I got pandan custard heart and pandan croissant, both taste terrible l. The pandan croissant has very little pandan flavour, and it's very oily and soggy on the inside. Too much sugar powder on the top. And the custard heart is just cold and soggy. Don't know why there're so many people waiting in the line. Usually takes 20 more minutes in the line, and definitely not worth it.

Absolutely incredible! Queue moves fast and staff are organized and efficient, definitely worth the minor wait.

Pastries were flavoured perfectly - not too overpowering or sweet but still tasty. The crunch and crisp texture was out of this world.

Love that they have a rotating list to keep things interesting. Had the rhubarb turnover and the special edition Christmas croissant and would recommend both!

The best croissant I've ever had in my life. Even though I have tried local croissants in France, this one is way better! You might need to spend roughly 15mins to be in the queue but went to quickly.
Always order plain croissant and still the best.
We also tried Flan which looks like egg tart but custard cream with croissant dough.
They kept the pastry warm and the cream was melting in my mouth. Can't get enough!

My go to Croissant and other pastry. Despite the queue they move pretty fast (unlike you Lune. Im still holding a grudge on that one).

The croissant doesnt disappoint. Their other stuffs are also good. They used to have matcha croissant but apparently they stop making it. So if whoever in charge is still reading reviews, please do bring them back. They are a favourite of my family member.

Seriously the best croissant we’ve had in Melbourne. Went back for more. Tried the Pandan croissant and Pandan flan and wish we had bought more.

Agathe is a must for a South Melbourne market visit.

You’ll be spoilt for choice for quality pastries and cakes. The lines are long but it moves fast and it’s worth the wait.

There is a lot of hype for the pandan croissant, do try it if you fancy. It’s is quite good with quite a nice hint of pandan.

My personal faves are plain croissant and a danish with seasonal fruit.

Perfect to go with a padre coffee nearby,
expect another line there.

Pastries were nice as it is their specialty.
Only going there for the Pandan Croissants as it gives an excellent representation of how croissant should be (i.e. With layers and the flakes when you have a bite)

Other pastries are relatively good

Long queue but a good place to bring tourist. Will come back if I have to bring around someone near this area.

The place is very popular. There was a queue when we went to the patisserie. We tried the croissants, they did not impress us, the croissants were crunchy but the dough was too oily. The almond croissants were not above the average one can find elsewhere in Melbourne. The prices are above the median.

Was told that i shouldn’t and cannot miss this out on my itinerary and I’m glad I didn’t! The pastries were amazing! There are some special creations like the pandan croissant and yam pastries and they were SO good. Just be sure to arrive early as the queue can get pretty crazy!

Favourite pastry is the chocolate swirl! Feel like the pandan croissant need more of the pandan flavour but still great nonetheless. Would also suggest trying the apple crumble!

Pandan galore! Very nice croissant, pandan danish and so many other flavoursome options. Only issue is that the queue can be very long and it can be pricey.

Queue even before 8am (opening time). I personally prefer the pandan croissant (sweeter and more flavour) to the flan. Paid $25 for the pandan croissant, flan and chocolate almond croissant

Take it from a french girl, this place is amazing! You have to take « pain au chocolat » that are less popular than croissants but far better:)

A trip to South Melbourne isn't complete without a stop at Agathe Patisserie - their pastries are a-DOUGH-able!?

On the menu:
Custard heart
Pandan heart
Pandan croissant
Rhubarb turnover

I LOAF the custard heart (I get it every time I come), but you KNEAD to try the rhubarb turnover, it might be my new favourite

Still waiting for the pandan & coconut combo to come back?

Came on a Sunday and there was a long queue. Fortunately the queue moved fast and we queued for about 10 mins before we got ourselves some pastries. Personal favourite was the Pear and Chocolate Danish. Giving 4 stars as I found the plain croissant to be lacking (buttery taste was not there), but I am hearing reviews and friends who came before said otherwise, so it could be very well be with the batch that I had. Would definitely like to try it again in future.

The pandan croissants are super. The smell of butter is mixed with a light sweetness of pandan cream texture and cover.

Very very popular. Long cue but fast service. Large choice of cakes. Very tasty but I didn't think anything special about the taste considering the prices.

We bought the pandan croissant, early grey croissant and cherry, almond and pistachio Danish, cost was over $25, abit pricey compared to normal croissants and danish, I normally buy. Pandan croissant had no pandan flavour which was abit disappointing. Early grey croissant was nice however can only smell/taste the earl grey tea when you eat the filling which is very little. So most of the time you are eating the croissant. I think the best would be the danish as there is more flavour throughout the pastry. However, have to admit, all the pastries are very well made. Very flake, yet crunchy and not very oily. So I didn't feel too bad to have 3 of these babies in one sitting.

One of the most popular shops in south Melbourne market. The line is usually long, but the waiting time won’t be very long. I’d like to try everything from the store because it’s really crispy and smelly!
