The Moonah Hotel reviews
45Pretty good meal. Little cold inside even with the fires lit. Staff were pretty good. Good option for a pub meal in Moonah
A great place for dinner. My family of 4 have been 3 times since it's refurbishment. The meals are big but a little expensive. My one criticism would be the chips. Please serve something other than chips! Even potato bake would be nicer. And a bit of tomato in the side salad would be good too. I had the fish pie tonight. It was good if a little over stodgy. However I will not let any of this deter me. I think it will improve and I will be back!
Been twice.
Meal was fantastic and liked the open fire.
Staff were friendly and easy going.
Nice local pub with up market feel and look. Good meals, great selection of beer on tap and great craft beer and wine cellar. Will frequent for sure.
You would think everyone can cook chips, unfortunately the " chefs " have no idea. It was terrible, Batterd Fish was ok. And not serving Tea and Coffee, not good enough very disappointing. Want be back in a hurry.
This is a wonderful neighbourhood pub.
Decent range of drinks, interesting & tasty meals, and friendly service.
Couldn't ask for more!
Fabulously revamped Great service & staff Food & drinks very good Bottleshop is superbe
Food is terrible and overpriced, not to mention the crockery is tacky enamel that spins while cutting into your overcooked meal and hard, burnt chips. Service is disgraceful, spent 5-7 minutes waiting at an empty bar to get served for a drink with 5 different staff on the floor. Definitely won’t be eating there again and will be sure to tell all I know not to either.
Good range of pub meal style food and beverages at a reasonable price. The Moonah Hotel and Cellars offer up a high-standard experience for the area, which is nothing short of heartening for us here in the northern suburbs.
Great venue. Spacious, contemporary feel. Very airy and summery. Meals are well priced and delicious. My steak was perfectly cooked. Excellent selection of beers too. And just round the corner from our house!
The food was average to say the least, so we sat waiting in anticipation for something special to arrive at our table, simply because of the overpriced cost of the menu,
but the Chicken Schnitzel and chips was so overcooked, not worth going back ever again
Cool menu, good vino list, grilled lettuce: mwah! We liked sitting on the street front with open window of bottle shop, ('hash tag' covid safe energy.) And you can buy their pet nat and drink on premises, which was cool.
We felt the hotel part had yet to find it's identity, beyond being a nice grey lilac colour. Like the previous pub, that I never went to but had a solid identity (hence my never going there, but I appreciate them being them if ykwim) So I hope they do find their 'vibe'! Will return x
I would highly recommend going to the Moonah hotel, the eggplant parmas are delicious and a generous size, coming with great chips and salad. They also have a really good wine list!
Great food beers were good but no smoking area and banned from bar service for skulling one beer unless drinking water
Lunch, beautiful steak cooked just right, horrible chips.
Great staff, offered to go up street & get coffee which she did.
Big shock with price of a glass of wine
Great pub meals, comfortable, contemporary dining and a brilliant selection of beers and wines to sample. AA+ from me.
The former mustard pot has been transformed into a stylish hotel/restaurant. The menu has the traditional chicken parmi's. Food was tasty and theres a good variety of quality beers and wines.
Revamped as Jimmy D the pub has a whole new feel, bistro food was excellent with exceptional service. Will definitely be back.
Have been there several times on my birthday and other times nice meal great staff fran swiadek
