Secret Buddha Café reviews
53Coffee still very good but menu is quite limited now and the service has declined in the last 6 months.
An inspiring and calm space with tasty food.
We came here after a gal at The Chapel in town suggested it and we are so glad to have found this what feels like a secret garden cafe.
The parking is flat and just off the road. The cafe is a super short stroll from the parking along the paved driveway.
Inside there are lots of tables both inside and outside depending on your mood. It was a bit fresh today and we chose outside and were delighted to see the sun’s rays shine through and highlight the plants around us.
We chose to go with the American hamburger which had a thick beef patty, the saucy pulled pork tacos (3 per serving), both plates came warm and the food hot with a side of delicious potato salad.
We were tipped off about how great their coffee was so clearly we had to add them in - my husband had a nice cappuccino and I opted for the dirty hippie, a combo of chai and espresso that I haven’t had in years out. Their desserts were callimg, and although I honestly felt I was overdoing it by ordering more, The brownie looked too good to pass up today. It had a nice slightly crisp top with a side of cream and it felt so indulgent!
Overall the staff were friendly in a perfectly casual way like you would be with friends which suited the garden scene.
Lovely atmosphere, yummy food, great coffee. I’m sure we’ll be back again.
Awful food, outrageous price. No options for vegan/gf so I asked for a big brekky style plate from the sides options (figuring it would work out cheaper than swapping bacon for spinach, right?). The hash browns were rubbery and dry and tasted like freezer. It was all below average, tomatoes, mushrooms. Came out with wheat bread instead of Gf; no apology, had to wait another 5-10 mins.
THEN they charged me $28! Which was dearer than the meat brekky! Are you serious? Had to talk to manager who knocked it down to a gracious $22 - for food I could make 10x better at home. Won’t be returning. These guys need to pick up their game.
Excellent coffee, equally excellent service. Nice selection of food on the menu, although we only had coffee, but wow, great coffee.
Beautiful relaxing setting, the people are lovely also they make great coffee!
And we could take our dogs they also had treats for them on the menu.
We'll be back
It's changed hands alot. Four years ago it was a 5 star. It's still ok but the other day there was only one dish that my daughter and I could have have. It was absolutely delicious, but there were no specials. Sorry about 3 stars, could have been more choices
Twice in last 6 months service really poor. Excepted it the first time as ‘things happen’. Have worked in catering field I know what it’s like but.but second time arrived and this time I’d taken family along. We were seated outside, then forgotten! Staff said they would come and get our drinks order, and bring a menu.
I ended up going in and asking for our 3 drinks after 15 mins. Was told sorry I forgot! I grabbed s menu myself, was told I’ll be out to take your order in a moment. 2 other families arrived in the meantime and they were served before us! It was embarrassing with people looking at upon realising we hadn’t been served and they had!
We had arrived with the intention of having drinks and lunch before keeping to an appointment but at the 45 minute mark, and realising we were not going to be able to fit it in now, in disgust I went back in and asked for drinks to go explaining why. I was told sorry but it finished it for me.
Good coffee and food in a cozy little spot next to the nursery. Pictured is the open breakfast burrito which was very nice and worth having. The bacon was soft and flavorful, but the highlight was the sauce, which when paired with the tomato and corn made the meal really well balanced in terms of sweet vs savory.
The noise level is quite decent for a cafe of it's size.
Amazing service, never fails to disappoint! Staff are super friendly and the meals are delish, 10/10 recommend for those who want a good feed and are after a good coffee! The chocolate brownie is also to die for!
Absolutely fantastic food great service absolutely fantastic gardens a rare gem a pleasure to find a must visit
Fantastic food in leafy surroundings. Efficient friendly staff. Well worth a visit, or two! Thank you.
Unfortunately my review is not so good. I was in a party of 5 today for lunch. I ordered the corn and sweet potato fritter, whilst not too bad, I found it a little dry, it was not good value for money as it was only served with a little sour cream and a average tomato type condiment, no side salad and it cost $20.00. There was no cutlery on the table when they brought the meals and when we asked for some, they brought us cutlery that was not clean so we sent it back got some clean. My friend used the toilet and it was unclean with an overflowing bin, service was slow and general management of duties was missing leading to long wait times, oh and my other friend wanted the scones with jam and cream and was told they had run out of jam! What cafe advertises scones and does not have jam and does not have a kettle to boil water for a cup of tea. Tea took 1/2 an hour to come because we were told the coffee machine was busy! Not good enough. Businesses say they want to open and make money.but they have to do their bit too or the people will not come. It's a shame because the setting is lovely but overall I am being generous with a 3 star rating.give this one a miss, unless you just want a coffee that was nice.
Don't miss out on coffee and cake here! Good range of drinks and food (sweat or savoury), with everything looking and smelling great as you sit there waiting to dig in. They make most things on site, so fresh is best is what you get. Pretty awesome portion size for cake too, great to splurge or share.up to you! Always been at least one decent gf option sweet to, of not many.
Disappointed this morning at what is one of my favourite places for breaky.
Ok limited menu is fine but print a few out for those outside.
Breaky was okay, coffee left it.
Love recycling however not one knife could cut my bagel.
Outside very tired yes we have wet days but a quick clean off for those times we can be outside.
Will leave to next year.
Lovely stop off at the Plants Plus nursery to check out some plants, and spotted the cafe on the way out….
Yummo burger and fritters/iced coffee/milkshakes.
Sorry didn’t take any food-pics but can highly recommend…. 5
One of the best coffees I've ever had. The staff was so great too, very lovely! It was a bit busy and can feel sort of cramped in there, so if you're looking for a more relaxed space to chill and read or do work for an hour.this wouldn't be what I'd think of right away. But you will not be disappointed in the quality of the coffee, food, and staff. I tell you this! Plus they have outdoor seating that's more roomy:)
Lovely little Cafe next to West Park Grove Nursery, great service, value for money & tasty food, good choice of desserts.
Such a delightful place. The food is delicious and the staff. Friendly and helpful.
I don't like to give a negative review however I have never had a hot cup of coffee yet even though I regularly ask for one. It is always luke warm and just drinkable.
Coffee was really good but food is really expensive. Paid $18 for meal that honestly wasn't that great. Customer service is really good tho
What a gem of a place! Divine menu, wonderful atmosphere and great coffee. Everything we ordered arrived in a timely manner hot and tasty. Well done to the staff for a truly enjoyable experience.
