The Kermandie reviews
34 Service was great
1 hour wait for entree and a 2 hour wait for main meal for 12 people on the least busiest night come on do better.
Plus the steak for $43 bucks very plans and just a couple of vegs.had better at any pub.
Went on a day trip today and had a raw Focaccia X2.
No atmosphere at all actually really creepy inside couldn't wait to get the hell out of there!
Amazing place for food and drinks. Stunning view from the hotel. We had food here as stop for food while on a tour.
Kermandie bar meals were really good and the service was great. Can't wait to go back and explore more of the menu.
I had a great lunch here and it was outstanding. There were great vegan options plus other tucker plus they had options of zero alcohol beers. The service was also perfect.
Food came out cold. Absolutely appalling staff. One staff member didn’t come up to us to take our orders (which we were fine with) but went up to another table and took their orders. Family and I kept saying “thank you” when an employee put our plates down got absolutely nothing back not even a smile. Saw us come in with kids and wasn’t given a kids menu. Not coming here again, staff were horrible never again. Very poor service (they weren’t busy at all either)
If you have the chance to pay for the river view or the cheaper option, just don't hesitate to pay more, the difference in quality it's from hostel style to a 4.5 stars hotel. I went to both in different days, and in the cheap option it's the first time in my life that I've been in a room without windows. Cheap option ok to just sleep, have a shower and leave.
Staff were friendly and the restaurant was lovely but the food was absolutely terrible. The meat was cold and tasteless. The only food that came out hot was the kids meals.
More like a Bed and Breakfast than a Hotel.
They asked guests to wash up dishes used which I was happy to do but I don't like the idea of relying on the previous guests to have cleaned the dishes properly and they didn't provide a tea towel.
Severely understaffed but the staff were absolutely lovely and helpful.
Food was a bit tastless but cocktails were amazing.
Would have been a good experience if the above was what I was expecting and it was advertised a bit more appropriately.
Excellent old style small country lodge. Small,
but clean and comfortable rooms. Great breakfast! Only stayed one night for business nearby, and will return for a longer stay
Last minute idea to drop in for dinner. Good menu range, very good staff and yummy food. Loved the deserts. We had a nice view of the water and could imagine sitting on the deck during the day.
Great Older style Hotel beautifully decorated rooms with really good pub food. The staff were excellent.
Comfortable rooms, great menu and bar and the staff were awesome. Great place to base yourself for a quieter explore of SE Tasmania outside of Hobart
I stayed at the Kermandie for a week of a writing retreat. Not only were the staff absolutely professional and helpful - I was very unwell for the first few days from the flu and then flying meant that my ears didn't pop (I'd been unwell for over a week already) and they did everything they possibly could to help me out. Michelle, Kurt, Deb and the team were friendly and really made this a fantastic stay. We'll be coming back for sure and bringing the rest of the family!
The food was also marvellous and they did amazing work to accommodate not just my dietary requirements, but those of everyone else on the retreat. We had people on the retreat with terrible gluten allergies and the Kermandie did everything they could to create a safe space free from airborne contaminates. Sitting there in the restaurant having a lazy breakfast (potato crumpets are new to the menu and were amazing!) and just looking out at that view is something I could do every day of my life! I loved everything that came out of the kitchen and wish I had met the chef! I never heard a complaint from anyone about their evening meal and I admit that I had the sticky date pudding several times!
The view from my unit was also fantastic, and just watching the birds kept me amused. There were king parrots (I think!) and willy-wagtails galore and bumblebees! Lots of people saw the platypus in the creek as well.
An absolute treasure of a hotel. Friendly, professional staff, good food, a clean, comfortable 2 bedroom unit and beautiful surroundings. Perfect.
A really lovely little place to stop. Room was neat, clean, and we'll provisioned. Bathroom was lovely. Bed was comfy. Great location across from the water. Service was super friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend The Kermandie as a place to stay.
Had a great stay! Cosy, comfy room, lovely beautiful staff and service big thankyou to Kurt and Courtney. Great evening meal, thanks chef and lovely house service lady. Good team, well done!
Loved this place, the accommodation was very comfortable, the food was delicious (crumbed scallops), the staff friendly what more do we need.
I have stayed at the Kermandie on multiple work trips. It is a boutique, old hotel and pub with lots of atmosphere, friendly staff and a warm fire in the lounge. If you are looking for a pleasant and unique place to stay when driving around Tasmania than consider stopping in.
1 night stay. Room was quiet, clean, bed comfortable, shower hot.
Our meals were very enjoyable. The atmosphere and the staff made for a very enjoyable night. Beautiful open fireplace in the guest lounge upstairs and complementary continental breakfast.
Totally recommended. A great hotel.
