We had a lovely time dining at Alma last night. Had the feed me and it was a great range of food (7 dishes for 2 people), amazing flavours and a beautiful restaurant. Staff were lovely and service was prompt

Came in for dinner for 2 on Sunday. We booked a few weeks prior as we know how popular Alma is! Loved the unique paintings and dim lighting giving a romantic and personal feel.
Very impressed with the gluten free dishes considering that I am gluten intolerant! There was the feed me option available but we went for a la carte.

Entree:
Empanada - crispy and tasty! Must order
Quinoa bread - sticky texture like mochi, not sure if I liked it or not
Fried mussels in passionfruit sauce - unique blend of salty and sour
Tuna ceviche - very fresh tuna in a simple sauce, was a bit too simple in my opinion
Chorizo and cabbage - savoury chorizo balanced out with sour cabbage, high recommend!

Mains:
Wagyu rump cap - cooked to medium rare perfection, MUST ORDER! The accompanying green chimichurri sauce could’ve been blended more in my opinion
Crispy skin barramundi in moqueca sauce - barramundi perfectly pan-seared accompanied with the unique sauce. Delicious!
Cos lettuce with avocado dressing - crunchy and fresh, i liked the added crunch from the roasted pepitas however I felt it needed some cheese to add more depth

Dessert:
Caramelised pineapple with shredded coconut and lime sorbet - loved the combination of flavours, highly recommend!

Overall the food was good and unique. The service was amazing! I found staff to be incredibly attentive, welcoming and so thoughtful. They asked if I had any dietary requirements and explained their menu in detail! Really lovely people.

The menu itself has a variety of dishes and drinks to cater for different dietary requirements. After eating the savoury dishes it would’ve been nice to have something chocolatey on the dessert menu.

We really enjoyed the experience dining at Alma and highly recommend it.

Incredible food, wine, cocktails, atmosphere, and friendly service - what's not to love!

The chef's selection does not disappoint and was the perfect amount of food. My favourite dishes were the tuna ceviche, the friend cauliflower, and the braised pork - YUM! Do yourself a favour and order a pomegranate sour, or a glass of malbec - YUM!

I have to say I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the ambience. The fit out is stunning, the lighting is perfection, and the acoustics are exactly what you would want for an intimate dinner, or a catch up with friends or family. I can't wait to come back!

One of the best food places in Geelong - every dish we tried was amazing, the atmosphere was posh, and the service was attentive. I'd give 6 stars if I could.

We had the chefs choice between two people and the variety was amazing, service was flawless and the food was just divine.

Food great! Service great! Atmosphere just a tad noisy for me but I am getting old.
My only issue was having to put up with the couple seated next to us, this couple consisted of a Wine “expert” and a wannabe influenza Him, bring his own bottle of Burgundy to the restaurant (that already has a great wine list) and gets the staff to faff about opening the wine and letting home “taste” it, if it no good is he going to complain? She when the food arrived rearranges all the table and proceeds with the photo shoot when the phone light is not enough don’t panic be have brought extras omg 10 mins later food cold and the acutely eat, this went on for every dish they were served. But apart from that we had a really good time.

We had a wonderful experience. Food was delicious and the staff were friendly & attentive. Would definitely go again.

Service: wonderful, very attentive, friendly
Food: delicious, nicely presented, different to what I'm used to. Empanadas are quite like authentic Venezuelan pastelitos.
Decor: intimate, welcoming.
Back rests on the chairs in the booths are a bit far away from table so might be better to sit in a normal chair if you can choose.

Unfortunately, it was not what I had hoped for. The Hopkins river scotch was dry and more medium than medium rare and the charred corn with goats cheese tasted more like it had been smeered with watery yoghurt. I think it may have tasted better with the previous version where it had grated machengo.
So although the other dishes and atmosphere were nice, I can't give the experience more than 3 stars.
I would return but try other dishes.

Celebrated our son's 30th birthday in Alma's function room with Chef Choice dinner. Food was amazing, service fantastic, atmosphere fabulous. Thank you Alma team.

The food was absolutely amazing, the chicken was mouth watering, best chicken I have had in years!
The service was amazing, attentive and ready to ask for more drinks as soon as your glass is empty!
We left a mobile phone on the table and the staff followed us down the street to return it. If your looking for amazing food, great service and an intimate funky atmosphere then this is the place!

Been to Almas a number of times and always had great food, seamless service and lovely atmosphere. Highly reccomend.

Took my parents who were visiting from Sydney. Seriously impressed. Delicious! Great staff. First time Mum and made to feel comfortable with my pram. Get the chef tasting menu!

Service was excellent to match the food. The chicken was tender and the crispy potatoes are heavenly.
