Rosedale Homestead reviews
41This place was genuinely the worst food I have ever paid for. $80+ for 2 people - very poor vegetarian options which felt like they came out of a packet. Unsure how they have good food reviews I wouldn’t advise anyone to eat here, would be better to skip a meal than to eat here. AVOID!
This farm is only open for camping. Powered and unpowered sites. Animal park and bird sanctuary is also open. Close to Port Arthur and the Tasman peninsular.
UPDATE 13TH APRIL 23 I BELIEVE THEY ARENT OPEN ANYMORE!
Omg, the food is fantastic! Well done chef.
Service is a delight and even with a full house you don't have to wait forever for your meals, setting is a great country feel, animals to see, good rustic accommodation with wood fire. A must visit spot on the tasman peninsula!
The worst
I don't know how this restaurant got the number 1 spot for Tripadvisor!
The young guy who was meant to be serving was extremely unhelpful. Ignoring the bell and my attempts to get his attention.
He never smiled once and didn't even put any music on in the restaurant.
The cook came out and helped us. He was a really nice and friendly guy. He served us, put the music on and probably cooked.
Now the food is also a point of disappointment!
I have no issue with paying a higher price for quality meals but $40.00 for an overcooked steak and slaw! No cool!
Whoever owns this place, you need to address the 1. Quality of meals 2. How the staff treats and greets your customers and 3. Price your food accordingly.
From what I've seen, your prices for what you get is certainly not worth it.
I would've given you a 1 star if not for the cook being such a nice guy.
I'm happy to discuss this with you if you like.
Yummy foods. Nice hospitality. We ordered salmon with green Veggies; nice selection of veggies. Lamb cut let was fantabulous. Definitely will visit again. Hats off to chef.
We stayed in a campervan with power. Good bathroom to use. Not good weather while we were there
Great food and wonderful service from Julie.
Catered to the dietary requirements of the group with a gluten free menu.
Great food, wonderful homemade pies and burgers, fabulous desserts. Will definitely be returning
Food was awesome, 200 star rating best country pub/ cafe. Staff very friendly. Please visit them
Superb & locally sourced food, excellent value for money, deserts were devine and we were provided with toddler appropriate cutlery, plate and cup with the high chair (which was perfectly clean).
Fantastic breakfast, coffee and a variety of tea. Great way to start the morning.
The animals were beautiful, but they could do with putting in some paths and some better drainage in the paddocks for when it rains.
Amazing scotch fillet, pepper sauce was delicious, best I've had. Chips were cooked to perfection as well. Both garlic bread and herb breads were excellent too. Great service and a really nice venue.
Lovely little place. Newish restaurant/cafe with freshly cooked delicious food - a good variety too.
We came here on a cold winter evening in Sep. There was not a lot of people around but it didn't stop the wonderful service. Meals were great, the fire was lit and everything was very clean.
Found this place by chance at 7: 30 pm, the welcoming we received was above anything we have ever received. The owners are up there with the most hospitable people we have ever met. 10/10 for this place. Hot showers, clean and friendly environment. Lots of birds and animals. Real home away from home. Also the museum, just WOW! Highly recommended this place. Cheap and definitely cheerful. Also check out Ian’s honey!
We love this place. Have been four times now this year, our little girl loves the animals and the food is delicious. Highly recommend!
Lovely owners, hearty meals at the restaurant, just what we needed after a long day flying. Cosy and great selection of food options. Can't wait to have the fresh baked bread for brekky. Thank you!
I went off reviews I read online about this place. Well! Absolutely did not disappoint, gorgeous staff, welcoming, spotlessly clean, the food was homemade locally sourced and delicious. I had the farmers tasting plate which was so well put together and really highlighted the beautiful local produce. I recommend this gorgeous spot to anyone looking for somewhere nice to go to while visiting port Arthur
Big portions of decent food. The service was super lovely and friendly. Would highly highly recommend the $15 farm experience to anyone who loves animals. Definitely get the animal food as there is plenty to see and feed and pat.
Really enjoyed it. Down to earth. Food is nothing fancy but filling. Only thing was that the price to walk through the farm wasn't advertised (or at least not anywhere I could see) and we got a vibe like they were trying to hide it. Yes, we could have asked. I take responsibility for that. But at about $20 a head for adults (we didn't get an itemised receipt) it would have been polite to tell us before we walked out the gate that they held open for us.
Not a complaint, just an observation. I'm an adult and I could have fixed the issue with my voice. I just didn't realise the question needed to be asked.
