Shearwater Resort reviews
61Pretty cozy place small but functional bathrooms. Nice pool (not full sized). Sauna.spa. Tv is average.
We had a great, relaxing week here. Lovely unit with everything you could want. Close to beaches, golf and the bistro. We used it as a base to explore to the west and east of Davenport. Fully recommend it.
Just had dinner for our anniversary omg the parmigiana a was great and huge thank you for lovely a meal great service
Food ~Music~ Staff
Awesome venue and easy to locate.
Enjoy a relaxing friendly atmosphere and kick back with great friends and entertainment. Kid friendly
Loved staying in the beachcom room overlooking the golf course. Nice short walk to the beach.
Golf course wasn't perfect and you had to bring your own set. Did not use the golf course in the end as we only had one set with 3 people and would have cost a bit.
Resort has not aged well, rooms are adequate but nothing more. Our shower in the bath barely worked and the toilet was positioned in such a way it seemed like an afterthought. Staff were really friendly and the pool was well maintained just a shame about the aging rooms.
Been banned for life from the manger for leaving feedback in regards to their service and opening times, poor form of customer service. Thats okay will spend money elsewhere.
Had the Sunday roast and was very disappointed, the meat was tuff, peas were hard and only had 3 potatoes, 3 pumpkin and gravy. No carrots or anything else and over all it was very bland.
Visited Waves Restaurant. Well done steaks were still oozing blood. Vegetables were cold. Pepper gravy was metallic in taste. No menu was provided when we were seated. The venue looks like it's from the 70s. Very disapointing given it was a dinner for our first anniversary. Avoid as is overpriced tasteless food.
Peaceful & relaxing but absolutely need a car. Try not to drive in Tassie at night - the abundance of wildlife is just unbelievable.
Cheap, but pretty old and daggy. Under floor heating didn't work in one of the rooms. Noise of pool renovation next to us, this was off season though and wouldn't be a reoccurring thing. If you feel like a trip back in time to the 70s/80s this place is for you. Also good if you like your toilet seats to not stay up, and open to the main bedroom.
Very clean. Great activities like tennis, swimming, game room, bar, golf course.
But rooms could be a bit more stylish
Pretty cool place, lovely food and coffee / live music, being the only Venue in Port Sorell i wish you had more gaming and later opening hours for a Resort wow 9pm at night?
Food is good for pub food. The chicken schnitzel was breast and a good size. Mushroom sauce wasnt much.
Great atmosphere! Good food and friendly staff. This place has everything you need, even plenty to do for the kids.
Good food at reasonable prices, unfortunately staff member who served us was rather rude! However in general nice place!
This is our timeshare week and Shearwater is a good central point for reaching out to NW coast attractions and Launceston & the Tamar Valley.
My wife and I spent six days at Shearwater resort and had a wonderful time travelling to the many small towns and glorious beaches in the north of Tassie. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and the whole experience uplifting. Thanks to all the staff for making my sixtieth birthday a most memorable one.
The management were very accommodating, we had arrived from the airport early and yet they were able to get us into our room.
It is a very peaceful setting, set up against the backdrop of the golf course. Close to Shops and a supermarkets (AGI).
Plenty of activities if you wish to partake in them. You are only and hour or so to Hobart and other area's and places of interest.
The only down side is that maybe the rooms are looking a little tired and a bit of maintainence in the bathroom would be of benefit.
Simple but lovely. The rooms and facilities are well kept and clean but are clearly of the 70s in terms of looks. If you can get past salmon-coloured paint and arches everywhere, the place is perfectly nice. The restaurant is very good for dinner - everything I've tried (and that's a fair bit) was enjoyable. A little bottl-o is on site and there is a grocery shop across the street so if you want to use your kitchenette or the on-site BBQs, that's also an option.
