Rude Boy

I stumbled on this place, lost, tired and confused. The babe who looked after me was so lovely? Personable, knowledgeable, passionate, welcoming, helpful. ALL the good things! Best service ever.and although I'm sure she works very hard, it all seemed natural and effortless.she was just like that!
The bathroom was the birdy BEST! Great tunes.
Beer choice excellent. Menu was impossible to read but I don't care. Thank you so much. A million stars ***************

One of the best restaurants I've been to in a long time. Great food and excellent service.

Ordered the Vegan burger. Burger was inedible. Bun wasn’t chewable for some reason. The whole burger was falling apart

Rum and succulent fried chicken. Say no more! Was an experience to go amongst the avian crowd in the toilet

Had the 10oz chicken with corn and cheese bread.every single dish was done beautifully.we loved the cheese bread!

Maybe it’s the dark & stormy talking but damn that chicken burger was good. For $16, I’m so full!:) delishhhh

For anyone looking for a sumptuous meal in Hobart, this is a must! Best fried chicken and awesome cocktails. The customer service is also exemplary.

Top 3 must eat spots in Hobart. What a shame that we only found out about third on our last day of the trip. I’d give this spot 6 out of 5 if I could. The absolute best fried chicken I have ever had in any restaurant ever and that slaw. The cocktails were spot on and the their smokey take on the classic pina colada was amazing. Over the top theatrics (which I absolutely loved) and such a balance of flavour wow. Kudos to the guys behind the bar. What a spot.

Hands down the BEST customer service I've experienced - you really feel immediately at home and the wait staff are helpful, knowledgeable, understanding. Everything you could ask for!

An outstanding bar as well, the staff more than happy to talk you through different rum and whisky choices!

To top it off, the vegan not-chicken option is absolutely to die for, we've been back multiple times to try the difference seasonings and sauces - and we'll definitely be back before we leave Hobart.

Well done Rude Boy and 10/10 would absolutely recommend. Worth making a booking as this place is super popular and for good, good reason.

The best gluten free fried chicken burger that I've ever eaten. My hubby loved his random 'feed me' meal. We came here for two days in a row, and would keep coming back if we could. Thank you for accommodating allergies and vegans, we appreciate it! Cheers from Queensland!

Overall a great evening, food was on point and were able to find us a spot on a Saturday evening peak hour without a reservation. Only reason for the 4 star was a little let down with drinks for example paying 40 bucks for a drink and the majority of it being ice was a bit meh. But other then that would definetly eat here again.

So excellent, beautiful yummy beef brisket, amazingly good and simple, chips and slaw and sauce. And a delicious rhubarb soda

Held a private party there last night. The staff were outstanding, the food was amazing and the cocktails delicious.

A beautiful space and helpful friendly staff. Love the cocktail list but a little on the steep side. Fried chicken is delicious and great options on sauces and sides! Will definitely return, love the vibe

Disappointing third visit.
I visited last night with 4 of my friends to celebrate a 50th birthday.
We felt very bad for the poor waiter who was having a very rough first day on the job and this review should not reflect badly in him because he was very sweet and apologetic.
However. I was quite embarrassed by the poor service because I had recommended Rude Boy to my friends
Our drinks order which was very uncomplicated took around 30 minutes to arrive. We had to ask a couple of times.
Our food order which was made around 7.10 did not arrive until 8pm. Again we had to ask a couple of times. Our food did not all come out at the same time and one of my friends had to wait 10 minutes longer for hers.
As I say it was quite disappointing and while Rude Boy is usually a great place for food and drinks with friends but Born in this occasion.

Sensational evening out! Always hesitant when a restaurant sells fake "chicken" but by-golly! It was delicious! Absolutely recommend!
Also, the craft beer selection is spectacular! I thoroughly enjoyed a sour beer made of my favourite plant variety, CACTUS! ️

Omg if u want a rum or chicken go here, they have every rum under the sun and the chicken is delicious

Great extra tender chicken tastes like they're using extra fresh ingredients the beer is great too and matches with their style of food really well.

Amazing place, everything works and super helpful will be back for sure. If I lived here would be my local

Had some amazing food delivered with super friendly service. Can't believe their fried chicken is gluten free, it's absolutely incredible. My friend loved their vegan fried chicken too.
