Retro Cafe reviews
74 Way tasty toasties as well as a delicious smoked salmon and avocado salad today!
Nice outdoor seating area. Great service, too.
Fabulous little cafe
Fantastic coffee and hot chocolate
Bacon and egg roll best I’ve ever had
Good coffee. Friendly staff. Make sure you ask for sauce on your bacon and egg roll. Otherwise 5 stars!
The nachos had no meat it was just corn chips cheese and cand tomato. It was also hella expensive the egg and bacon roll is $18.5.
I had an excellent flat white coffee while reading the daily newspapers here. Good to find a cafe in Hobart that still provides papers for their customers to read over a coffee!
Quirky warm Cafe —We enjoyed a big hot breakfast & coffee — fast friendly service — good vibe, indoor/outdoor dining.some parking available
Great little spot for a coffee and cake.
Staff are great and happy to help. Delivery to the table.
Bravo. I really enjoyed this place.
Amazing toastie, best one I’ve had! Coffee is amazing too. Definitely pop into retros for a lovely breakfast and coffee
Long wait for food and very small toast with lots of holes in it and more burnt than normal golden toast. Hot chocolate warm not hot so not happy with our visit here.
This Cafe is really nice inside. Very retro. I ordered the eggs Benedict and sadly it was a huge disappointment. The hollandaise sauce was very watery and cold. The bacon was burnt and most of it inedible. The eggs were poached reasonably well and the bagel was good. As a huge eggs Benedict fan I was left very disappointed.
This Salamanca cafe is ideal for the experience. I ordered toasted muesli with fruit, yum. Coffee is awesome.
We purchased the lunch special of a toasted sandwich and small coffee to take away.
Very generous filling and an awesome coffee.
Perfect lunch for only $12.
Very very very tasty brunch! Stopped by here on our final morning in Hobart, and had our brunch outside in the sun. The food was tasty, hot and flavoursome, the coffee warm and delicious and the staff friendly and attentive. Waiter forgot our orange juice but picked up on it and corrected it quickly. The eggs Florentine with smoked salmon and sourdough toast with butter were both perfect, and we followed these up with the banana bread! We will be back here on our next Hobart visit.
Cafe has a cozy, lively atmosphere. I ordered a latte and their coffee is not bad. Four stars because I (a woman in my early 20s) asked for a sugar in my drink, and the man responded “there’s sugar on the table. ” This was after they called out the same drink WITH a sugar for an older white man just before me. Please treat all of your customers with the same level of respect.
Been a long time customer of Retro, it's my go to place for a quick take away coffee, to meet with friends, or to have work meetings with colleagues over lunch.
Cannot recommend this place enough
Lovely wait people and excellent food - very supportive and helpful with mum
Thank you
I bought a simple tomato and cheese toastie and it was the best toastie I have ever had. Delicious!
Great little place.
Great staff.
Good coffee.
Good cake.
Good toasties.
Good location.
Good!
Blonde waitress gave the worst service and she hated being there and it clearly showed. Then also charged $7 more for sit in for a coffee and tostie save your time and go next door
