazing variety of comics, graphic novels and paraphernalia
The only thing I'd suggest would be the staff need to be a wee bit more attentive
Used twice and both times items end up been out of stock; topped off with poor service and rudeness.
The owner is rude and not helpful, he will happily rip off people who want to buy singles and not negotiate on prices. The customer service needs to improve as it's a huge problem, the owner should assist the other staff member's with sales everyday of the week as it just doesn't happen at all. As this is a big problem, the prices of stock need's regular updating of everything in store including the singles as it's just too expensive. Best thing to do would be buy online what your after or go elsewhere.
It’s amazing never seen so many cards and comics!
#edit# it has way more stuff but I like the card section course it has my favourite card games like Yu-Gi-Oh! Pokèmon and way more! The staff were really helpful and friendly I suggest to go here.
It's such a fascinating place.
You can get lost in it for ages first time.
A very cool place to have a browse at!
The kind of place that tells you something is in stock so you make the 1 hour drive out there only to be greeted by a dude who could not care less and reeks of weed telling you it’s in the warehouse and he can’t get it so “maybe come back tomorrow. ”
Go anywhere else. Or buy online.
A large warehouse style comicshop. Worth searching their database for those older issues dificult to find elsewhere.
Best comic shop I know. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. HUGE range, all genres and publishers, good pop culture toy selection as well, reasonable prices. They will really look after you with standing orders of your favourite series.
The range of manga they have is pretty good but trying to get something ordered in is awful. They frequently will take down my details and then never enter them into the computer. Also a lot of the manga that is on the shelves seems to have been exposed to the weather as they look quite yellow. Take your business elsewhere and order online.
False advertising at Animaga. Manga Books advertised at $5. At register charged double. When questioned, owner would not honor price. Avoid.
