Some mates and I spent five amazing nights and days in the company of Brett, his guides and the amazing Franklin River. Words don't adequately describe the high I'll stay on from this trip, so I'm sharing some of my experiences and feelings.

From well before the trip commenced we were provided with appropriate, timely and detailed information without being overwhelmed.

From start to the finish of the actual trip we were provided with camaraderie, friendship, enthusiasm, wisdom, guidance, thrills and calm.

The whitewater rafting is simply thrilling. Wonderfully happily thrilling. Well beyond the high side of good.

The flatwater rafting is relaxing and a superb way to drink in the endless postcard views that are in front of your eyes every part of the journey, and there are amazing side journeys that see you going up little gullies and into caves that welcome you into wonderlands better than the best doco on the best high definition TV.

The weather isn't as harsh as our imaginations and social media lead us to expect, that or our clothing requirements were so spot on that after the first day I didn't notice the cold, and on the last day we were all paddling in just our rashies.

The food was amazing, macadamia ice cream on the first (!), quail on the third (!), pecan pie while paddling on the fourth (!) and something for everyone at each meal and snack in between, all of this provided by our guides while we slept in in the morning and while speaking animatedly about it with each other after each day's adventures.

I camped and slept in places I would never expect to, and it's re-written how I'm going camping with my young fella from now on, simple is so much more rewarding, but if you want a tent you can have a tent, or you can have the delight of sleeping under the stars, (no mossies or flies!) and the views that presents as you drift happily off to sleep.

My body got a workout that is longer lasting and way better for me than any gym session, not that I'd call it exhausting, I'd say the moderately/average fit person will sleep well at night from the level of exertion. Here I am half a week later feeling great.

The guides quickly become friends and confidants. Like all of us, we all have mildly different personalities, and that makes it easier for bonding, and they all share an absolute love of adventure sports, nature, and sharing the two in as safe a way as possible.

Brett and all involved, thanks from the bottom of my heart, I will definitely be traveling with you again in my foreseeable future.

Five star in every way, Brett and his experienced guides ensured we had a safe, memorable and wild time on the river. The food is outstanding, the knowledge of the river is second to none and the overall trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Highly recommend this team.

Finally rafted the Franklin River what an adventure.
After visiting Tasmania and the lower Gordon in the late 70's with my family.marching in Sydney to stop the damming of the Franklin and finally getting to fulfill a dream of my dad's (just turned 80) and mine to raft the Franklin River.
I researched and called all the tour operators and felt most comfortable with Water by Nature and what a great choice it was.
We did the 7 day full river tour with a group of family and friends, if you are looking for a trip with adventure in the wilderness then this is a trip you cant miss out on. There are not many places where you can travel days and see no civilization what a bliss, and the food will blow you away (it is making my mouth water thinking about the meals) from prawns to sticky date pudding and many more delicious meals.
The river is wild and at all times we felt safe in the hands of our guides. If you are thinking about doing the trip give Water by Nature a call you wont be disappointed.
Don't forget your Go Pro if you have one, we got some great footage, if not don't worry as they supply you with a great DVD of your trip. Cant wait to get the time to go back again

Hi All. I whole heartedly recommend Water by Nature Tasmania for a Franklin River Trip. I am 58 years old and a vegetarian; neither of these caused problems. The food was great and the care of the rafters and attention to safety was clearly paramount to the guides. Its not an easy paddle. You need to be prepared for cold and some hard work but its worth it. The Franklin River is amazing and needs to be experienced first hand. Thanks Brett, Scott and Ross for a life time memory. Incredible journey that could change your life! Our guides Jeff, Ash and Matt were wonderful and made sure we were all looked after. Even during tough portages we still felt safe. The food was amazing and never had a bad meal The scenery was beyond words and the fact that you are able to drink directly from the river made it even better. Highly recommended if you're looking for an adventure!

A fabulous adventure safely guided by Brett and Klaudia.
Just returned from our full moon 7 day full river from 25 March to 7 April 2016.
My three daughters and I found it exciting, challenging and beautiful and would recommend it highly to anyone with a spirit of adventure who wants to see nature at its best.

Just finished up the 7 day trip. A real pleasure to raft with guides Brett and Klaudia (and the rest of the crew). The river was everything you'd hope it to be, the guides knowledgeable, helpful and safety conscious (without sucking the fun out it), and the food top-notch. The daily plunger coffee was a massive and unexpected bonus.
Great trip for anyone who loves the outdoors, enjoys camping and wants a bit of adventure.
