Three Capes Walk reviews
27Awesome experience, the walking track was fantastic and took in some great sites along the way to see Tasman Island and Cape Pillar. The huts along the track were well positioned to take in any views on offer and very comfortable for sleeping. I would highly recommend this 4 day trip as it was an easy to moderate hike, best done with a light pack!
Great way to get away from everything and find yourself. Go with a friend or a lover or family and enjoy bonding together. See stars over the clear skies at night from the lodges. Listen to the park rangers tell you about possums and their passions. Enjoy a coffee in the cool nights by the verandah or play cards and board games provided in the lodges. Take a risk and climb up the cliff for a shot of a lifetime. Remember that you are living and forget your life it's it revolved around your phone and being connected.
I've just completed this walk with my two children aged 8 and 10. The whole experience was amazing from the scenery to the facilities and the rangers.
We went in September, and it was cold, but the heated common room areas were warm and snug in the evening, and the sleeping cabins were fine with a good sleeping bag.
We prepared for any weather, and I'm glad we did as we experienced hot sun, freezing sleet and 50km/h winds. Spring really was fantastic though, with all the flowers in bloom along the walk.
The longest day was a 19km walk, but the majority of this was without carrying our packs, so much easier than expected.
The kids had a great time, and were able to handle the distances without too much trouble (but plenty of chocolate). Previously, the longest hike they'd done was 12km, but they had no problems with exceeding that on consecutive days.
My main advice for doing this hike with kids would be: drybags for everything; warm layered clothing; be prepared to carry the vast majority of the gear; warm sleeping bags; lots of food; and test your food beforehand if your kids are at all fussy.
Excellent! Great views, well designed for a good experience, huts are functional and have a character. Good for families with kids 8+ years. We did this in April 3rd week and had a very good stable weather. Can get quite hot, so i would always plan for spring or autumn.
Absolutely brilliant! Well organised, great track, good people & worth every penny. We are over 60 & also appreciated the "seniors discount":)
Awesome experience, very well run, fabulous rangers, out of this world scenery. Just do it is all I can say!
Joel was the most accommodating, knowledgeable guide. I wish all tours i have been on were as professionally conducted like this one!
