Tavern 42 Degrees South reviews
50The service was really slow. We sat there for 40 minutes after receiving our bread. The food was good but the delay really was not acceptable. Ruined our night out. Won’t be back!
Terrible & rude service! We waited over 45 minutes for our drinks which the waiter had forgotten about, when we asked if we could get service he continually told us that he had other things to do. I honestly think it was the worst service I’ve ever encountered. The food & view is good but was overrun by the lack of care from the staff.
Can’t wait to come back!
The food, drinks and service were all fantastic. We loved that the menu was full of Tasmanian seafood and produce. The pan-seared scallops and the oysters with ponzu and finger lime were delicious! The staff were so friendly and accommodating of my husband's food allergies; they were knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations to suit our needs (including some lovely local wines!)
Great location and ambience. Will definitely be returning next time we are in Hobart.
Delicious food and the best mulled wine I’ve had in Hobart! Hopefully they offer more vegan mains soon otherwise it’s wonderful.
Pathetic service by barman and the chubby waiter.
No manners at all
They are in real hurry, didnt bother to give customers to decide what they want
The waiter has speaking disability couldnt hear properly what he said
They are screaming at the cash register and having fun of customers
Barman looks like an asian dude and the cocktails he made disgusting
Reply for most pathetic restaurant ever seen
Scratching your own balls is easy. First train your people.

Come to Sydney we will teach you how to run a business.
You must be paying those people few dollars I guess. That’s why they are behaving like that.
Kicking out- who would come to your pathetic place mate
Your place is a disgrace for beautiful hobart.
Grow up dude
Couldn't have asked for a better place for our first oyster experience! Loved it! And the drinks were great. Best of all was the fantastic service!
Enjoyed the ‘Feed Me’ menu whilst dining tonight! My partner and I shared the salmon and heirloom tomato small plates as well as the salmon, duck salad and brussel sprouts for the two large plates. Overall a delicious meal, portion sizes were great for the two of us and the menu was perfectly paired together. I enjoyed two cocktails which were served promptly and were absolutely divine! Service was absolutely lovely, everyone was very helpful and attentive to any of our needs.
T42 was excellent! The food was outstanding and the service was fabulous. Highly recommend!
Good service, food was fast, but the gnocchi were not cooked through and the dish was enoki-less. Pity.
Great spot for a drink and a sit and a chat and watch the afternoon roll on. Comfy chairs, friendly staff: very enjoyable.
We came here out of the blue and had a great experience. Beautiful view, delicious food and super friendly service. Love the chill vibes here.
Dinner at T42 was delicious and fantastic. The service from our waiter (Brock) was superb as he was very welcoming and seated us quickly. The food was timed very well and was magnificent. No issues. I would definitely recommend to the general public and friends.
Delicious food. We shared the seafood platter and thoroughly enjoyed the variety and quality of the seafood.
We had an awesome experience. Great service, quality of food excellent and great outlook. Highly recommend!
What a fabulous place, right on the water. Staff are warm, friendly and professional. Our meal was terrific. Oysters two ways, natural and ponzu.fresh plump and delicious. Then we shared a bucket of prawns, chips, scallops and finished with a cheese board. We couldn't fault anything.
Thankyou for a memorable and enjoyable experience. Recommended
We held a function at T42 last weekend, for about 60 people. It was incredible!
From the beginning, Leo was prompt in his responses, friendly, accomodating and made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Everyone loved the venue and was so happy with everything.
It was a great night, and I cannot recommend T42 enough!
Food was delicious! We had the charcuterie board, pork belly, and salmon. Honestly, so good!
We had a bit of a mix up with the menu when booking here (totally our mistake). I think we viewed an old online menu somehow, but like I say, that was our fault.
Food had an Asian fusion influence, so keep that in mind - no fish 'n chips here!
From the moment we walked in (without a booking on Saturday night ️) it was a great experience. Despite a very busy restaurant we were taken to a window table with views over Constitution dock! The service and the food was fantastic. Bruny island oysters, that tasted liked they were straight out of the ocean, and charcuterie to start, followed by pork belly and flat iron steak with a bottle of Shaw & Smith Shiraz. The staff were very friendly and provided great service.
Met up with old friends here and it perfectly kick started a great weekend. Food, atmosphere and service all on point. Thank you.
Went this place on saturday. We enjoyed the fresh sashimi and the beef tadaki. Bit pricey but worth to visit.
