2 stars.just for the room being clean.no service available.no wifi.no one at reception.no remote for the TV.no one picking up the phone.no "hot water". I understand the price point is low.but its ridiculous when you call yourself a hotel and do not have any basic services available.

Great little spot for an evening drink and a bite to eat.warm and cosy, with an open wood fire and often live music.

Stayed in a room here. Very old, small and dirty, not remotely worth the cost. Then on Saturday night they have a dance party upstairs next to the rooms. No possibility of sleeping at all.

Edit: had to add this bit. After they finally shut down the dance party just after 12am, their wake up call is when they wash down the corridor outside the room with a fire hose. Presumably that is the signal to leave.

Edit: to their credit they refunded me the noisy night without question.

Ordered the vegetarian burger off the menu. Pumpkin and chickpea with beetroot relish. Was given a 30c cooked (frozen bought) bubble n squeak veggie patty and a few pieces of lettuce (at $24). Insult to vegetarians. 3 star as the replacement pizza was good and staff replaced the burger without a fuss.

Was planning to have Thai at the place next door, but it was closed. Star Hotel was warm (wood fire), shared a comfy & cosy booth with hubby. Generous serves for dinner. Could have had the Mushroom Bruschetta as my main instead of side dish. Atlantic Salmon cooked perfectly. Hubby very happy with Gluten Free options. Big thumbs up.

Accomdoation:
No parking available, only parking is off street or behind and you have to pay per hour or per day.
No heating or cooling not even a fan in the room.
Shower was very small, with mould and a broken shower head.
Customer service was very nice and food was great.

Amazing little place here. For the people who complained about having to put a napkin under the table, I feel for them. That struggle is very real. But seriously, great atmosphere, great food, Accommodation is good value for money.

Sarah at the Star Bar was brilliant with assisting me with arranging a surprise birthday party for my husband! She knew her stuff and was spot on with recommendations on how much to order!
We had a private space on the rooftop bar, which was perfect for the event.
The pizzas were an absolute hit and really great quality! We will go back again just to get more of these pizzas.

Ordered lunch in advance due to an hour for lunch from work, the meals were super quick when we arrived, the service was amazing and the meals very tasty, mushroom risotto to die for, great place for a meal or just a few drinks for a catch up

The place looks beautiful and the staff seems to be kind but.
As soon as I arrived, I had to put a napkin under the table leg to stop the table from wobbling. This was ok but.
After placing my order and waiting for 37 minutes and suddenly realise that other guests that arrived after me were eating their meals, one waiter come back to tell me that they lost my order.
This is unacceptable and unprofessional, especially because my time was short as I was prepared to head to the airport for a flight.
I don’t recommend this place at all.

Amazing bar/restaurant.the most yummiest food.lovely friendly vibe.great staff.highly recommend. 5 star.shout out to the blonde lady that makes the best coffees in the whole of tas.

Great venue for locals to relax and chill with a cold drink to coffee. The lady who makes coffee sonetimes is perfect and the best coffee around. Meals are really good here too!

5 star service on every level!

If you advertise that a paticular item is part of your meal, make sure that it is, the excuse of "we are updating our menue" dosen't wash when staff are asked after the meal is served.

Appealing to all walks of life. Great to dine in with comfortable fireplaces and modern decor for a fancy night in at affordable prices, or a hangout for the boys or ladies with their wide range of drinks and fresh flow on tap. Sophisticated without the prejudice, a wonderful place to wind down or hold events if need. And BLOODY delicious, huge portioned food ️

The food is amazing! The chefs really know how to cook an amazing steak hands down the best chefs s in Launceston I will definitely will be coming back!
