The Plough Inn Launceston

Fantastic from the moment we walked in great service freindly staff. The owner was brilliant checking meals, helping staff serve, running here there and everywhere as it was a very busy Tuesday Steak Night. My steak was cooked to perfection and mash potato was divine. Hubby the burger which was also great. Thank you very much for a warm welcome great food and atmosphere.

I had the crumbed scallops with vegetables. The scallops were cooked very well and tasted delicious. The potatoes were ‘mashed’ which was not mentioned in the menu - but not a concern. The staff were very friendly and efficient!

The food is good general pub food. A great selection from salads to steaks. They have specials several nights of the week (eg Tuesday is often discounted steak (porterhouse or rib fillet). Good central location, heaps of parking next door. The cinema is across the road, so there’s something for all ages, tastes and budgets.

Definitely a place to go for a meal.pleasant surrounds, great friendly service. Fabulous food.

Staff were friendly and professional, despite us being non local. Service took some time, but the food was great quality and the steak special was excellent value!

Awesome place. Staff were polite and friendly. Great service. Food was amazing. I am a very fussy eater and I are every bit of the chicken stir fry I ordered. Husband had the chicken parmi and he said it was awesome, the best parmi he has eaten in his life and he has eaten a lot. Lol. Will def be coming here again next time we are in Tasmania. Highly recommend this place.

We attended a 30th birthday party on the top floor. The place is wheelchair friendly, with access to a lift at the rear of the building. The wheelchair access from the carpark near the rear door. The lift is located to the right of the rear access behind a door, it can be quite easily missed. The rooftop bar is alfresco. However, there is a separate room that is totally enclosed. The staff were a little run off their feet. The meal was divine.

Food was great. Fast service. Loved being able to watch AFL in the booth. Special mention to the young lass, Ella who was attentive, accommodated our ‘humour’ & ensured our party of 12 enjoyed a memorisable evening

Great spot, with plenty of options, sports bar, pokies (I don't play them so no idea what games they are) and great meals.
Specials for meals most nights. Tuesday however is steak night and great deals.
Excellent service by the staff, young bar staff at that but they were top notch.
If I get back to Launceston i'll be back to this place for a beer and meal.

Really great food and service!
Staff were really welcoming and friendly and explained the set up for ordering for food etc. We ordered the Peking Duck Spring Rolls, Prawn Cocktail, Scallop and Bacon Skewers and Fried Prawn and Ginger Dumplings to share. The food was really delicious (the prawn cocktail was huge) and came out quickly.
We were located in the Wine Bar but must say it felt closer to being a sports bar with the tv screens and gambling paraphernalia.
Would definitely recommend the food and service here - it was just not the ‘pub’ vibe we were looking for and that was probably more our fault than theirs.

Excellent customer service. Quality meals in pleasant atmosphere. Upstairs balcony excellent place to hang out.

Not sure what's changed in a couple of weeks, but our meals were horrible.almost inedible. $36 for trio of seafood and the seafood is all straight from the freezer. Cooking oil could be changed a bit more often as everything tasted burnt. Won't be going back.yuk!

Had to try Ploughman's Inn from all the positive reviews, and glad I did. The bistro area is very nicely renovated however advisable to make a booking as they can get busy. I ordered the Seafood platter for one, servings are very generous and absolutely delicious. Very nice dinner.

More for the younger generation. Too noisy for an old bloke like me.

We had two families show up without a booking for dinner and the staff were extremely accommodating and even put us in the corporate area with tv on for the kids. Unfortunately my meal was dreadful. Almost inedible and the veggies just tasted wrong. The couple with us were happy with their meals.
