The Barrel Collective reviews
34 An absolutely outstanding little whisky and gin bar. The owner was very friendly and knowledgeable about whiskies and perfectly recommended a tasting to us based on what we said we were looking for.
Gave us some great background and insight into Tassie whiskies - highly recommended and will definitely return when we visit Lonnie again!
Must visit for any whiskey lover!
Huge selection, great knowledge and wonderful service
Nice atmosphere, hole in the wall kind of bar. Staff has great knowledge of the local drinks served here and was very helpful in recommending other places to visit on our trip!
Disappointed by the Whiskey range. So many good Tasmanian Whiskeys not on the menu. Good staff and lovely vibe made up for the lack of menu. I normally go a whiskey all the time but was forced to something else due to the lack of variety. Tried something new and I liked it though. Very friendly staff.
Mike was a wealth of knowledge, accommodating and hospitable. I’d recommend this to anybody who likes to explore new tastes and celebrate Tasmanian product! A true asset to the town
Very good knowledge.
Hannah was very good. Knew a lot about spirits and cocktails.
If you want to get away from the boagns and enjoy a classy drink go there!
Cheers Cobbas
Fantastic little gin and whisky bar! Perfectly balanced cocktails, a huge range of local Tasmanian Gin and Whisky as well as a few beers and the odd specialty drink. Great atmosphere, cosy and friendly. Nice lighting and comfortable seating. Barman was very knowledgeable and had great recommendations. Highly recommend!
Great little bar. Bartender was great guy and made my in-laws a “light weight” espresso martini so they could join in. Didn’t realise so many distilleries from tassie
Such a lovely intimate venue. Perfect for having a couple of drinks before going to the Princess Theatre, or just to have a nice night with friends. Cocktails made beautifully and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and have a passion for their craft. Would recommend this spot for locals to call into regularly or tourists to make as must see for a Launceston adventure!
On holidays from Brisbane, we visited randomly in search of locally made gins and whiskeys and hit the jackpot at The Barrel Collective. All local to Tasmania and knowledge was excellent.
A visit is recommended
Highlight of my drinking trip in Launceston. Best of the best in terms of tasmania spirits. The four taps they had were also top notch stuff. All the staff over two nights were super knowledgeable and friendly. Happy hour is worth the trip during the hours. All in all, highly recommend!
We LOVED this place. Michael is a great host and made us very welcome. Fantastic range of gins and whiskies. Loved the decor and ambiance too. Don't miss a visit to this fantastic bar. Julie and Paul. Bright Victoria.
The owner and staff are incredibly friendly, the gin selection is out of this world. I won’t stop raving about this place to my friends and colleagues for a long time. Great atmosphere, great drinks. Cannot recommend it highly enough
Brilliant boutique spirits bar. Best ever. Need a deep wallet. However it is just the most wonderful experience. A must visit if in Launceston!
Great range of Tassie gins and whiskies. Knowledgeable staff. The gin flight was a great way to taste 4 different gins.
Great customer service, awesome knowledge of Tasmanian spirits. Legend bartender and an amazing gin sour!
An amazing intimate experience with beautiful Tassy options to enjoy. We had the best experience with old school hospitality that is hard to find these days. An absolute must if you are in Launceston.
So glad we discovered this place! Huge range of gins and whiskeys and basically all of it made in Tassie. The owner knows his stuff - from perfect drink suggestions, to interesting stories on the brands. We had a great night!
Cannot recommend this place enough! After a very long day, we went in for a night cap and were greeted with the loveliest staff who went above and beyond to make our night. Such an amazing array of gins and whiskeys. Definitely worth visiting!
