Avoid! Hopeless rude service. Misplaced expensive items and they do not care.very disappointing.

Very poor customer service, item was not ready on time. When staff member was challenged, that I was not happy to pay full price for an item not ready and poor workmanship. I was given many poor excuses.

Definitely do not go here. Not only do they overcharge. I asked for my bridesmaid dress to be floor length just touching showed a picture. Tried it on with heels she pinned it showed it to her again to confirm. But somehow when I got it back it was ankle length. Not sure how they could screw it up so bad. They refunded the alteration amount.

Took my daughters school dress in last week to get it taken up for the new school year. Was told it would be ready Saturday, came in monday and guess what? They have lost the dress. Told me they would look and call me in 30 mins.i waited 45 mins and arrived back at the store and the owner said they will give me money they cant find it. No apology for it just ill give you money.

Was refunded the cost of a new dress and the $35 charge for the alteration then had to spend the next couple of hours going to get a new dress and getting it taken up.found a new alteration place that only charged me $12 for it to be taken up.

Wont be coming back to this place again.

Hopeless! Overpriced and under delivered. Rude customer service also.

Dont bother!

What I liked: -
1. Open at a time many businesses were closed for the New Year.
2. Space for changing was a comfortable size.
3. Process of marking the place on my dress where the new hemline would be was efficient and timely.
What I didn't like: -
1. Request for cash - the ATMS were a long walk away.
2. The garment was returned without a hanger, bundled on the bench and various bags were offered to take it home in, all pre-used. Expecting a bit more care for a dress over $600.

Great results! Going to look great for my wedding, nice and friendly staff. Would recommend! Thanks guys

I took my wedding dress in to the dry cleaned. I was charged $280 and it came back shoved in a bag and had fallen off the hanger. I asked if she could fix it and bag it nicely, she pretty much said no and just kept shoving my dress in my face to take it. Don’t bother using this place. She is rude, doesn’t apologise and doesn’t care.

Place is absolute trash. Unskilled in measuring and alterations. They don’t know how to taper pants.

I’m absolutely DISGUSTED and will never be returning to this business. I took a dress in to get hemmed, I needed about an inch and a half taken off of bottom. My overall experience was poor. The owner is very hard to communicate with as she speaks very little English, I’m new to having my clothes altered so when she charged me $55 for the one dress being hemmed I didn’t realise it was massively overcharged. She also pushed me to pay cash even though I only had card, I had to actually leave and come back with cash. They had my dress for a week and I picked it up the night before I was due to wear the dress for an event and it hadn’t been hemmed at all. No length taken off the bottom. It was the EXACT same length as it was before I had taken it in - I was rushing and didn’t check it before I left, I’ll never be making that mistake again. Please save yourself and do not go here.

The manager/owner lacks people skills, very rude. Also i was asked to pay cash yet no discount for cash.very strange.overall shop around and find a place that is friendly and not rude

Nancy is amazing at Karingal Alter it! She provided advice and alterations at extremely short notice for my 'mother of the bride' dress back in March. As promised, she had the dress ready for me to collect. I would not hesitate to ask Nancy to do alterations for me in the future. She is a real gem and I'm a very happy customer. Jennifer

This Alter It is located inside Karingal Hub in Frankston. This is my ugly experience: Few months back I had some dresses shorten in this shop. The price was $ 15 per dress. The cotton dresses did not have any lining and, it was a very simple and quick job to do. This week, I went to have 2 other similar cotton dresses made shorten and, I was told that the price was $ 35 each! - The Asian lady who assisted me had a very poor English to start with and, I told her that it was too expensive. So, she looked at the dresses again and then, offered me $ 20 per dress. She was not very polite either. This basic alteration takes less than 10 min.with a sewing machine and certainly NOT worth more than $ 15 per dress -which is a fair price. Do understand that rents are pretty high in any shopping centre - still - prices should be in accordance with the job to be done and the time it takes it to do it. Sorry but, will not go to this Alter it again.

Great work by Nancy she is work horse I use her business very often when I need alterations and my shirts dry cleaned. She is exceptional and will go out her way to help you. Like she does me will always use her services.

While done in a timely matter, the mold was not removed from my clothes as I had specified on drop off. I wasn’t aware of this until I took the clothes home

My mother asked there if she could have a top fixed that she’d tried to stitch and if she could bring them in the next day have it unstitched and fixed properly that lady said yes to bring them in.she came in the next day and the lady she dealt with that day was so rude she refused to take it and told my mother to ‘no we don’t do that just go buy new ones and rolled her eyes and made faces’ and refused to be of any help.would not recommend!

TL: DR: Do not recommend.
I went to this store twice for repairs.
The first time I went they did not complete the repair I asked, and were very pushy. They blatantly ignored what I was asking and tried to do something completely different. When we finally agreed, they were then extremely pushy on payment. They pushed me to pay cash when I didn’t have any cash on me. I eventually just felt more comfortable saying I’d leave it.

I wanted to give this place a second chance so I had a skirt dropped off to get the zip replaced. After 5 hours I went to check on it to see if it was finished and they still had it waiting. I understand they could have had other orders so I came back an hour later to get it. They told me specially at the beginning they would colour match the zip to the skirt, but when I received it the zip was black, and my skirt is blue. Looking past this, the stitching had been done in an incomplete way. The stitching was bunched up in some sections, and the material had been caught and bunched up as well. They also had not installed the zip correctly. Unfortunately I would not recommend this place as I found the customer service very rude, very pushy, very arrogant, and the quality of work was absolutely not up to standard.

Service for taking up a pair of pants was scheduled for 1 week after drop off. I returned and was asked to wait an extra 15 minutes whilst it was hastily finished. The finished product was stitched with a light, beige material, onto formal black pants. I will not return and have no time to get it fixed before a wedding.

Usually get work done at Langwarrin but went here today. It's 920 and they're not open. No notice in the window to explain. Shop next door says they're usually open on time. Guess I'll go back to Langwarrin.

To the franciser's reply.

First, hope the franchisee feels better. Only point I was trying to make was that in the event of being late or absent, surely someone at the centre could have been contacted just to stick a note on the shutter. Even calling the shop next door would have helped.

But secondly, I find it ironic that I'm essentially being called out for being insensitive by a franchise that openly states it's franchisee has to work 7 days a week to 'make ends meet' and apparently also has to come into work when they're sick.

So on those grounds I'll go back and give the shop another try. Clearly she needs all the business she can get.

Did a good job quite pricey, $25 for a pocket repair - I have paid $15 in narre warren - possibly rent is higher?
