Very artistic and exotic interior design/decor, the food we had are amazing, full of flavour, always ask staff for opinion for the first try. The cocktails also my favourite with lemon, lime citrus flavour. The restaurant not big and not many tables either but busy with only one FOH staff. Be patient and enjoy the atmosphere.

Cannot fault this place. Grew up eating Afghan food at my childhood friend’s home and have been chasing that quality ever since. Stunning food and flavours and the serving sizes are ample. Worth every cent and I take every opportunity to eat there. A must experience.

The food is amazing. Definitely recommend the lamb Lawand. So amazing so delicious. Though the food is little expensive but overall worth it. The owner is so kind and sweet.

These guys charged us a 50% surcharge? !? !
What happened?
We ordered the Chef's Selection platter which was $26 and Kabuli Shank $36 according to the menu in the restaurant. We went to pay; it was $62. The owner expressed shock that we had ordered "so little" for the three of us, and she changed the price to $89.70!

When we asked why, she said "oh, it's just a 15% Saturday surcharge". I looked around and I could only see one sign saying "5% surcharge on public holidays" (it was not a public holiday).

Never coming back again!

TLDR; We got charged a 50% surcharge for no apparent reason, never coming back again and you shouldn't either

I have been here a few times, and I can tell this restaurant had great Kabuli pulaw and many traditional Afghan food.
Fair price and respectful personal, just sometime here is so busy; therefore, it take times to get the order. Overall, is really nice place to have Afghanistan’s food and see the beauty of culture.

Not bad. Not great either. Super slow service. It took 15 mins just to take our order, 30 mins to get the entrees and then another 1h15m to get our mains. Food was very salty. A bit on the pricey side. Also, we paid $14 for a glass of wine that costs $10 for a whole bottle at the local liquor store. All in all, not worth it. Wouldn’t go back.

We had the mixed entree which was great for 2 and the absolute most delicious lamb curry which I’m still thinking about. We also had some type of I think pomegranate yogurt drink which blew my mind with its deliciousness. Highly recommend

Food was amazing. Lamb shank pulau was exactly what you want it to be. Tender meat falling off the bone and flavour packed rice with crunchy textures and bursts of barberries throughout. We enjoyed every dish, but the nan bread was disappointing. It may be the Afghan style and we’re used to other types of flatbread that are soft and able to scoop food up with then, but this nan reminded me of those sandwich thins you can buy in a packet at the supermarket. A small triangle that was stiff, thin and chewy. We were happy to leave them and eat everything else. Pomegranate and mint drink was divine. The pashmak on the desserts was the best I’ve tasted.
Although the owner was friendly, the service was very inefficient. Our order wasn’t written down (I always worry when wait people don’t do this. It never ends well.) and as anticipated, things were forgotten. Our drinks didn’t come until after the starters and we had to ask for them as they were forgotten. The nan didn’t come until halfway through our mains, and that was after asking for it and being told she had forgotten to put the order in. I saw 5 mins later when she saw us sitting and waiting that she had forgotten a second time as she clapped her hand to her mouth and ran back into the kitchen. We asked for a menu to look at the desserts and it never came. My husband got up and grabbed one from the register area himself. We were told the nan was on the house due to the issues, but when the bill was given to us, it was on there. I understand it was a busy night and perhaps they were short staffed, but there were no procedures and systems in place to work efficiently. Trays full of food were taken to tables and then empty trays were walked past tables full of empty dishes. When food came to our table there was no room to put it down as empty dishes hadn’t been cleared. It was frustrating to see them walk back and forth empty handed which then created problems for them that took up more time. Some simple front-of-house procedures would help enormously.
We would definitely go back because the food was so good, but it’s a shame the service doesn’t match when it so easily could with a few changes.

I just say! Perfect… like always, we had great times here with our buddies, I liked the foods, I loved the decorations and tastes, I loved everything about this restaurant.

Nice atmosphere, friendly staff, entrees tepid, mains delicious, naan bread - don’t bother.
BYO should be a bonus, however, $16.23 corkage for two people ‍️

The customer service was up to the standards expected of their restaurant.
On Friday night came to eat dinner with a friend took too long to take our orders even though we were ready to order. The meal took 45 min to come out and the staff didn’t even inform us about the wait and even forgot to bring our drinks out. We had to cancel our drinks order coz the staff and no plans of bringing it to us.

I order through ubereat and unfortunately I couldn’t eat my food. I paid $130 for nothing. Some parts were rotten so I was scared for my safety. I contacted ubereat and I got only $35 refund. Totaly unfair.

Came for a dinner on Friday night. The wait was Loong. For a table for 2, we waited 50 minutes. Once we did get a table, it took another 50 minutes for the food to come out. As it turned out however, the wait was immaterial as I would not go back even if there was instant service based on the food alone. They forgot to bring our drink and we had to cancel the drink because it took too loong I wouldn’t even recommend 1 star even.

Incredibly lovely restaurant with delicious food located in the heart of Brunswick St, Fitzroy. The restaurant has a great atmosphere with well decorated tables and traditional art and cultural artifacts positioned around the room. Without a knowledge of Afghanistan food dishes, the menu is quite hard to order from, however they provide a feed me option as well. The food was on the more expensive side however it was worth it. It was filled spices and had great flavour. I have been twice and both times it has taken 30+ minutes for the food to come out. They also have an upstairs area filled with booths so if you planning on going with a group of people I recommend requesting a table there.

Really rude staff. Treat you like you are there to have free food. No high chair for babies. Not going there again.

Amazing food. Great service. Lovely decor. We got there at 6.30pm on a Thursday night and the place was packed so it seems like this hidden gem is not so secret amongst locals.
