Stanley Cabin & Tourist Park reviews
73Reception was lovely, Stayed in a basic cabin, very clean, heaps of room, price was great, cabin had everything cooking wise. Good sized fridge, stove top and microwave. Beautiful location.
Beautiful park with a great location short walk to town right on the beach absolutely beautiful
Great place to stay when visiting Stanley, Beautiful town. And the are right on the foreshore
Exceptional location only 400m walk to Stanley CBD. Watch the penguins come in along the break wall each night around 7pm when we were here in September.
Spectacular sight to witness.
It's a great place to base yourself for a few days to explore the Tarkine region.
Since leaving Devonport, this caravan park was the best park we've stayed in by far along the who e north-west coast of Tasmania. The park has great newly renovated amenities, and fantastic camp kitchen facilities.
We had a great deal, book 3 nights pay for 2 costing a total of $90 for three nights for a powered site.
Can’t wait to see how the new owner Peter makes this the ideal family holiday destination. Great location by the sea and always a ton of penguins on the walkway even during the quiet season.
Have our wonderful stay at this campsite well maintained campsite where you can also see the penguins near the beach at walking distance - June 2023.
I arrived here late in the evening and stayed here for a night, in my car.
Only in the morning I used the facilities and I had to write this review to remember how clean the facility and the amenities are.
I highly recommend this place.
Friendly check in staff Caravan site good size in perfect spot backing in to beach - sure 12.
Amenities and camp kitchen spot on& very clean
Definately will be back
This park is amazing. Fiona was checking us into a site and could not be more pleasant and extremely helpful with her 19 years of local knowledge. The ablutions are spotless and grounds very well maintained with grassy sites. By far the best park we have stayed in Tasmania and right on the water. The whole town is stunning but this park is magnificent with a games room for kids and a beautiful kitchen with nice comfy lounge chairs after a long day out.
Stanley is quaint and beautiful. Well worth spending a few days or more. The Tarkine Drive is sensational. SCTP is a great place to base yourself.
I stayed 3 wonderful nights at this park. I would definitely recommend it, it's very clean, neat as a pin and Fiona at reception is a wealth of knowledge and pleasant to deal with. As is the owner of the park. I stayed in the one bedroom waterfront cabin and loved it. Watching, hearing and smelling the beach/waves from the couch was amazing. Unfortunately I missed seeing the lil penguins my own fault, but I did hear them. And actually miss hearing them now. When I can get together more money for another trip to Tassie I will most definitely come and stay here again. And for longer!
Stanley was my last stop after 3 weeks holidaying in Tassie and I have to say that it was probably my favourite spot.
I cannot fault the caravan park. It was clean and a perfect location on the water. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the amenities are second to none. I didn't get to do everything I wanted in Tassie, so I will definitely be back. I'll be revisiting Stanley, for sure.
Love the place.
Lucky I have cabin through walk-in
My Cabin view very nice and clean, facing the ocean
Their staffs providing very great service:
1. Giving me travel advice
2. Fiona telling me, My cabin can see penguin at night and just only need to walk for few second.
When the penguin show up Fiona knock my door remind me penguin already here which I am busying prepare my job interview for the next day and forget the time.
4 They also letting me in a quiet place for my online interview
It is totally out of my expectation!
I must come back again if I travel around Stanley.
Especially Fiona is doing excellent service.
Excellent park, fair pricing, great camp kitchen (all utensils to cook) awesome showers, friendly staff, beautiful location and town.
Love this place

This is a wonderful park, stayed in a cabin for 2 nights, very clean and comfortable cabin. Close to the local pub, The Nut and shops.
Would definitely recommend staying here.
The most beautiful park with great facilities- games room for kids
Lovely showers, close to town- just perfect
Stayed in a cabin at Stanley Tourist and Caravan Park. On arrival the reception staff were nice and friendly and the park grounds were clean and well kept.
The cabin we stayed in was a 2 bedroom with the usual ammenities such as tea, coffee tv etc but did lack hanging space for towels and clothing in the bathroom. Plenty of hot water for showers. Cabin too was nice and clean with good parking space for a vehicle. Park had excellent access to the beach. Park sits right at the foot of The Nut.
I would stay there again and are happy to recommend to other travellers.
A very clean well maintained park. A virtual stones throw from the beach.
Only a five minute walk up to the local pub for a counter meal or a stroll around many of the old buildings built around 1830.
Very family friendly and dogs are allowed.
Plenty to see and do and you may be lucky enough to spot a penguin or 20 as they come up the beach on dusk.
Super Lage, sauber und ordentlich. Freundlicher Empfang mit Tipps, was in der Umgebung zu sehen ist.
Reception lady was welcoming and helpful and gave us good tips for places to eat and activities. Cabin was basic but clean, although it got a bit too hot in the afternoon due to the westerly sun, which isn’t usually a problem here. Along the foreshore you could see penguins at night, which was a bonus.
