Shearwater Resort

A large group of us had a meal. The food was excellent - fresh, well cooked, generous serves. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere family friendly. Great experience.

Hi, loved the locals. The stuff, Charmaine and Rachael, amazing. Then there was a shift change.
Not sure whom the 2 young ladies where but very rude! Not nice, unpleasant. I give 1 star 4 Charmaine, 1 star 4 Rachael and 1 4 the locals.

Shearwater Resort is an ideal base to explore the north coast of Tasmania where there is lots to see and do. The staff are friendly and the accommodation and facilities are excellent.

Attended for the Screaming Jets concert…. First time visit…. Surprised how big it is so we’re making plans to return for lunch or dinner sometime soon.

Unfortunately we got placed in the restaurant in an area where there was a five year olds birthday party. This was a table of ten kids under 8. I would suggest that a Saturday night is not the best time to book such a party when you have adults paying $35 for their main and having to sit next kids who are sugared up and bored sitting at a table. We asked to move away from them but they said it wasn't possible as they were full. Their attention to service was poor as a table became available and after 20 mins of no action we went up and asked and then they allowed us to move away from the group. The laugh was that nearly immediately all the kids wanted an ice cream and you guessed it, the ice cream fridge was located next to our new table. We spent the next ten minutes with over excited children and a stressed mother trying unsuccessfully to control them whilst they waited for their ice cream. To top this night off two of our meals arrived whilst the other three went to another table. We were compensated for the missing meals but what a disaster! There were lots of ways with an attention to detail and appropriate service to avoid such nightmares.

Regular use of the swimming pool as a time share owner. Pools and change rooms are always clean. Reception staff very helpful.

The units are tired and need updating, there was mould in and around the shower. For a unit that could sleep 6 the comfortable seating was inadequate. However the service was prompt when we needed it and the view over the golf course was lovely. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we found the meals in the dining area very good.

OK so this was our last stay with Classic, yeh. We knew this was an older property. When we equired to book nothing was available. Checked again and again and we were enquiring checking Fri to Fri as so many time share are. They didn't assist that this place was Sat to Sat. So no chance of a booking if this wasn't mentioned as a Fri to Fri. Good stay. Very old no oven, 1 small bathroom w no storage and the toilet in the middle of the bathroom A little gross. 6 beds but 4 places around the dining table. You don't expect to spend that much time here.

I would like to thank the staff for their wonderful service but I would also like to say that the cooks in the kitchen at the restaurant need to put more care into the food they serve. I’ve eaten there three times with my partner, each of us have had different meals each time and have been thoroughly disappointed. Please take this review into consideration to better the food you give visitors as it is your weakest link.

Had a meal in restaurant tonight. Terrible meal shanks and salt pepper squid were 0/5 would not pay $10 for either
Very hit and miss

We had an extremely bad stay at the “resort”, the place is beyond outdated, carpets stained, bedding gross, entire room faded and old. We planned to stay much longer but left soon after arriving. Please update your rooms, needing to hire a DVD player in 2022 is unacceptable.

We were a bit disappointed with our visit to Sheerwater Resort this time.
Cooking facilities were restricted to only a 2 burner gas cooktop and a microwave oven, restricting what you could prepare for meals.
There was a noise factor caused by the closing of doors each time somebody
entered or left their unit nearby. (we stayed in a downstairs unit, as requested due to mobility issues). Also we had 4 adults sharing one bathroom/toilet.
We had stayed at this same Resort a few years ago which was a multi level unit with an ensuite with Spa, with another bathroom & toilet, and a full kitchen.
The restaurant meals were fantastic, although the takeaway Pizza's were not up to the standard that we expected.
Overall, we found the staff very friendly, and the peace & tranquility of this Resort is wonderful.

Nice games room & pool, very nice views over the golf course, plenty of places around to walk to.

No meals on Monday or Tuesday, it’s a joke at such a busy time of the year. The whole place has gone backwards in the last few years. All the locals have no faith in going there. Very disappointed to say the least. Once the county club was a thriving business and a very popular venue. Not anymore, it’s gone backwards.

We had a meal last night.
Great sized menu with variety and not the usual pub style meals.
Food was excellent. Good size portions. Tasty and excellent presentations. Some hadsmaller options (see pic for large and small fish and chips) Prices seemed fair. Staff were friendly and attentive. Chelsea was great.
There is indoor and outdoor seating, appears there is music played at various times.
Small kids play area, giant chess/checkers board to keep them entertained
All on the flat so all accessible for wheelchairs etc.

Only average meals, so called tassie scallops that didn’t have the roe on them, pork cutlet over cooked and DRY, service was slow for not an over abundance of people, if there was some competition in the town they may get better

The quality and freshness of our meals were amazing, cooked to perfection, especially the veggies - flavoursome and delish!
We had Tassie Rump Steak and Salmon Bowl. Coming back tomorrow for sure

Rate this place, well priced, nice ammenities and most staff are great. Best value in the area.

Dreadful service, we were booked upstairs in the function room and it felt like we were forgotten about.staff were rude and neglectful it was quite the ordeal just to get the orders in. Wedges were drowned in salt. Bruchette was stone cold, soggy and way over seasoned. Waste of $26. I will not be returning.

Visited while staying in town. Blown away by the quality of the food. Particularly enjoyed the beetroot & goat cheese croquets to start and the duck! Very friendly service. Would definitely return and recommend to anyone!
