38 South Bar Cafe reviews
51Awesome little cafe right near Seaford beach. Food, staff and vibe are all perfect! Love this place.
Honestly 12/10! Every time I’ve been here, The service has been so good! The staff are SO friendly and make you feel like a regular even if it’s your first time. The food is top notch and I’ll keep on coming back again and again!
Great spot for breakfast.
The meal was great, coffee was nice.
The staff were all over the gluten free requirements.
Cheap and nasty coffee that looked like the same stuff you buy in Woolies for $8 a bag - and was served by a tall thin dark haired girl with attitude plus who couldn't have been any more rude. Never to return here.
Had the pancakes this morning and they were pre-made pancakes which were unfortunately not warm and hard like rubber. Let the waiter know and he did offer something else which was good. They just need to not cook pre made pancakes and make them fresh, if not take it off the menu.
Hope you take on board the advice as im a food critic editor.
Thanks Steve
10/10 breakfast experience. The staff were very friendly as soon as we walked in. They gave us a table and were quick and attentive to serve us. We ordered the eggs your way on crumpets and they were brilliant. The food was hot and fresh and tasted amazing. The chefs are upbeat and look happy to be there. Overall great time definitely recommend
Food was tasty and the staff was very friendly. It's a nice place to be if you go to Seaford. Totally recommended ️
I ordered a Chilli Scramble - $21.50. It was a small serve on a thin slice of sourdough bread. The Chilli Scramble came with a QUARTER SLICE of a chorizo; the fried shallots was missing, something I only found out after I checked the menu when I was paying the bill. My 2 friends who ordered toasties had a long, long wait before they got their food. Overall, it was an underwhelming and pricey experience.
Always friendly and never fail to provide great food and service. Thanks for all you do for the Seaford community 38 South
First time in a long time for no idea why as this joint is a super cafe and easily some of the best food and coffee in the area. Always feel so welcomed and the staff are so so friendly. Run don't walk into this place and also check their Family Meal Deals during the week as they also do dinner. Good little local that deserves all the plaudits it gets.
Disappointing breakfast - husband had smashed avo on toast that was burnt bread and only came with 1 piece of toast no egg (was extra) bland and overpriced for $21. Look elsewhere
Very good spot opposite the beach. Appealing environment, but very hard to hear above the music and acoustics inside the Cafe. The only reason 3 stars for the food is because I thought the entree price of $18 was high for the plate size.
Overpriced food I had a Japanese salmon bowl that didn’t do justice to the price.
Friendly staff but the price is overrated
I took 2 visitors to Melbourne, to 38 south cafe, on way to drop them at the airport, and unfortunately for 1 of my visitors, was served a very, very raw chicken burger, it was sent back of course, she was upset and didn't order anything else, and left hungry, she had a kfc chicken burger, wich she said was delicious,
But I can say my beef burger was ok.but the small basket of chips wasn't full.
Service was good.
Bad last meal in Victoria?
Avoid the chicken
Have been here before, but today, I decided to try the breakfast bowl. Bad move! I wish I had taken a photo of the complete overprice bowl of rubbish I received. Tiny bowl with granola, frozen berries, huge scoop of peanut butter, 1 strawberry, and 4 tiny pieces of mango. The fact that it was more expensive than the breakkie burger, i thought, this has got to be good. I was so wrong, very disappointing, based on other breakfast bowls I've seen. I should have stuck with eggs on toast.
On a positive note, the staff were friendly, and service was prompt for a busy Sunday morning.
Smashed Advo with poached egg amazing and my mums breakfast egg and bacon roll was so good too.
Service was great.
Staff friendly.
My vanilla chai was perfect, my mums cappuccino was also amazing!
Will be back!
Thanks
Food is amazing. Service is good. Great coffee. Price is reasonable. What else to expect from a cafe?
First time here today and we were very impressed. Great coffee and smoothie, food was delicious and service was really good. Definitely recommend and will be back again soon:) thank you
20.50 smashed avo was overpriced for size of serving, one piece of toast, really? Coffee served spilled on saucer.
Defensive owner needs to look at what Naked Racer, The Colonels Son, offer for less money. I work in hospo.
A great local cafe!
I love stopping in here because you're guarantee great service and delicious food. The coffee is always good and they have a great selection of fresh cakes and pastries. If you really want a treat go for the Nutella fold over!
They also open for dinner and offer a well thought out seasonal menu.
