Afghan Rahimi Restaurant reviews
65Second time here. Very nice staff and food in the Afghan precinct in the Heart of Dandenong. Food was delicious, I recommend everything on the menu especially mantu and kabuli.
We went to this restaurant for dinner with our family. Food was delicious - we ordered lamb kebab meals and chapli kebab meals. Service was fantastic, food arrived on time. Waitress by the name of Mursal was very kind and professional.
Excellent afghani food, the banquet is great value and all the items were delicious. Service is good but can be a bit slow, staff provided free refills of rice and bread. The charcoaled meats were the stand out.
An amazing place and great service. Ordered for a banquet for early dinner and it kept on coming… For sure it is worth several visits. The staff were very kind, guided us well and ensured that we were comfortable. If you are in Melb you should make it a point to visit this place.
Tasty and presentable food. All the small dishes that we chose were delicious and ample to share completely clean between family of 7 adults and 2 children. It's a great intro to Afghan food for overseas guests. The Afghan green tea laced with fresh cardamons were lovely to end the meal. Best to book a table as it can be full, as noted by the waitress.
Had a great experience. Staff were wonderful and were able to fit us in on short notice.
The food was terrific!
Lamb shank kabuli from this place for ever! Loved everything literally except for the wood made chairs. I mean c’mon let a person sit his phat bum down on something soft while enjoying their delicious meal. 5 star for lamb shank kabuli tho no complain
I just finished my food and now ordered desserts. This is my 2nd time here in this restaurant. I have no words to explain, but awesome food, excellent service and reminds me of Kabul Restaurant in Islamabad, Pakistan.
It's my first time trying Afghan food and so far, its good. But ive only tried a couple of dishes so I need to go back and try the other ones and also I need to try other restaurants so I can compare and give better critique.
The best Afghan restaurant ever been to.
Nice staff kept us fell warm welcomed from the second we walked in.
Afghani rice and chicken tikka are definitely something worth to try!
Worst customer service, extremely disappointed. I was asked to leave, i was told to f off, this kind of attitude is not acceptable.
Food was amazing, restaurant is very pretty and clean, portion sizes were aavergae for the price and service was mediocre. Will return for the delicious food though!
Right from the royal ambience to the finger licking good food, Afghan Rahimi is definitely a place to visit. Would recommend their banquets as they give you a variety of their best dishes and they're all wonderful. Highly recommend their mantu, eggplant and assortment of kebabs.
The 2 girls, staff behaviour and customer service were extremely disappointing, rude and racist.
We went there with very high hopes as a big group but the attitude of the girl serving us was way rude and unbelievably racist.
Food is great, tables are spacious. Ordered the Banquet 1 for my wife and I and 2 toddlers. Every dish was delicious, should have ordered more.
Their bread is the only item that wasnt 5 stars.
We allowed the waiter to guide us in what to order and we’re not disappointed, with chicken and lamb, dumplings, rice, meatballs and eggplant in a tasty sauce. The food was varied and delicious. The service fast and the staff delightful. Love the decor.
I really enjoyed the food here. Plenty of authentic flavour, the decor only enhances this making for an enjoyable experience in both atmosphere and culinary delights.
We were driving for 1.5 hours to have dinner at this place.
Costy but worth it. Each and every dish maintains high quality. Best Afghan i have ever had.
We ordered 4 mix plates and served only one chatni and they said that’s how they serve bread was old was toasted in toaster no water was served on table stay away from this place they charge for tables and chairs food is not even worth one star
Today we visited Afghan Rahimi restaurant in Dandenong for lunch to celebrate my birthday. The large and spacious restaurant has a nice ambience and luxurious furnishings of marble tables and decorative chairs. It was almost full which indicated its popularity. We ordered banquet number 1 that comes with a variety of dishes consisting of Mantua (dumplings) for entree, lamb and chicken kebabs, mince ball curry, eggplant dish, afghani rice, bread, salad and dips. The quantity of rice seemed very limited to me though we are not big eaters. I voiced my concerns to Farah the manager when she came to check on us. I was pleasantly surprised when Farah told me that they served the right quantity as they did not want the food to get cold, however, you can ask for more rice or bread and we will happily oblige.
Though I did not ask for more rice, Farah not only brought another plate of the flavourful Afghani pulao, but also some lentils to go with them. I would recommend this restaurant particularly for the good service and pleasant atmosphere. The food is alright.
