60Perfect! Good for a couple or family (always a good sign that both can fit). Service is more than good. A bit too fast but that's my french culture:) The food is excellent and at the very descent price. Go there!
The best meal that we have had in some time. Incredible and authentic food and reasonable. Nice setting and friendly staff. Just brilliant.
Great home made fresh food.
No over fashion presentation in this restaurant, just pure good home style traditional food which is hard find these days.
This place was fantastic! Staff went out of their way to cater for my dietary requirements and were incredibly helpful. The food itself was so so tasty!
Delicious food in a formal setting. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. Will definitely be back.
Delicious! Knocked our socks off! Great warm and friendly service and fantastic home style cooking! Can't wait to go back! LOVE IT!
This is a old Lebanese institution it is small clean and personal Abla even came around to see we were happy! Very enjoyable not all the food is perfect but it feels home made and authentic no pretentiousness here!
Worth a visit.
Wow.just like eating at home.being Lebanese I can be a harsh critic but this place is truely amazing. This is really Lebanese food. Cooked with love and truely delicious. I could eat here every night if I was allowed.
The food has amazing flavours and is healthy. We always order to share that way we all get to taste the great food.
You will need to book ahead as it is that good.
Just go and try you won’t be disappointed.
My review is purely talking about the food and service.
Fabulous food and atmosphere, our favourite homestyle Lebanese restaurant and food. Our favourite were the mjadra rice and livers
What a fantastic restaurant this is. I had an overwhelming joyful experience of food and atmosphere. The best restaurant in carlton
I give it 3,5 nice service, nothing too fancy though. Food was good, but not wow. Building was old, more of a locals place I guess
A genuine Lebanese and middle eastern experience. The highlight is not only the exceptional food but getting a glimpse of the lady behind the cuisine. You will be going back for more.
This was my second time there. The first time was great. Beautiful food and great service. Well.this time was a little bit of an anticlimax experience. Some dishes were well executed but nothing that will wow you. But the service was a real disappointment. The waiter was very polite actually everyone was super polite but he did not know what the fish of the day was. Than when was time to order the main meals we have not had much help from him so we ended up ordering way more than what we needed for three people. The point here is that in the modern days customers expect service not a servant. As other people mentioned the building is old. It was clean but the toilet paper was more like sandpaper. I would not go back or recommend to my friends. There are better and cheaper places in Melbourne that will give you value for money.
Been going to Abla's nearly every week for over 30 years. Great food, fantastic service, super value and friendly atmosphere. Abla and her family are all warm generous and welcoming. Never knowing who you might see therr on any given night adds to the fun.
Classless and Average
Service was shocking and the food does not live up to other Lebanese restaurants. From the moment we went in we felt rushed as our table needed to “be turned over by eight”. However during the time that we were there, other customers were also being seated with no mention of a time limit! The food was expensive, very salty and servings were not consistent across all tables, not sure what that was about. We finished dinner within 45 minutes couldn’t wait to get out of there. Definitely won’t be back, horrible dining experience!
VERY PERSONALISED SERVICE FROM STAFF
This Lebanese themed restaurant is a bit of an institution in Melbourne.
Lively most nights and a nice vibe in the upstairs dinery.
Delicious food and excellent service. We ordered the set menu for 7 of us. Except overcooked green beans everything was authentically middle eastern.can't wait to visit again.
Spectacular Lebanese food served at Abla's. Every dish is prepare to absolute perfection. Some of my favourites are the favia beans, the Lebanese potatoes baked with good oil garlic and sea salt, the kibi are are astounding. I've never had this dish cooked so perfectly as Able does and lastly the chicken livers are juicy, flavoursome and succulent. They are done on a hot grill.not sure of ingredients but suspect sumac is in this dish. Every dish must be prepared with love as it's not possible to have this expert preparation without the chef not loving what she is preparing.
If you are not drinking wine.then you must try the house made lemonade with rosewater.it is superb.
The staff are all so warm and welcoming.providing excellent care and service.
As you have probably guessed, Abla's is my absolute favourite Lebanese restaurant.
I highly recommend this family run business
Incredibly delicious food, all of which was quiet healthy. Although the restaurant was busy the staff were very polite and spent time making sure we enjoyed our meal.
The food was good (though not really to my tastes), the service was great and the atmosphere was just right. Ate here with a family and the kid friendly options were limited.
