Adina Apartment Hotel on Flinders reviews
41The best and biggest hotel I have ever stayed at once in a life time opportunity I wish I could stay there again one day ill have to save up my money
Was very poor service and was outraged at the customer support who were unhelpful, don't recommend for others.
Upon arriving to Adina, I realised I left my license at home. Reception made it very difficult for me to check in, even though I had a photograph to support who I was. And was able support my booking on the app.
Afterwards, my wife was even unable to pay, because I had to then enter the booking.com app and write a message to the hotel saying that she was staying with me. There was a total loss of common sense during this whole process, something that could’ve been dealt with simply, was escalated to a very excruciating experience.
The hotel refused to take cash as a payment, which I had already withdrew from my account. This was stated nowhere on the website at all. This left me short on money to pay for our room, and no exceptions were made on this. We were then told we would be charged a $200 holding fee, and it would take approximately 10 to 14 days for this money to return back to my account. So this exhausted our entire budget for the trip, and our three day holiday would be hindered by waiting 14 days for the $200 to return to me. Seems like a very barbaric practice, as most hotels just hold a small amount to ensure the card is active and working properly.
Upon entering the room, it was clear this is not a 4 1/2 star motel. The carpets were dirty, the phone didn’t work, and I couldn’t call reception. The TV speakers were blown, and anything we tried to watch sounded horrible. There was no in-house movies or entertainment, because apparently the system was down. Simple thoughts like some milk in the fridge to add to coffee or tea were forgotten. The heater also didn’t work, and the filter for the air conditioner was putrid.
We ordered a cot for our youngest child which wasn’t set up for us upon arrival. We travelled 400 km to enjoy a weekend experience away, and our youngest was dying for a sleep after not sleeping in the car the whole way. We then had to wait until 6: 30 pm until a replacement cot was brought to us, which was absolutely filthy. It had what looked like faces covered on the sides and on the bottom, and because it was damaged, it was impractical to use so he ended up having to sleep with us.
After bathing the kids, my wife retrieved a towel from the rail, which fell from the wall and almost struck my child in the head. Very dangerous to say the least, the room clearly is a safety hazard for children.
Day two arrived and we quickly found out there are no tea towels provided and no dish soap to wash dishes. Room service “cleaned” the room, Which consisted of simply making the beds. None of the rubbish bins were emptied, tables weren’t wiped down, dishes we had used were not placed in the dishwasher or cleaned for us at all. The entire room was left as it was apart from the beds being made. So I would definitely not call these serviced apartments.
Finally, upon checking out, my family and I walk into the lobby after being outside in the pouring rain. My children and I were in dire need of a toilet, and were refused by the hotel staff. The woman simply pointed out the door, suggesting I walk back through the rain to Federation Square to use the public toilets there. Clearly there was no regard for myself or my kids during this time, and I was absolutely disgusted that there was no common decency or care for us at that moment at all.
All in all, this was the most horrible of any hotel experience I’ve had in my entire life. Our relaxing getaway was nothing more than a weekend filled with stress followed by irritation that staff simply didn’t care. I made it quite clear that I was going to leave a review on my stay and there was nothing more than a shrug of the shoulders as a reply. I can confidently say I will never ever stay at the Adina hotel apartments or any Adina hotel ever again, and I would strongly suggest anyone reading the review to take the same advice.
Was very disappointed in the red headed receptionist! She was extremely unprofessional, disrespectful and narcissistic. She was so inconsiderate as it was my friends birthday and didn't bother to acknowledge the fact that she was very distressed. She paid top dollar for a beautiful penthouse which by the way was lovey, HOWEVER this receptionist wrecked her whole night. Who pays $800 for a penthouse to only be able to have 6 people? I feel so sorry for the cops that she called as they have bigger problems then dealing with polite young teenagers who were just having fun. We respected our neighbours, no music was playing, we were quiet and didn't disturb anyone. So what was the issue? UTTER SELFISHNESS FROM THIS LADY! NEVER COMING BACK TO THIS PLACE UNTIL SHE IS FIRED!
My husband and I were honestly so easterly surprised by everything about this hotel. The staff/owners have genuinely taken on all of the reviews and even the very small issues such as 'soundproofing' and "outdated furniture seem to have been dealt with. We truly loved all of the genuinely lovely staff and mini-bar purchase prices from downstairs. Fashionable and up to date rooms just made our stay exceptional, already thinking about when we can return.
I love the location! Close to the MCG, Fed Square and shopping malls. Rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. Good value for money.
After evacuating from the Mallacoota bushfire in January 2020 I booked for a stay at the Adina. I had stayed there a few times previously and loved the rooms and the location - and I always felt very comfortable and happy there - but this time the staff went above and beyond to look after me. I was so grateful for their care and assistance during my stay and I was almost sad to leave after a week long stay! Thanks to Jason and staff for such an amazingly refreshing stay, it helped me to clear my head and prepare for what comes next back home in Mallacoota! See you all next time I come to stay, can't wait:)
Very nice apartments, spacious, and good value for money.
Nice location only a short tram stop away from Flinders street and federation square.
Walking distance to Bourke street mall as well. Also has a supermarket next door which is handy for last minute groceries.
Spent NYE here in a 2 bdrm suite. Sensational views and staff at check in were friendly and helpful. Spacious and large kitchen area in the suite, but agree with others that the curtains, carpets etc are starting to look a little dated. Linen and bathrooms were clean. The top of our fridge was filthy and they hadn’t checked the cupboards as prior guests had left a large box of cereal which was still there? Ability to ‘book’ a car park would be good. Rang twice in the lead up to our booking to double check if we could do this, and was told no. We were able to get the last ‘space’ (the maintenance guy’s car park) - and I had to physically move a few bits of odds & ends for us to make it work. That said, $25 for an overnight park in the city is fantastic - so a solid pro.
Very good hotel. Excellent service clean rooms. One of the cleaners forgot to clean the room so they have apologised and sent a letter with bottle of wine this is something simple but has won a customer very impressive thank you for the kind gesture will definitely recommend this hotel and stay again
Great experience overall. The young lady on reception was a great help and very friendly.
Nothing was to much trouble. The apartment was just great with fab views over the yarra and city. Will be going back for sure.
Best Staff I’ve come across lady at the reception was so nice, little downside was our A/C didn’t work in the room but the manager was super nice about it and let us stay in the penthouse for the rest of our stay 10/10 place would recommend
DISAPPOINTING.used a gift voucher gifted to us by upper management of TFE Hotels.cleaning staff bustled into our room after we started unpacking - my wife was in the bathroom - just to lock one off the rooms down so we couldn't use it. THEN we couldn;t get the heater to work, manager on duty came up to check it said 'it should be ok but here's a portable heater just in case' went out for a nice dinner and a concert - returned to a FREEZING room on what turned out to be the COLDEST night of the year.staff did nothing to help us out all three of us ended up sleeping in one tiny room with the 'emergency heater' to try and stay warm.we couldn't even watch TV in the sitting area.when we left management said they'd send us a complimentary discount. STILL WAITING - POOR service
Spacious and comfortable rooms, good views, good location, friendly and helpful staff and reasonably priced
Edit: Staff took care of things really well, decided to add more stars also turns out Wi-Fi was free for people with rooms: D.
Well located.spacious rooms.bathroom probably needs up dating.no plug for bath.and no kettle in the kitchen.but would stay there again.
Excellent customer service. Walked in at 9pm without a booking and not only was I kindly welcomed by Durga at the front desk, but she went out of her way to accommodate my parents and I immediately Great affordable room too
Very poor management. I had to rush to my office while my family was there in hitel apartment. I told them I need to check at 12 rather than 11 am, reception said not possible. So from my office i called my wife to tell her that must check out by 11 am. In fact we were moving from this Adina to other Adina as cleaning from housemaid was not great. My wife was in room with 3 young kids, so had to rush to check out due to 11 am deadline. My wife did check out on time and then was waiting outside for taxi to go to other Adina. Then hotel manager Nigel approach my wife rudely said that 'Hei lady come inside' then shouted to her saying that why the room was not cleaned before leaving. May be we could have made the room little bit tidy but this is not the way to approach a guest given that we often use the place for our stay in Melbourne. Nigel shouldn't be in job with his behaviour.
Big rooms with a splendid view of MCG if ur staying towards the road. No swimming pool, spa, jacuzzi and a very very small gym
A good option for those with families. Lots of room. We were unlucky (or maybe lucky) to be given a room that had a broken air con. When we complained we were immediately offered an upgraded room with a view. Compliments to the staff. Great service! However the cheaper room that had the broken aircon looked like it needed a renovation. Lots of brown spots on the walls and the sofas were very stained. The upgraded room we actually stayed in was much nicer, but still had a few signs of wear. But was much more acceptable. I think it's better to choose the pricier 1 bed apartment. Overall great service and nice upgraded room made us very happy. However we couldn't unsee what we could have had.
