Travelodge Hotel Hobart reviews
65 Rooms are comfortable clean everything you need for a night stay.
Only complaint is you are not guaranteed off street parking.
Lucky I was out before the sun rised and returned well into the night otherwise I wouldn't have to pay for parking on the street
Beds are really comfy and clean, cleaners do a good job, they read any notes that you may have left for them and follow what you need.no bad smells or stains, everything in my room was clean and sanitary, there was a bit of dust in my room but can't expect much more from an old building. Close to town and easy to get in and out, was able to wash and dry clothes effectively, no real noise or any bad characters hanging around, anything that needed to be dealt with staff was onto it and very corporative / helpful. I really enjoyed my stay and I want to personally thank the staff from Hobart travel Lodge hotel for being so kind and helpful very appreciative, especially of the overnight staff he was on top of everything that needed to be done and served my drinks as needed be or whatever else I needed to be done. I will be staying again in future. Prices are pretty good:)
Absolutely hopeless
Réception: we were supposed to get a free bottle of wine. Of course not in the room. Asked réception the next morning to deliver to the room, still not done at 6 pm. No apologies
Rooms small and dark
Room service. First morning woken up by knock from room service at 9am. Told them to come back. On way out that morning told room service working in room next door they could go ahead. Back in the evening, room not done. Next day soap gone not replaced. Used Body cleanser instead. That too disappears the next day with no replacement. Advised réception, got replacement but no acknowledgement of issue let alone apology.
WiFi an absolute joke. You have to reconnect every day on every device. It sometimes works, sometimes you are left hanging waiting for your browser to reconnect to a site Chrome and Safari warn you is not safe. I will make sure my company never books me here again.
Rooms are so small shower you hardly can have one so small no restaurant or breakfast as well you have to pay for car parking
Very disappointing that there was no open Restaurant in the Hotel. Had quite a bit of a walk to dine out. Hard parking in the basement. Room was ok.
Average budget hotel nothing flash just basic. Not good for any extended period of time or family size groups
Doona had stains and had booked parking on arrival no parking was sent around the corner for security parking
Stayed at 167 Macquarie St
Room very small, if I had few more kg I wouldn't be able to fit in the shower or to use a toilet.
Staff at the reception not very friendly, not helpful at all like they didn't want us there.
Stayed once and never again.
Nice and simple hotel located in convenient location in Hobart. Rooms were well kept and clean. Only a short walk to the CBD and pier areas, and just a block away from one of the SkyBus stops allowing for easy travel to and from the airport. Only downside was that the room I was in was not overly soundproofed against outside noise, so did hear some traffic noise; but for a short overnight stay, it's not a massive issue.
Where to begin. Wife felt reception were not welcoming. The room was so small. We had the joy of a single bed. No crockery. A paper cup for my coffee. Try reusing that 6 or 7 times. Shower screen door glass was coming out of the frame, and the bedside lamp flickered on and off. At least I found if you wiggled the lead it worked fine for about 5 minutes. And parking is out on the main road.
Remita was extremely kind and accommodating. Good hotel, GREAT customer service. 10/10. Thanks Remita.
I understand that this was a budget hotel but did expect better. The: continental: breakfast supplied was inadequate in that a mini yoghurt was supplied on the first morning, with rock hard pears which took several days sitting on the window sill to ripen enough to be edible and a muesli bar. No muffin or bread roll. The size of the yoghurt was increased for future mornings but some of our party found that theirs were out of date.
The basin in our bathroom was badly cracked, and on returning to our room on 25th February we were horrified to find a pair of men's underpants on the floor of our room, the newly made bed had been laid on and the floor had not been vacuumed the entire time we had been there.
This is totally unacceptable and a poor reflection on what Australia has to offer to travellers
When booking on line the pictures told a very different story than the real thing. The rooms are very small. I asked for twin room with a lounge - there is none in the hotel. No Restaurant either they gave us paper cups & wooden cutlery and said that was all they could give us, it was terrible. We were there 6 nights in total and if it wasn't for the location and that other hotels were booked out, I would have left. Other hotels had their restaurants open and gave proper cups & cutlery no problems.
We paid top dollar for our tiny room. Some friends stayed and booked through an agency for hundreds of dollars less. Lesson learned- don't fall for the advertising of the Travelodge Hotel and make sure you get a good price before booking with them. I personally would strip them of their four stars to 2 or 3 at the most.
Cons: The room has a musky smell that we couldn’t get rid of. Smelt like an awful perfume has been sprayed around. Rooms are small and a bit overpriced. They provide coffee and milk but cups are kept at reception which is a hassle. We paid an extra $10 for wifi and it was extremely slow and spotty.
Pros: Good Location in the city. Lots of natural lighting in room and we had a nice view of the water. Staff were polite and friendly.
Very close to Salamanca Markets and also the CBD. Great location, walking distance to everything. Rooms aren’t too bad. Bathroom is on the smaller side but it’s manageable.
Rooms are clean, though a bit small. Street facing rooms get a fair bit of traffic noise, even on the 7th floor.
Very nice place to stay. Right in the city. Only down side is that there is really bad wifi and that the ibis next door is being used as a hotel quarantine centre.
Clean, tidy and COVID aware. Convenient to town with no catering provided. Confusion over taxi fares to airport.confirm the fare with the hotel voucher or pay more to driver.
I lived in this hotel last week for 3 days and I was very disappointed with some of the services.
The hotel said that they would provide breakfast in the day that I moved in. Next morning, they just gave me an apple, a tiny bag of cereal, a bottle of milk and two bottles of juice. It was not enough for providing energy to the journey as I joined a tour group which contained a plan for climbing the Mt. Wellington at that date.
I understand how the COVID-19 had impacted the situation of the hotel businesses, but it should not be an excuse to such little volume of breakfast. The reason is that the crisis of pandemic in TAS is much more optimistic than some other states like VIC or NSW. The circumstance of TAS brings you guys enough opportunity to purchase more food or materials for serving the customers.
On the other hand, the hotel did not do any cleaning process in my room until I complained about the noise at night in one morning. One of the staffs said that I need to request for cleaning to the hotel, which sounded ridiculous as I’ve never seen this before in anywhere else in Australia.
There is smell in the room. I dont know bc of covid everything was changed but in my room there are no cups for coffee or tea. No phone to call reception if you have any question. Everything you need or want, you have to come down to reception in person. I feel it is inconvinience.
Location is a plus for this hotel as it is in city center. Lots of restaurant around.
