Today I saw Dr Nguyen. Forgive me for raving, but I can’t speak highly enough about this amazing person. It is rare to find such a skilled and compassionate doctor. I am so grateful to experience Dr Nguyen’s care in the context of a clinic that I have been visiting for 30+ years. Overall the care I have experienced in that time is exceptional. I highly recommend this clinic and especially Dr Nguyen.

It's always a pleasant experience visiting the Alphington Medical Centre, the reception staff are always very friendly. It's even better knowing that my awesome doctor Merrilyn Gates works there, she is a fabulous GP and always professional and careing. The pathology staff have always been great as well.

The waiting times have turned me away from this medical centre I have been going to for years. After moving a fair distance away, I still travel to see the doctors here. After being told it was an hr wait for my appointment - I mentioned wouldn’t you call patients when there is a lengthy delay and was told there were only 2 reception staff on. I don’t see this as an excuse - I think it’s fair if going to be an hr or more late that patients are contacted but it doesn’t seem to be a priority.

I could have called, but the last time I did there was over a 9 min hold.

I understand doctors are under the pump and happy to reschedule or come in later but surely a text message at least to the patients who would be affected by the delays rather than find out when you’ve arrived.

*edit - I was pleased to receive a courtesy call with my next visit to let me know the doctor was running behind schedule. This was very much appreciated.

Going to the docotor is always an expensive exercise. I'm retired, so the cost is always prohibitive. I'm not eligible for a healthcare card so I don't get bulk billed. So I tend to bunch my health needs up and see the doctor as little as possible. Not ideal, but it's what I can afford. The service provided by Shirley Au is outstanding. She is patient, informative and keeps up to date with her level of medical knowledge and actually reads my health record before responding to my current issues and before prescribing any new prescription medicines. The more doctors like her there are, the better the quality of healthcare will be provided.

It's a bit of a bitter but happy review about Dr. Ali. He has always been so considering and a caring person towards his patients. Me and my family are always appreciative of his due diligence and sad to see him leaving Aplington medical center, however very happy for him in his new adventure opening up his own clinic; Ivanhoe Family Doctors. Good luck Dr. Ali!

Was upset they cancelled my appointment without contacting me. They used to be good, Dr Ali was the only reason I came there. He treated me with respect and took me in as a new patient when others wouldnt. Even when he had too many patients. Hard to find drs like this anymore: (

Dr Ali Kolahdooz is a great doctor and also very busy. I’m a long-time patient and he is always thoughtful about my healthcare and provides an excellent service in a timely manner every time.

Also, a big congrats to Dr Ali Kolahdooz for opening up his own practice. Well done on this big occasion and many wishes for future success.

I have attended this practice for over 25 years and have had exceptional care from doctors for a wide range of issues, including obstetrics, orthopaedics, and general health as I age. Referrals to specialists and allied health professionals have been very good. I would highly recommend this practice.

Was treated in a condescending way by one of the Drs here, where’s the empathy for patients? It’s near impossible to get an appt with any GP in any clinic now, there’s no need for them to be rude or condescending.

Still provides covid vaccinations. Informative, helpful and quick service. Very happy with my experience at the Alphington Medical Centre. Thanks guys.

I have been seeing Dr Gates for over 13 years she is a wonderful Doctor who actually listens and goes out of her way to address all your needs.

Just another number… Doctor didn’t even know I was his patient despite going there for years-surely would have had that info on his pc in front of him. They also couldn’t pronounce my son’s name despite being a patient for years (again, surely you’d make a note with the phonetic pronunciation next to the name). Was concerned I was potentially having a stroke one day and they wouldn’t even take my blood pressure without an appointment. Never call to let you know they’ve received test results, you have to call them…Despite feeling totally that this clinic doesn’t give a toss about my family and me, the care was adequate.

I came late but they were very nice and accomodating as always. I would 100% recommend coming here and they’re very good with kids.

This is one of the best local clinics I’ve experienced. All the docs are good and it’s friendly and comfortable.

Rude receptionist staff. If you hate your job and people that much- maybe don't work in health care and be so incredibly offensive and rude when people ask a simple question. The doctors are fantastic and work so hard, they ought to be applauded. Great service by them:)

An outstanding medical practice and has been for years - courteous, professional, responsive. Couldn't rate high enough

All the doctors have been so great over the years I have been going here.
Dr Council and Dr Shirley have been so great with pregnancies and looking after the medical needs of my children into their teen years. Is helping one of my teens with their autism assessment journey and all it comes with.
Unfortunately they don't generally bulk bill so there are out of pocket expenses.

Doctor said I should have gone to emergency because she was off tomorrow and could not do a follow up appointment

All the doctors I have seen at the clinic over the last several years are very competent, friendly, efficient and caring.
