The Rivulet reviews
28Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful house. Service was great and I loved the breakfast too.
Beautiful hotel. We stayed in the garden studio and it was lovely. Clean, well decorated and the beds are so comfy! Breakfast also good. Definitely would stay again. Location is good (if you have a car)
Absolutely beautiful. Walked into the property and was greeted with a devine scent of cinnamon and clove. The room was beautifully decorated. Soft music playing for us, which instantly relaxed us. The bed was sooo comfortable, and the claw foot bath was also sleep worthy. Our room was so quiet, absolutely no noise from Sandy Bay Rd or other guests. Breakfast was quality and the staff member who served us was professional and friendly. This will be our go to accomodation for Hobart. Thank you!
Thank you for a lovely stay which was easily a 5 star experience. The room was elegantly furnished and comfortable and an honest reflection of the photos on their website. The breakfast was locally sourced and delicious. It was also a great opportunity to chat to other explorers and share tips and experiences. Thanks for a great stay, would definitely stay here again.
Denise was a wonderful host and the property is terrific.
The room itself was great - a lovely feeling of old-world charm with all the mod-cons you need.
The bed was exceptional - probably the best I've slept on in my life.
The bathroom was excellent - great shower, plenty of hot water, lovely toiletries.
Breakfast around a huge dining table with fellow guests was a wonderful way to start each morning.
Location was perfect - we had a rental car (no problems with parking on site) and used The Rivulet for our base to explore from for 8 nights. It's maybe a $10 Uber to Salamanca and you can walk to the Sandy Bay shopping precinct in 10 minutes if you like.
We stayed in the garden room for two nights. It was very clean comfortable and the grounds are beautiful. The only thing I would say, is that there are limited staff onsite if you have questions, need help etc. Otherwise, highly recommend. Only a short 5 min drive to central Hobart.
The Rivulet is the most incredible boutique hotel in Hobart. A stones throw from the CBD, and a short walk from Battery Point, I've now visited twice - staying in the Salamanca and Regatta Rooms. Most recently I hired the entire hotel for my wedding party, and all of our guests could not stop commenting on how gorgeous their room was. A stunning restoration, the Rivulet combines modern luxury with old world charm. Everything from the comfy beds, to the amazing shower pressure, to the gorgeous baths and stunning garden is absolutely divine.
Superb in every single detail room was excellent. Breakfast and all amenities provided were excellent. Sylvie came in and provided breakfast every morning. She is truly an absolute asset to you
So stunningly beautiful. Make sure you stay here for a few nights. It’s a gorgeous heritage building which made me feel like I was about to indulge in an elaborate murder mystery party.
Air conditioned rooms, easy parking, small fridge downstairs. Lovely very well maintained gardens. It is clear that somebody is looking after this property with the love & care it deserves.
Friendly staff, amazing and beautiful set up and comfy beds. Also beautiful, amazing breakfast. Superb place. We enjoyed the beautiful chess sets with port provided as well.
We had the best time at the Rivulet, and can't wait to be back. Extremely clean and cosy, brekkie was fine and delicious, we could not have been happier. Max 10min drive from the Salamanca market / ferry to the Mona. Thank you for making feel even better than at home ️
Super cozy room with immaculate vibes and decor. Free complimentary glass of port in the evening. Breakfast was amazing as well. By far favourite accomodation in Tasmania
Perfect for us… we were doing day tours for a couple days… so to stay here each night with a perfect breakfast to start each day was perfect. Comfortable and the owners were so accommodating, helpful, kind and had great communication! I would recommend.
Such a beautiful historical house with so much character. We loved the location and bedroom was spacious. Breakfast in the morning was fabulous with local produce. Thanks for a great stay
We stayed in the one bedroom apartment which was so large and beautifully appointed, even had a: dressing room! Lovely touches included port and Tasmanian fudge. The breakfast is served in the dining room, it was amazing! We had smoked salmon and freshly made quiche including fresh fruit salad etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel, also very well located. Can’t wait to return. Thank you, wish we could have stayed longer.
Room was spotless, the grounds are beautiful and the service was great! Lots of lovely details made the stay super comfortable.
Wonderful stay. Its a beautiful building with a really welcoming porch/entrance. Everything felt so cosy and homely. Our room, the Perouse, is so beautifully decorated with a French note, to my greatest pleasure. The bed was nice and comfortable. We enjoyed our robes, nice and fluffy. The electric blankets were a greatly appreciated bonus for someone not used to the cold weather. Breakfast in the morning was delicious with fresh fruit salad yum! The lady who took care of us at breakfast was so lovely and welcoming. I wish we could have stayed there for the whole of our Hobart trip, but sadly the place was fully booked for the other nights and we manage to book only one night. Definitely worth the hassle of changing accommodation during a 4d/3n trip though and I will gladly come back here.
An absolutely lovely, decadent, super comfy stay. So much character, beautiful finishing touches and beautiful building.
First time in a hotel like this. So comfortable and chic. Food is amazing, very friendly and attentive staff. Spend the day sightseeing and relax knowing you are coming back to this beautiful place.
Magnificent accommodation in a historic mansion.
Beautiful and inspiring interior in outstanding condition.
Luxury Continental breakfast is included in graciously appointed dining room until 9.30am.
Parking is available on-site, just a short stroll to the Casino and Sandy Bay shops. We easily walked into Battery Point and Constitution Dock.
The Regatta room, in which we stayed, has a fabulously comfortable king bed and both a lovely outdoor verandah and an indoor sun-baked verandah. The bathroom is large with a claw foot bath, shower and views of the local cricket ground next door.
Highly recommended!
