Love the staff here, always friendly and attentive. Cocktails are nice and reasonably priced. Good range on the menu to please just about everyone, sometimes hit and miss depending on the item or the night. Love sitting outside with a bit a live music when the weather is warm. Or sitting inside near the fire when it’s cold.

The good news: the food was very good.
The bad news: got our orders wrong twice. Got there at 7.15 and one of us didn't get their (correct) meal til about 9pm.
The place was sooo hot. 1 staff member was setting up fans for us. Aparantly the aircon is alway this bad on a hot day.

Fantastic meal with great atmosphere, and the service, well I was treated like royalty. I will be back. Let's hope my 2nd visit is as good as my 1st.

Nice place on a quieter night. Can't speak for peak busy hours. But I had a good pint and meal with my wife and kids and the staff were wonderful.

Saturday night was my first visit to 81.
The atmosphere was fantastic, with amazing exposed wooden support beams and roof, as well as some large wooden advertising over the bar.
The staff could not do enough for you.
As for the food, wonderful.
The cocktail person was 10 out of 10.

As a person in a wheelchair I cannot fault ANYTHING.

I'm looking forward to the next time that I can go again.

Visited on a Friday night and enjoyed the experience and food, the music was great and the atmosphere was fantastic, highly recommended.

We stopped on our drive through here to grab a little bite. Nice set up, live music, lovely friendly staff. Only downside was the misleading description of the jalapeno poppers. Their menu states stuffed jalapenos crumbed and fried, the real deal so I got excited. Not store bought mozzarella bites for 16 bucks with pieces of jalapeno and corn.the last was not mentioned on their menu so be aware if you have an allergy against corn.

Great place to have some quiet Sunday drinks and share some good entrees. Live music is good and staff are friendly.

Came here from a romantic dinner with my wife. It's not really a romantic type of place. Very busy and very loud, as we were upstairs. The food was very good. Ordered 3 entrees to share, poppers, dips, and bread and pork belly bites. All were very good. I had the pork ribs for a main, and they were very good. Fall of the bone and very tasty. Live band downstairs started at 8.30pmish, which increased the noise level and made it hard to hear our conversations. After dinner, we popped into the front bar area, where the band was. Enjoyed and drink and the pumping atmosphere. We had a great night and will definitely come back again.

Service was great. My issue was the meal, this was my 3rd time at the restaurant and have to say have been underwhelmed every time.this time ordered fish and chips, fish was straight from a packet and not good at all. So disappointed. 3 strikes and that’s it.

Interesting bar very nice design and decent food. My only gripe is that it isn't really a 'taphouse' like they claim. They seem to have a couple of craft beers in the side bar (which was closed), but they don't brew and almost no options to choose from. So technically not a taphouse which is what we were expecting.

I went there tonight for dinner for the first time in a while. Our table ordered the pork belly bites, chicken bites and calamari, which were all amazing! I was a bit hesitant to order the fish and chips because of past experience but they changed their fish and it’s so much better. My partner was disappointed in the scotch fillet, he said it tasted charred and bitter, other than that the service staff were friendly and accommodating.

Terrible service - waited for over 10 minutes to be served at bar and then a further 25 minute for my drink to arrive. Food was terrible ; prawns inedible and “salmon salad” was dodgy with cabbage ‍️ and iceberg lettuce and brown smoked salmon.

This place caters for Bogans only. Very poor bar staff & attitude of staff. Gone drastically downhill

We went in to celebrate a birthday and had a terrible night, we sat down to see heaps of flying bugs near our table, we moved tables but the bugs quickly infested the whole restaurant, we spent the night swatting away bugs which were in our food, drinks and all over our bodies, even the kitchen turned the lights of as the bugs were in there too. Our table of 8 didnt even get our meals at the same time, so disappointed as our food wasnt cheap & we couldnt even enjoy it.
UPDATE- we received a call from the owner Gaz explaining that the bug problem was a once off and to come back & try 81 on him. Our experience could not have been more different, the service was amazing, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was fantastic, we had a great night. Mikaela was wonderful and we would not hesitate to come back again. All 8 of us had a great night. Thanks Gaz for reaching out & changing our perception.

Food was pretty average. Service was non existant. We were seated and waited for 20 minutes for the waitress to return. Not even a bottle of water on the table. We ended up going up to the bar to order our food and drinks. Won't be rushing back.

Great atmosphere with fantastic live music.
Reasonably priced drinks.
Would recommend the espresso Martini.

Three stars for one wonderful waitress, decent food and lovely atmosphere. Sadly from the moment we walked in we felt like everyone wanted us to leave, asked twice if we had a booking, constant reminders that the kitchen was closing, we arrived at 6pm so it wasn't right on closing time. Updates are welcome, but they were very often and from numerous workers. Lovely place and waitress, didn't feel entirely welcome.

Food & drink is exceptional.friendly staff, cool decor.lovely dining experience.
We've been here a few times and I'd like to mention the fabulous and abundant cheese platter. Talk about fresh, delicious and great value for $35

Spent 2 days contacting venue to get an answer about bringing a cake with no response. Phone directed you to send an email. Sent email and no response. When asked at venue told to bring our own plastic plates and spoons otherwise charged at $2.50 per plate. Or we could go to woolworths and purchase. When asked why phones weren't answered or emails returned so we could pre ask about cake told they were too busy to answer.
Such poor customer service and the manger/owner guy was so rude when we asked our questions. And to his response that everyone charges to bring cake.your establishment is the first time we've ever been charged per person to bring a BIRTHDAY CAKE.
Considering we spent close to $500 on our night there I think it's rude to charge to bring a birthday cake. It's not like we byo dessert, it was a 50th birthday.

We will never go back here again
