The Plough Inn Launceston reviews
55 Great decor, friendly atmosphere and terrific service from Peter and fellow staff.
Lunch menu exquisite and would love to return!
Loved this place! Staff were welcoming, atmosphere and food were great. So much so I ate here two days in a row! Do yourself a favour and check it out when in Launceston
We had read on numerous caravanning websites how great the duo of scallops were, so we thought we should give them a go.
They were definitely right. Friday special $20. Absolutely delicious and the staff were wonderful. We also tried a new craft beer for $5.00. If you are in Launceston on a Friday we would definitely recommend them. Also the mixed grill looks like amazing.
Here in Launceston for work and found this fantastic pub. Peter and the team couldn’t have been anymore welcoming! So much so I ate there 3 days in row! I don’t usually leave reviews however I felt it was needed on this occasion! I have to say the quality of the food and the atmosphere felt like being home from home! Keep up the good work! Thanks again guys I really appreciated the hospitality
Regards
Tom
Great food and prompt table service, disappointed when arrived to check in, was ignored by staff member behind bar.
Coming from country NSW, in our time at Launceston we kept coming back to this place. The staff were very friendly and the food and atmosphere was great!
Two of us had parmies and gravy. The gravy tasted like a gravox and water special. The Napoli was just tomato paste fried off with onion and the chips were unseasoned, although there were only a dozen chips so it hardly mattered. Wouldn’t return for food but the venue itself was nice. Particularly when considering the price, definitely not worth it, if this was a $15 special I’d give it 3 stars but for $27 before gravy, not good.
Saw a lot of food returning to the kitchen uneaten so maybe something was going on but the staff clearly didn’t want to ask the guests for feedback so I’m sure they had had an earful by the time we had eaten.
Very good food, drinks, friendly atmosphere congratulations to the management and staff, cheers
A really nice pub in the centre of Launceston.
I ordered the eye fillet and my wife had the stuffed chicken. Both meals were delicious and my steak was cooked medium-rare perfectly. Nice peppercorn sauce too.
The staff were pleasant and the chef even came out to ask how our meals were, which was a lovely touch.
I will give this place 3 stars because my wife loved her meal. Mine was rubbish. The Ploughman's platter was what my wife had. I had Szechuan Calamari salad, which tasted nothing of szechuan, and the salad that had oriental dressing to the side dish, but the salad was DROWNED in vinaigrette. I also got crispy potato skins, but they were soggy and uncooked and needed to be sent back. They came back crispy but NEVER should have appeared as they did. Be very wary of this - two very different experiences in one sitting.
The food is amazing! Just had a Beef Burger which hit the spot! Kids enjoyed the steak and chips and the salmon for dinner. The service was super friendly - will definitely be back and can highly recommend.
Just had two great meals here. Crumbed scallops with veges had about twice as many scallops as I expected and everything was perfectly cooked. My friend had the salmon with chips and salad and it was perfect too. Good friendly service as well. Great work!
Many thanks to Nick, Peter, Charles and Di for the most beautiful lunch on our last day in Lonnie. We ordered the single serve seafood platter, and the stuffed chicken - enormous servings and so tasty. Nick recommended a lovely red wine snd he was right on the money. The restaurant and bar look brand new, and all tables are well spaced.
Crumbles scallops were delicious, it's the 3rd time I've it and very consistent. Thanks to Pete, Di and team for looking after us!
Went here with my wife for lunch and we really loved the food my wife got the pot and parmi and I got the ploughman's grill which was absolutely fantastic and a fair price and left there nice and full.
Great pub meal, may not look much from the outside but inside is warm, clean and comfortable and the food is well prepared and large servings. All very tasty. Recommend for dinner.
Had a great meal here tonight, very tasty and filling. Great atmosphere and the service was good.
This is the friendliest pub in Launceston and one of the best parmys we have had in Tassie. We have become regulars here
Pretty good for a chill pub atmosphere with some gaming available as well. Not gonna knock your socks off but if you just want a pub to relax in with a beer and put a few punts on? Absolutely perfect. Staff are friendly and you won't be waiting long between pours.
Good food, service and location. I had the chicken caesar salad it was very nice. Other guests on the table had steak as it was steak night which includes a free glass off wine on Thursday nights. The chef came out and engaged with every table. Great atmosphere, will return.
