57 Cafe Bar Restaurant reviews
70Great food.nice ambiance.very generous yield.delicious kids meals.very friendly staff.everyone is happy.
No change table available.
It would be great if the owner can invest in a change table. It is a huge inconvenience to dine in this restaurant with young baby/ kids when they need their nappy changed.
Absolutely delightful cafe for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Great coffee. Love their lamb and pork cutlets dish. The soup of the day are usually delicious as well. Usually quite busy.
Pretty average
Small portions
Chilli scramble was tasteless
Service was slow as it’s super busy
No staff were wearing masks when I went, despite these rules still being in place. At least they checked vaccination status. Food was bland and not very enjoyable. No dressing on salads. A tiny drizzle of balsamic is not enough to flavour unseasoned ingredients. Roast pumpkin was inedible without any seasoning or dressing.
I also found a piece of bacon in my vegetarian salad. At least it wasn't a piece of plastic from their grater like I had when I last visited several years ago.
Went for Sunday breakfast quite early as we have done many times before. Despite the dining room being quite sparse we were seated down the back away from the windows. We didn’t mind too much (at least it wasn’t next to the bathrooms like we have experienced before). Service was quite friendly, although we did have no less than four male waiters attend our table during the 45 mins we were there. This was a little confronting for my 5 year old daughter and I thought a little odd too. Coffee was delicious as usual and the meals came quickly. The eggs were slightly under done but the remainder of the meal was good. After receiving too much attention at our table I’m not sure I’d feel comfortable bringing my daughter back, which was a little disappointing because we have had great experiences in the past.
As the name suggests, it’s a cafe-restaurant and in trying to be, the establishment is neither. Too loud and abrasive for a restaurant and too expensive for a cafe it was non-compliant with COVID-density measures.
The acoustics of the layout just don’t work.
Loved this place before covid but now their outside dining tent is a disgrace, dirty, cobwebs and just tired.
Food very good but please clean up outside area.
Just had a coffee today, but it was one the best flat white I’ve ever had, good amount of coffee and temperature was excellent, second time I had spinach feta spanakopita which was great
I tried all their cakes, unfortunately I love all of them coffee is amazing here staff all wonderful!
An absolutely delightful Cafe, the staff are friendly and attentive, the food is amazing with a broad selection delicious cakes. The specials board always has a great treat, the potato and leek soup today was divine, perfect for a rainy winter day.
We booked for a group of friends and were very pleased with the service snd food. We have been here many times and like the atmosphere, service and food day or evening so keep up the good work we will be back.
Great customer service, really good atmosphere and food was absolutely beautiful. Would go here again and again. Highly recommend!
Beautiful atmosphere, dining in the sunshine was glorious and the food was lovely. All staff were friendly & gave a great customers service experience!
Will 110% be back!
Have been to this cafe so many times and loved all their dishes and cakes. Whenever we feel like eating cakes, we will think of this cafe and take away few pieces home but tonight was so disappointed.we take away 2 pieces caramel macadamia cheesecake and a New York cheesecake. The caramel macadamia cheesecake was so dry and the white cream on top hard and cracked, it’s seems like sitting there for days. Their standard had dropped, won’t be back again.
As I stood behind the ‘Please wait to be seated’ (which codes for: Wait to be assessed as to whether you are suitable for admission … that you are predicted to spend enough money and/or reckoned not to lower the tone of the place) sign and receiving no attention (despite the presence of an army of staff apparently doing very little behind the counter) for a number of minutes I decided to leave. If I were to use adjectives to describe this establishment I would use; rude, unwelcoming, humiliating and pretentious. Here is a tip for management. Walk 50 metres to the west and observe Anne's Kitchen in operation to get an idea, by way of contrast, of your deficiencies.
From the minute you walk into this hidden, local gem you feel welcomed. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable and service warm and friendly. I only had coffee on this occasion but it was delivered exactly as ordered.
The place was fairly busy but not noisy. The food looked amazing and I can't wait to return to try it.
A really wonderful local cafe. It has a lovely atmosphere that I find to be quite relaxing, and the service is impeccable. Indeed, the waiting staff is unfailingly polite and hospitable, and always seeks to make patrons comfortable. The food, moreover, is really tasty - I particularly recommend the daily soup, which is always rich and filling. Cafe 57 is great for a quick coffee stop or a long, lingering lunch. Highly recommended.
57 was my family and friend’s favourite place to eat for several years. However, over the last few weeks the standard of food has plummeted. On Mother’s Day my young children refused to eat their meals (which they usually loved) and my mother and I both developed food poisoning. The food preparation and taste of the meals was very bad and we (including everyone we know) will never eat at 57 again. Apparently they have new trainee chefs now (obviously not well trained or supervised) which explains the reason why the place has become a dive. Only eat here if you don’t mind disgusting food or being possibly food poisoned.
Went here a month ago for lunch. The service was pretty good. The food was okay. I ordered a chicken parma and chips but the chicken was over cooked on one side. I struggled to cut it with my knife. It was as if they microwaved it for too long.
My friend's meal however was better.
