Sullivans Cove Apartments reviews
27One of the best places I have stayed at in Hobart really great location and once there you can walk to most places
Stayed for 3 nights at the Penthouse
Spacious, clean and modern
Great view of the harbour
Friendly and Accommodating staff
Accessible location
Not totally sound proof but still tolerable. You can hear people walking on the hallway
I love the kitchen area and the mini garden/open space inside our apartment
I was unfortunately ripped off. The Gibsons Mill Apartments are extremely noisy and not family friendly. It's located right next to a loud pub which operates till 3 AM. No warning was given when I booked the apartment or by the check in staff.
It is quite overpriced as well for the condition of the rooms. They are supposedly a 5 star hotel and they do definitely charge you that way. All they did was leave this lame message next to the bed. Avoid at all costs if you like to sleep at night.
A lovely location at the IXL apartments - close to wharf with restaurants and bars. However the rooms are well over priced for the condition they are in. Shower temperature was too cold even on the hottest setting, broken shower fixture in one of the bathrooms.
Marks / stains throughout some furnishings and large cobwebs in the skylight. Extra charges for parking per night. Left some constructive feedback on the express check out form, however I am yet to receive a response to this - instead they just sent me a bill via email for a $3 charge for a chocolate bar we didn't consume. We never received complimentary milk for tea or coffee (so that sums up the housekeeping) Always friendly staff but they hide behind emails, they do not want to pick up the phone and have a personal conversation. I would stay elsewhere on my return to Hobart.
Beautiful setting. Clean, well kept accommodation. No complaints at all. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Penthouse room:
On Entry we found that surrounding rooms could see directly into our room and especially the main bedroom.
Only partial view of what was expected.
We rang to voice our dissatisfaction and were told that nothing else available and the room we were put in is only used when other "Penthouse Rooms" are fully booked.
Returned from dinner to find that:
We can't make the room dark - blinds are useless.
The fridge is noisy
Traffic noise ridiculously loud.
People walking and talking in the hallway is audible lucky in our room.
Air conditioning units directly over head which are noisy all the time.
$500 per night to not sleep. We booked 2 nights, left after 1 and would not have stayed 1 if we could have found alternative accommodation for the night.
This is a noisy 3br apartment not penthouse quality.
Photos taken at 10pm with blinds closed.
I stayed at the Sullivan Cove Apartments, specifically The Gibson’s Mill and let me tell you it was such a spacious and comfortable room! The bed was extremely comfortable and they supplied sight-seeing books etc.
However the only down side to this accomodation would be the shower head, the water strength isn’t too strong.
I also left my pearl earrings at the accomodation and reception were more than happy to have them mailed back to me: Overall, a lovely experience and if I were to travel back to Hobart again I would definitely stay here again.
