Tamar Valley Wine Centre reviews
34When a customer walks in maybe don’t stare at them and wait for them to say something - hi how can I help goes a long way.
Pizza too cheesy and had no anchovies salmon dish really small with two tiny pieces of potato. Service and wine great
Overall a mixed experience. Food quality great - very tasty and nothing to fault on. Thanks to the chef!
Value for money could be better. $40 pp for a few bites and a glass of wine is a bit steep if there is virtually no table service.
Things for improvement: customer service.
No table service, had to order at the bar, the platter was served and that's it. We sat down for an hour but did not see any of the staff asking if things were OK or perhaps that we'd like anything else, being the only guests in the house the entire time.
Stopped in for a late lunch - opted for the sharing platter for our group of 4, and the tasting flight of 4 wines, loved the options to choose from. Did not disappoint, good banter with our host, platter was just right, lovely cheeses and we bought a few bottles to take with us for dinner later. Would come again if we were staying longer
Stopped in for a wine and some lunch, what an absolute pleasure it was! The young man that served us was absolutely the most polite bloke we’ve met. He deserves a raise. Great food & service. 10/10.
This place never disappoints. Beautiful food, great atmosphere, stunning service. The Gluten Free Pizzas are delicious.
Pizza & Beer What's not to Love!
Stopped by for lunch recently for the first time. Good menu, we choose the pizza's, pear & prosciutto, plus ham & cheese both delicious and generous size, served with some ice cold beers! Professional & friendly service.
Lovely staff, great wines and cheese! They gave us a pamphlet with more information about the area of other places for us to see too which was super helpful
We went wine tasting and had an excellent conversation with the owner. Very friendly. He gave us some lessons on wines and also good recommendations. Would have gotten even more bottles if we lived in Tasmania. Highly recommend!
Delicious food, excellent service, friendly owner who shares wine knowledge and gives recommendations of vineyards and places to visit. All the food that we ordered were simply awesome! My whole family loves it:)
The food was really good here! You get to taste 4 wine for free part of the wine tasting. Cheese platter, chicken bbq pizza was really good too! They have local tasmanian beer that was very tasty with a passion fruit after taste! However do note it’s not a vineyard but a restaurant
Excellent experience. Had the arancini balls, salad and a vegetarian pizza. Great value, someone knows what they are doing! Often don't get enough filling on vego pizzas. Would happily eat here again
A big heartfelt thankyou to Adam!
I attended a wedding for my brother in law in July at Tamar Valley Wine Centre, a week before the wedding I discovered I was pregnant. After a few days consideration I messaged the Facebook page to enquire if they happened to have non-alcoholic wine and explained that I wanted to keep my pregnancy under wraps until after the couples big day! The response I received from Adam was more than I could have expected, he said they did not stock it but would get me a bottle, I was not only touched by the effort but also the sincerity and care that his message had.
After notifying bar staff on my arrival, everyone was discrete, even remembering me so I did not have to ask for my order in front of family and friends. Sometimes its just the small things that make such a big difference!
Thank you to everyone at Tamar Valley Wine Centre, it wasn't a problem you were expected to help solve but you went above and beyond and I am very grateful!
Very disappointed in the selection for tasting. We thought we would be able to try various wineries from the area but the only options were pipers and ninth island. The pizza's were ok but we wouldn't go back for tasting - 4 small tastes for $20 was not great value given the options.
With little time or knowledge of the local wine area we choose to stop here. They have a large selection of food and a bigger one for wine around 200.
Adam the owner was very welcoming and had great insight on the local vineyards with some great history and wine making tales. I love it when local people really push the local community. During wine selection we were pointed to the vineyard we liked and off we went. A great morning the pizza and Pinot Noir very satisfying.
David and Kerry.
My daughter booked a table for fathers day, when she arrived they had her booking but had failed to reserve a table and the family was relegated to the outside tables. We ordered a round of drinks and at the same time ordered our meals.
About three quarters of an hour passed and our drinks were empty, when one of the waitresses had finished chatting to one of the other outside tables and patting their dog (I hope she washed her hands afterwards) I asked her if she would mind finding out how our order was doing. She returned apologised for the delay and offered a free round of drinks.
Another forty five minutes passed and when a table that had arrived a good half hour after we had, was served their meals, my patience was spent.
From now on I will be having my Sunday lunches at Di's "Little Gem Café" Beaconsfield or the "Waterfront Hotel" Beauty Point
Beautiful place with wonderful interior. The staff were lovely, and extremely helpful with great tips on where to check out the best wineries!
Although we didn't do a taste test here, the lunch they provided was sensational - sample platter. So good, cheese, biscuits, fresh fruit, chutney to die for. Coffee is amazing. Dessert was a let down banana cake eas dry and they size of the serve was very very little for the $8 price.
Great little gem on the west Tamar to get high quality eats and drinks. Enjoyed the live music too!
Adam provided a very informative summary of the local Tamar Valley wineries and other Tasmanian regoins.
