Absolute Beginners Sewing Classes

Absolutely love these classes. Total beginner, but with support and encouragement I am beginning to learn new skills and make practical items. Laura is an excellent teacher. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

The sewing class is fantastic. Laura, the instructor is knowledgeable, patient, friendly and funny the class size is small, and we covered a wide range of techniques. It is a supportive learning environment, and I improved skills and confidence. Highly recommended!

I have really enjoyed Laura's sewing classes! She definitely makes it fun and is Knowledgeable and patient. I also love that the classes are small so Laura can spend a really good amount of time with everyone.also love the cups of tea! Definitely recommend if your wanting to learn to sew or want a fun new social hobby.

These classes are so much fun! I started with the beginners class for sewing and came back for the overlocker class. Laura is a very patient teacher and is great at explaining and demonstrating what she's teaching. A cherry on top that you come out from each lesson with something I've sewn that I still use in everyday life

Absolute Beginners Sewing classes are the highlight of my fortnight. I started as a literal absolute beginner and I have not only gained knowledge and confidence but I get to take home a finished useful project each time that I can't wait to show off.

Laura is knowledgeable, patient and friendly, the small classes mean that you get plenty of 1: 1 support but also get to laugh and make new friends. Highly recommended to anyone who wants to learn something new, improve skills or just hang out with some great people and make some cool projects!

I had never used a sewing machine before attending class with Laura. I was a little overwhelmed with learning a new thing as an adult. However, it was so wonderful! Lara is patient and funny. We have the best laughs. I feel like I am at friends house having fun with a sweing machine. Laura also introduced me to the dark side! An overlocker! It has changed my world. I can highly recommend Laura and her classes! I should also say that you make some lovely friends with the other participants at the same time.

Laura is experienced, patient and knowledgeable. Great engaging small classes which makes it fun learning how to sew!

Laura is a sewing rock star. I started in Laura’s class late last year after many years of wanting to learn to sew & not being able to find someone who could teach an absolute beginner, then I fortunately found Absolute Beginners Sewing classes & Laura. Laura’s classes will give you the basics (& not so basics later on) that will give you an understanding of sewing & the confidence to try things on your own after a bit. The classes are small & all the people who attend (come on guys learn it’s fun & not just for women) are lovely. I couldn’t recommend Absolute Beginners Sewing classes & Laura more.

Laura is an easy going, charismatic and wonderful teacher. I had never sewn before and am now making my own creations. Drinking tea and many laughs each lesson is just the icing on the cake!

I visited for a casual lesson today and I was so impressed with every aspect, from the simple printed material, the structured course program, the venue, the peppermint tea, and most of all, Laura's patient attitude. Her clear love of sewing was inspirational. I learned so much for one lesson and I like the bag I made. I was so surprised. These lessons are so affordable, Laura is way undercharging. Strongly recommend taking lessons with absolute beginner sewing lessons.

I started sewing with Laura in term 1 which had to be cut one week short due to Covid-19. The skills that I had learnt, together with the confidence I had gained have kept me entertained and busy during the lockdown. Sewing via the zoom classes have been fun, giving everyone the chance to practice, with a finished project at the end of each class. Laura has been engaged and helpful during this time, researching projects and offering tips. I cannot wait to get back to lessons in the Absolute Beginners Sewing room where the supportive, friendly atmosphere inspires you to give it a go.
